I hope to be as good as that one day. I wish more people would skate in quads cause people only like hockey skates now and it's hard to find someone to jam skate with. I still jam skate but being 70 years old, I don't know how much longer I will be able to do it. I can't do some of the things I used to do, but I still can most things. Like I can still do a straddle. For now.

Haha I just think it’s funny that people comment saying they are sloppy and they were better back in their day knowing nothing about who these guys are and that they not only helped create this sport but are some of the most badass jam skaters that have ever picked up a pair of skates
Frantic Gundam well even while they are good things can be sloppy. Why not look through some skating vids on CZcams and their critique is correct. It could be more on point but it was great!!! As a fitness instructor I can appreciate their skills but I have seen tighter routines. Why can’t people just speak the truth without being called a bully... wow. They were quite good but some things lacked in their presentation. Not the end of the world but the truth.
Angelofmusic Wonder I understand this and am in no way just hatefully bashing it’s just frustrating to see people who don’t have knowledge of the sport of jamskating very well and where it’s not their fault just bothers me as a skater to see them disrespect legends in our industry no hurt intended
@@franticgundam7377 You guys are acting like this was created or perfected during these guys lifetime! People were inventing this back in the 1970's (mostly Black people) In Disco Rinks and Skate Party Nights before these guys were born.

When they opened one of the Sonic Burger places here they had the employees on skates & that was awesome but it was short lived. Figure someone got hurt and sued them. I had guessed that was you in the pic :) I am 56 going on 25 ... Lol. And yep thats me in the pic to (as of 4-5-19). Pic is a couple years old (I still look the same and still have that hat, lol). I have been meaning to update it. Its raining like crazy here in Salem. They predicted a thunder storm; I'm excited, I love storms.
Love it! Grew up skating in Louisiana then took my son skating all the time in Tucson, AZ until 2015 when we moved to L.A. Now he rides motorcycles, and I have no one to skate with here. Boo hoo. Thanks for the great video.

@GS GS Actually a willingness to get out there in front of people and not fall down does require some skill and rhythm, especially when acrobatics is involved.
Use to love skating…. Went every Friday & Saturday nights and even started going sundays lol. Skating was my childhood. At the rink with the same group for 5+ years. Even got into competition skating with a team… got really good at it. I’ll bust my ass now, lol…. Great times…

I grew up skating. And kept going well into my 30s because they would have an adult night 18 and up so once a month we all go skating just for some nostalgia and exercise.
Oh how I enjoyed viewing this video. An roller jammer myself, my brother & I used to practice in our mother's kitchen. The excitement and joy it brought in the late 70's besides Pacman.
I'm black. So I remember when and how this disco, Roller Boogie thing started.......and ended. It was east coast late 70s. Then blew up nationwide in the 80s. Before that, Americans just skated in a circle while random music played, like at public ice skating rinks. It was fun for a time. But it never cancelled out the violence. It slowed it down for a while, thank God (so did break dancing and go-go music and rap battles). I remember going to the roller rink and the smell of weed smoke coming from the bathrooms was SOOOO strong! But it was still fun. There were fights. Some got big, and bad. But no shootings and few stabbings. Until the mid-80s. By 1992, all but ONE of our indoor roller rinks was closed after too many shootings lead to police constantly patrolling outside (bummer for teens) parents didn't feel safe dropping kids (like me and my sister ) off there.
I could recognise this roller skating rink from anywhere. This is the florence fun dome. I would skate my heart out here and became one of the fastest 11 year olds there. I miss kentucky

This is something we did in the early 60’s. As in 1960,s. So glad to see it still happening with regular skates. Everything now is inline.
