Very nice test and xantia, im owner of xantia 1.8i 66kw 2000year , ac working perfectly engine is amazing and i have almost 270.000km , hydraulics are fine but i need to fix rear brake cylinders they are a bit rusty.
Today bought the same one with 97k

Well, you can’t see it because it’s inside the ashtray “drawer”. Makes it a bit difficult to plug in certain adapters.
This car does not rust under normal conditions. I have 3 of them and none have rusted anywhere.
One is 26 years old and the other 22 each. Here you see a route from the oldest 26 years old.

the speedometer is damaged. cold solders. In the meantime it has been corrected. the speed was up to 140 kilometers
In your Videos I can’t decide whether I like more classical music or tyre squeal ☺️ Regarding rust, I was really astonished that my Xantia needed welding, but I suppose normal conditions differ a bit between Switzerland and Greece 😉
What about rust on those cars?
This particular specimen was kept in a garage by the previous owner, so it’s body is well preserved, even after over 200,000 km. Generally, I think, rust was not a significant problem on these cars.
Update on rust: apparently mine had silently rusted under the paint. So it’ll probably be too costly to have it done. I don’t know what’s more expensive, renting a garage or have it made when the MOT approaches…
227000 is not even that high for a xantia i had 2.0 manual 546000 on it when hit a large kangaroo high speed killing it sadly
