  • Kurt is widely claimed to have been an INFP from searches online. I know for me personally I related to him very much from knowing his story as well as catching documentaries / interviews. His tragic early death was extremely unfortunate as many cared for this man. He will be missed....
    In this video I'm simply clipping pieces of content together I related to, and full filling a subscribers request to make a video on him...

      Yes! I've been crushed by people telling me that it looks like I'm not having fun. I remember going on a week long trip to Disney World with my best friend in middle school and it was one of the best times of my life! Her dad pulled me aside and said, "What's going on. Are you not having any fun here?" And I said confused, "yes...I'm having a TON of fun!" and he responded, "Well, it doesn't look like it." and walked away. They actually told my parents that I was miserable and they didn't want to take me on their next trip. That was the beginning of a lifelong mission to somehow physically prove that I was enjoying myself...mostly because I didn't want to hurt anyone else by them thinking that I wasn't enjoying my time with them.

    I spend my life feeling inadequate to everyone around me and dream of becoming a more "successful" person whatever that may be. This way of thinking has made me suffer mild depression on and off since I was a teenager. I play guitar, love writing songs and no matter how many times people say I'm good at things, I never really believe it. I'm introverted, care deeply about other people's feelings and the impression that I make on them to the point where I find life so exhausting that I want to spend all my free time doing apsolutely nothing which then makes me feel guilty for being lazy. Does this make me sound like an INFP? Sorry about the long message, I know most won't have made it to the end!

    • @INFPHD
      @INFPHD  Před 4 lety +11

      What up Stephen 🤙🏻. Yeah man, sounds super INFP! Whole thing has also been the story of my life. I really started to clear my mind up from all that society chatter when I turned 30 (39 now). I am “career successful”, owned a house since 27, have had nice cars/ materialistic things, etc. and the more and more I found myself acquiring all those things society said makes us happy stuff (the American Dream)...the more I fell into depression and couldn’t understand why!? I fell into heavy debt (stress buyer) etc that essentially trapped me in this revolving hamster wheel of unhappiness where personal freedom was far down the list compared to making banks / employers happy with a strong work ethic to keep gaining more and more money to satisfy “others”. For the past 3 years or so I’ve been working away from that trap and the more I loosen that need for money / making others happy - the happier I am becoming in my life. For INFPs the idea of happiness is generally not going to be found in fame/ fortune, but In individualization paths that align with our values (..for you - playing guitar/ song writing and other things you will discover). Typically these paths are not society desired ones where the majority will commonly deter you from chasing which you have to just ignore (even though that has away of drawing criticism which we also tend to avoid). And yes, taking compliments are something I’m HORRIBLE at and will commonly dismiss them when they come my way instead of just saying thank you or whatever (work in progress). The thing is, is that not everyone can write a song/ play a guitar. I know INFPs are classified as fitting into those categories for being musically inclined, but I’m not one of them and thoroughly enjoy those who are (wish I was). I may not be able to do that but I know I have creative things I can do better than others just because of how my mind works etc and what fits into my value system. People get caught up in trying to find their passion which it’s not necessarily a “thing” more than it’s a feeling / excited energy you get when doing that stuff. I’m energized now a days through video editing/ CZcams stuff that I know not everyone can/ wants to do. When I get into that zone I get excited and just feel comfortable (never thought in a million years I would do CZcams). I made a video on INFPs being lazy which transfers into it being more of a creativity minded brain kinda thing from research I found which was pretty validating to hear...
      Nice to meet you and also we “prefer to write”... your comment was not near as long as what others on here lay down so no apology required....😎

    I just found out that Kurt Cobain died exactly on the day I was born, April 5th, 1994. I am like, nearly crying here because I've been thru a lot of what this video shows, and i am an INFP and i do like this guy. And people also laugh at me cause i am different, and i also feel sorry cause they're all the same. I loved this video.

    • @INFPHD
      @INFPHD  Před 4 lety +7

      That's pretty interesting with your guys dates there. Yeah I was 13 on that date and 90's grunge music was (still is) a big part of my life. I found that I always heavily related to Kurt in many ways and could empathize with him to where if you threw in drugs and overnight success on a global scale could drive an INFP in the direction he took. We typically prefer to do things "behind the scenes" and not so much in the spotlight, but can still do those things. However, when we do many extroverted things our energy reserves get drained quickly where we may run to certain comforts to dull the craziness. In his case it was most of the times drugs, but like in my case I can stress eat etc. when times get out of control.
      All I will say is "let them laugh". It's obviously easier said than done to ignore comments like that because we can "overthink" EVERYTHING, but it's just super important to keep on your unique path of likes / dislikes. I strive very hard to pave my own path which will be different than yours - same as your interests are different than mine. As INFPs we share similar preferences with how we like to come at the world, but to let the "comments" from others pave your direction in life is where you will ultimately become unhappy. I would say that It took me till around 30 that I really started branching off of societies expectations of how I "should be" and although that path comes with more criticism - it's where I'm the most happiest...

    It always ticks me off when I see his "suicide letter". The last few lines, in a different style, were added to shift attention from the fact that it was a murder. What a shame. Sorry to be conspiracy theory guy, but Courtney had her dealer take him out before he dumped her crazy ass. The authorities could not have botched the investigation any worse.

      @INFPHD  Před 4 lety +2

      Yeah there’s all kinds of conspiracy theories with that tragic ending. I can see it going either or honestly and in my younger years had those suicidal thoughts pop in and out. Add his burst into stardom, drugs, etc was a recipe for possibility especially if you were to put a young INFP type in that position. I always just related to him growing up and as well found a bunch of clips I also related to when making the vid.
      But yeah, like I said I can see it being a skewed scenario and won’t challenge your thought on the whole thing.

      Hey Michele! Yeah I always strongly resonated with Kurt (probably reason he got a video made first) growing up and 90’s grunge is where a bulk of my music heart lives! Being a voice for us misunderstoods is awesome like you said, but also a huge burden to take on your shoulders especially in that kind of rapid fame way. Which is how I can easily see where the drugs naturally flowed in to help subdue all that craziness. People like to see only the glory that comes with fame/ fortune but in the world of a similar personality type that we understand I see a lot more of the difficulties he had to face challenging our preference system...
      I will definitely do more individual videos like this one they just take a tremendous amount of time so I have to find those weekly time chunks in my personal life to take them on. I’m plotting Princess Diana for the next one as I need to get a girl on there and her story I really empathize with too...

      INFP HD Hey Sean I definitely can relate to the crazy and drug fueled life!! Music is timeless and amazing!! I can remember hearing Nirvana for the first time and thought to myself he’s got it! I can only imagine his pressure and all that went along with it I can see why he did what he did going to drugs. Quiet he’s mind down..... it’s truly a tragic thing. I think things got much worse when Courtney enter into his life as well. I still have my doubts that Kurt actually killed himself.... way to many things don’t add up! I look forward to watching more videos from you. Will definitely subscribe... Thanks Michele

    • @INFPHD
      @INFPHD  Před 4 lety

      Yeah I agree that Courtney just was not a good fit for how he was already stressed out to the max. Throwing a type like her on top of that is just a recipe for disaster. Yeah I have watched the documentaries etc regarding his suicide and agree things are sketchy, BUT again really putting myself into his shoes I wouldn’t dismiss actual suicide either. I know as a young heavily bullied INFP growing up I had suicidal thoughts pop in plenty of times (*INFPs are actually said to be the ones most affected with suicidal thoughts early on) to where that wasn’t drug fueled or heavily in some privacy stripped public spotlight at every turn. So with all that like I said I’m not firm either way on if it was suicide or not, but would totally understand if it was him who actually took his life which is extremely unfortunate either way to which many are missing out on his inspiring talents...😔

    • @INFPHD
      @INFPHD  Před 4 lety

      Oh lol assumed you were an INFP 🤣. But yeah it’s psychology stuff that I’m obviously into and what the channel revolves around but any person is welcome regardless of type. You know what yours is?...assume not. A lot aren’t super into the stuff but some types are fascinated by it all with feeling understood finally etc. Yeah I to strategically pick the people I choose to call out as INFP in all my videos so it’s not just loosely picking these people who I don’t personally know. I have to relate to the person, find numerous (majority) Google places that state them as INFP, and then also have to find clips etc. Cornell is more called out to be INTJ on Google (not saying he can’t be an actual INFP) so I would skip out on him. This stuff is subjective and very hard to not have people come annoying call you out with the choices and that gets old waking up to “you’re wrong, that person is another type!” time and time again a year after I post these things. Cobain, Depp...they are safer for me. Cornell is a cool dude just wouldn’t go down that road for my niche channel..

  • @zippidydoodaazippidypap2818

    I really hope people can have understanding for people that have taken their own life’s. Imagine then skiing down a hill, not at first knowing that it will take them of a cliff and then trying to tell them to stop as the natural exponential momentum does not allow them. With their thoughts, they were headed in that direction for too long without knowing the consequences. They want as much as you do for them to turn right around if they could. They hate to see the pain it would cause you. But it is no longer a choice and the only thing they can do for themselves then is rather than see death as some morbid thing, only in shades of fear and darkness but rather an expression of what they really are: a freedom seeker to the highest potentials. And so, if faced with death, once the action is taken (impulsively because they can no longer control it so please don’t judge them) and as they feel themselves releasing- they wish to express to you that all the happiness and freedom they are experiencing as they confirm their suspicions that they are eternal and at least they were willing to enter life for as long as they did and their intent for a life that would keep them happy and spread that to others too - and I am sure that they would wish to express that such feeling of freedom and happiness is possible whilst living but just to be aware of the direction and of your thought and how it can acquire a strong momentum in any one direction. I think the thing with manic depressives is that they have moments where they get out ahead of that momentum and like a man standing in front of a car going at 90 miles per hour, they take the hit... it may look like smiles and positivity but behind that is someone that may be desperately trying to convince themselves that everything is alright and working out for them but behind closed doors, the moment they try to step forward in that broken body, they feel the pain and it’s no use trying to convince self otherwise, you just feel it. I think it is hard to notice when your thoughts maybe taking you in a certain direction but... we might be able to forgive ourselves better in taking more achievable emotional steps towards happiness. From a place of extreme sadness, jumping onto a rocket of pure positivity would likely send you flying off into the bushes so... trying the lifting spirit of anger (only for a little while as too long and it will use you like a puppet) the relief of blame; the strength in comparison, the sweet spirit of revenge (heavy metal)... then dull it a little with frustration (rap) then tire it with the making peace of tranquility (world music); then quite unexpectedly the little rays of hope (soul) then belief (gospel) and finally, knowing (Motown!)

    • @INFPHD
      @INFPHD  Před 4 lety +20

      INFPs are said to have the highest rate of suicidal thoughts in the teenage/ college years out of all the types. We also typically prefer to stay back in the shadows and not endure the spotlights which comes with “criticism” that we also go out of our way to avoid. With taking all that in and thinking about myself in their situations where my privacy is all now but gone and the criticism with my passionate projects at an all time high level on the news / magazines etc then to me it all has I high probability. I simply have a hard time processing through this CZcams stuff where the videos I make take me a lot of time which I’m very passionate about, but not everyone is going to like the stuff we make - part of life. Simple thumbs down clicks or “that video was dumb” comments require me to process and then move forward or quit. Celebrities are on a whole other level and self medicating / other alternatives to deal with all that can easily in my opinion creep in....

    What do you think of c.s. Joseph tying him as an INFJ?

    • @INFPHD
      @INFPHD  Před 4 lety +4

      Everyone has their own opinions as celebrity / character typing is all subjective. There are characters and people I have used in my videos that are more heavily criticized on what type they are, but Kurt is a more firm INFP classification and also a person who I always found myself heavily relating to. I don’t personally know Kurt and neither does C.S. Joseph. However, Kurt is one of the ones I would put more of an INFP stamp on than some of the others gained from the popular websites.

      Lol not this one... I relate to Kurt more than any other celebrity type growing up and diving into his life you will see that he was a disturbed INFP which most are in the younger years. As well simply Googling “Kurt Cobain personality type” will paint more arguments towards INFP...

      Yes I have seen that CS video. MBTI is very much subjective and that does not remove CS Joseph from that fact. Appreciate you and his opinion, but I will stick with mine especially with Kurt...
