if your goal at the start was to get perfect fights without blowing sp/hp you could have gone with Izanami no okami as its "Victory Cry" ability fully restores hp/sp after combat so its an insanely good thing to run if you are grinding

There's a guy who played Kingdom Hearts 1 and 2 with similar objectives: Lvl 99 before leaving Destiny Islands in KH1, and lvl 99 as Roxas in the prologue of KH2 (which took twice as long).
I dont give a damn about persona never played but god damn i enjoy your delivery and format im subscribing on the of chance you produce content im intersted in or i play persona
@@YourBudTevin actually, no. I love watching challenge channels and there aren't many of them. Happy you were recommended because no one has tackled persona yet.
Hey, Tevin, my bud! Loved the video, just wanted to offer input on one thing! While I'm not incredibly familiar with the specific numbers used in Persona 5, I am fairly familiar with the concept of diminishing returns, the system by which a lot of games utilize an experience mechanic wherein defeating an enemy becomes worth less over time, and it unfortunately it's a much more gradual progression than what you'd initially suggest. So with that in mind, if we assume that levels 1-15 increase experience at 100% of the earned rate, and 91-99 at a 33% rate, then as opposed to 16-90 being a 70% gain rate, it would safe to assume it would be more like 16-29 being 70%, 30-59 being 50%, and 60-90 being 40%. Or something along those lines! Again, I don't know what specific numbers P5 would use within those parameters, but essentially the decline would be more gradual and less sudden. Given this information, the 16-90 level range would become worth less over time as well, further increasing your overall time requirement from 12 days to most like 15 days!
I should add the main reason I used 16-90 as the method was because I was certain about level 1-15, level 16, and level 90. Since I did not want to assume any further, I used the knowledge I had and plugged in the numbers there! I’m sure you’re more correct in your methodology!
@@YourBudTevin Totally fair! And you did say you were using very conservative numbers, so I definitely understand. Besides, the only way to see for sure what the exact numbers are anyway would just be to do the challenge anyway! XD
I mean, Cartman maxed out his WoW character by grinding boars in the forest near Goldshire so I suppose it's not impossible. edit: I mean it's probably easier if you have insta-kill so the second palace would be ideal but the first palace? Now that's a challenge lol.
I've been rocking team glasses since vanilla P5 and I can definitely say it's the best Accessory in the game. I got to level 99 in Royal in Sae's palace which is something i didnt think was possible in the original without the reaper cheese.
@@BitchChill yeah with how they buffed mementos and mishimas confidant already giving a lot of xp, PLUS the 10% (i think) extra xp from the team glasses, its so easy to level up its insane.
I just speed runned till getting to mementos and just keeped grinding till I was able to challenge the reaper then keeped doing that till I reached lvl 99 and was to reach it by night time so in total 24 hours
You know what I was just thinking about this I know that dude did something similar in Final Fantasy 7 and it took him roughly 500 hours or 20 days from his count and I can tell you that doing this will be a real pain in the ass the best advice I can give you is have some music at the ready or some friends to talk to while doing this or grind to a certain level for a few days then play another game or do another challenge so you won't get burnt out and don't forget to save your data because that would be absolutely painful if you got so close to completing the challenge and the power went out or something like that
A slight optimization is use the stairs to reset the area instead of going towards the throne room. Took me about a minute to destroy all 3 and reset the area by sprinting to the stairs and back.
I'm not sure how to feel. I really want to know how long it'll take to reach lv 99 in the first palace, but I don't want someone to hurt themselves just to find out. I also suggest adding sleep to that schedule because there is no way you're staying awake that long.
Highest I got in Royal was Level 95. It was thanks to the final palace and Exp 200% in Mementos. Plus the Ryuji insta kill was neutralized in the final semester. So that helped too lol
this is interesting, there's another fact is you can get 102 exp by not ambushing the Shadows and let the Shadows hit you first. that saves some time more.
I highly doubt 12 days will be enough. If you have an exp-drop to 70% by Level 16 and to 33% by Level 91 there is no way that there are no further drops between this two Level Caps. It will take at least 500 hours, probably even a few 100 more.
When you beat the twins in P5R, they give you an accessory that boosts EXP by 50%. I'm definitely using those in my next play through. Those combined with Mishma's confidant ability, and mementos EXP set at 200% should make grinding easy
It is better to use Izanagi-no-Ookami Picaro for this. He has "Victory Cry" ability that refills all HP/MP after battle and "Myriad Truths" that is one of strongest moves in the game hitting 3 times megidolaon, so you can kill the enemies with one hit and have unlimited mp
Honestly, this kind of repetitive work sounds quite relaxing right about now. Turn off the game sounds, get yourself some nice podcasts and log in a couple of hours per day every day in between other "work", it ought to take about a month of effort and it might just turn the whole game into a Light Novel, since you will be over leveled until late game. It might even be what I would consider doing it, it's what I have always done ever since I started playing chess, because there is no kill like overkill and no overkill as is as satisfying as when you start playing with the power level of a declawed kitten to end up the most powerful entity around. Still, I must say that it would be much better to have a NG+ like in the RPGs like Dark Souls and The Witcher 3, where players restart the game but retain all their gold, abilities and most of their gear, except for things like main line quest items that move the plot forward. The enemies scale up but at least this sort of effort isn't wasted, this would be like starting a NG with level 713 in DS.
Oh my god, I'm not crazy! When I was grinding in P5R, enemies kept giving me lower experience, and I had no idea why- I was even wearing the glasses, so that made me even more confused! To think it was just dumb math... thank you for revealing the truth!
SMT games scale experience. So once you hit level 10 how much you gain decreases. Also the experience gain lies to you. If you are level 15 fighting level 9 shadows and it says you gain 90 experience it's actually more likely that you gain 45 exp. This gets worse as you level up. It's what keeps the game balanced. Therefore the time it would take is obscene. Unless they completely took out the exp scaling in royal but Atlus wouldn't do that. That'd Ruin the balance in an already easy game lol
That sounds unfair but it's completely necessary. I'm playing Royal on Hard difficulty and still finding it too easy most of the time. Royal gives you so many things to increase your power, I actively avoid leveling up too much in order to keep things balanced. Granted, I've finished vanilla twice so I already know my way around the game, so of course it has to be easier than the first time around.
@@CidGuerreiro1234 I don't think it's unfair at all. I wished more games had it this way. The reason I like it is it forces you to try skills and equipment (In SMT at least) to Strengthen up as opposed to just grinding for hours to get stronger. It has a highly developed buff/debuff and Magic weak and strengths system. These games force you to strategize as opposed to a Final Fantasy where you can just level up to beat the game. Sure the stats help you from leveling but the real way to Best this series is by learning it's mechanics. These games are already incredibly long even if you just run through. And honestly you level up fairly quick if you push forward anyway as the exp you gain from higher level enemies boost your level. You can take out enemies 20 levels higher easy if you learn their weaknesses and use buffs and debuffs. To me there is nothing unfair about it. If anything I find it balance well. P5 is an easy game anyway. My comment is in reference to every single SMT game ever made even the DDS games on the famicom and the spin offs. I appreciate the scale and glad they have kept it even 33 years later.
Just discovered this channel. Too late to be one of the 10k, but I'm here now nonetheless. Several thoughts after watching and reading the comments: I estimated around 12 days, and I was correct. I played Persona 5 for around 350 hours... on the first run... Yeah. I feel pretty silly about that one. Kinda worried I'll do that again with Royal now. Already around 30 hours and I'm mid April... So on pace for another 300+ run... Wow. You can't do the reaper exploit anymore!?! Guess I'll have to find a new way to grind to 99 late game... Not even going for 100% in first run by the way, just me being me for the most part and taking way longer than necessary to do simple stuff (Also over analyzing stuff and taking too long to make little decisions...).
Well, I finished it.

if your goal at the start was to get perfect fights without blowing sp/hp you could have gone with Izanami no okami as its "Victory Cry" ability fully restores hp/sp after combat so its an insanely good thing to run if you are grinding
As someone said " If you give players enough freedom, they will absolutely optimize the fun out of a game"
This shit so true
Bro NO! As a fellow JRPG veteran I don't want to see you suffer with this man. This challenge is insane. I almost fainted when I saw this video title 😭😭 yoooo it's not worth it dawg 😂😂😂 I'd rather make a fully edited 30 min video talking about why Mitsuo Kubo from Persona 4 is my favorite character than do this shit 😭😭😂
My mans really said “oooooh, look at this rare candy factory, sure would be a shame if someone had a Pokémon with abilities that allow the use of elements to break into it and use all the rare candies inside to become a god”
I have a few new game ideas and videos, just gotta make em happen!
Man, this really reminds me of Veghesther and Ulililia, they used to love breaking games at the earliest opportunity.
another challenge youtuber. BRO. YESSS
Joseph Nicholas I can feel the sarcasm in this lmaoooo
@@YourBudTevin actually, no. I love watching challenge channels and there aren't many of them. Happy you were recommended because no one has tackled persona yet.
Joseph Nicholas oh! Well, welcome! Normally people are just giving me shit lol. Glad to have ya!
Excellent math. I agree with you wholeheartedly!
XD

Oh shit. He's gonna have to do it.
Damn I hope this actually happens I’m bored in quarantine and wanna see this
Anyone coming back to watch after tevin got to lvl 99?
Giggling like a little kid and haven’t even passed the first minute.

I believe in them
I mean, Cartman maxed out his WoW character by grinding boars in the forest near Goldshire so I suppose it's not impossible.
edit: I mean it's probably easier if you have insta-kill so the second palace would be ideal but the first palace? Now that's a challenge lol.
Moooooommmmm!! Time to poop
The best way to beat kamoshida's palace since kamoshida gets exactly what he deserves.
I’ve actually been wondering the answer to this question for a couple weeks now, and it seems even more painful then what I would have expected
Well now, colour me morbidly curious and afraid of your life. I'll await your power leveling with much interest.
I've been rocking team glasses since vanilla P5 and I can definitely say it's the best Accessory in the game. I got to level 99 in Royal in Sae's palace which is something i didnt think was possible in the original without the reaper cheese.
Mementos and Mishma's confidant will make it even easier to grind
@@BitchChill yeah with how they buffed mementos and mishimas confidant already giving a lot of xp, PLUS the 10% (i think) extra xp from the team glasses, its so easy to level up its insane.
@@bradleysmith4967 You get 15% from the glasses
Better than I remembered, were they 15% in vanilla too?

Damn, CZcams's recommendations are thinking that I am a sadist.
it may have been hell, but this is what made your channel explode
I just speed runned till getting to mementos and just keeped grinding till I was able to challenge the reaper then keeped doing that till I reached lvl 99 and was to reach it by night time so in total 24 hours
I thought I was already subscribed but I wasn’t and now you’re a step closer to the challenge
YES PLS I WOULD TOTALLY WATCH THIS! got nothing better to do in quarantine.
some people use quarantine to focus on themselves, hone their skills
some suffer for the art of entertainment, thats just showbiz baby
One must suffer for their art
You know what I was just thinking about this I know that dude did something similar in Final Fantasy 7 and it took him roughly 500 hours or 20 days from his count and I can tell you that doing this will be a real pain in the ass the best advice I can give you is have some music at the ready or some friends to talk to while doing this or grind to a certain level for a few days then play another game or do another challenge so you won't get burnt out and don't forget to save your data because that would be absolutely painful if you got so close to completing the challenge and the power went out or something like that
So this is where it all started
Subscribing in hopes to see the torment in the future
It’s already finished friend
@@YourBudTevin Then i will have to look ad see if i can find it lol
im glad to know someone has enough time to grind about 5-20 or less exp after level 15 and up i usually call it quits on a palace every 15 levels
at the beginning was Silva gunner music.
Right lol, probably he got confused like Nintendo Italia some years ago
Dude respect the one of the only guys on CZcams doing challenge runs on persona 5 and persona 5 royal
Basically it’s always yes, the real question is how LONG.
Goro Majima that’s why you’re one of my favorite characters Goro
YourBudTevin I preciate ya!
Using reido kuzunoha clothes ?
You are a man of culture indeed!
I like the battle song in that clothes, besides it looks cool tho.
You might've figured this out already, but they actually changed exp modifier in Royal. Merciless now gives the most exp out of all difficulties.
Is that true? I never played merciless on vanilla P5 because of the exp lmao.
A slight optimization is use the stairs to reset the area instead of going towards the throne room. Took me about a minute to destroy all 3 and reset the area by sprinting to the stairs and back.
Hm! This is way more optimal. Thank you!
PatDawg wdym neutralized? (Pls no spoilers tho, I’m just past okumuras)
You're channel has grown with this challenge! Congratulations on finally finishing it bud!
This is a whole new level of self punishment I have witnessed.
man the first 45 sec of the video already killed me.. tbh you deserve more popularity
"I would like to get 30k likes on this video"
*Im doing my part!*
this is interesting, there's another fact is you can get 102 exp by not ambushing the Shadows and let the Shadows hit you first. that saves some time more.
FOR REAL!?
I have no doubt. And that is freaking amazing.
You know that you're gonna have to play this for 11 days and 19 hours straight right?
Hehehe looks like it!
Those combined with Mishma's confidant ability, and mementos EXP set at 200% should make grinding easy
the question being
"how much do you hate kamoshida?"
yes
To think you got 13,000 subs in one month. You more that deserve it, every video is hilarious!
When you get 10.1k 53 minuted after uploading 👀
I’m blessed
There's no way you'll get to 30000 likes
Prove this guy wrong pls

Thanks for the guide, now I can finally beat kamoshida on normal mode.
You don’t need to do this because you can max out HP and SP through gym eventually.
You are absolutely right, if he ever gets to the 90’s he’ll be getting about 1xp per fight
Think about fighting enemies on floor 1 of Tartarus in P3, those guys will give you 2xp once you reach like lv30
Houdini Fontmeister Absolutely right, I hate when people say these games are “too grindy”
There is no grinding, if you know how to count cards ;)
Just discovered this channel. Too late to be one of the 10k, but I'm here now nonetheless. Several thoughts after watching and reading the comments:
I estimated around 12 days, and I was correct.
