Do you know about how ball spin, spin rates, and spin axis work to effect ball flight? We'll also go over the origin of these spins. These inputs will also effect your ball as it checks up on the green to work for you or against you with roll. Use spin wisely.
I look forward to working with you much more in the future with Top Speed Golf. Good luck with your golf.

I've been playing for a year now, and I was really needing to understand all of the science behind this because it's just how my mind works, thank you so much for making the video! None of the pros who have taught me explained any of this, they'd do well to learn from you too! Liked and subbed!

Wonderful explanation of golf club launch attack angles, ball spin , air streamlines relative to the ball resulting in curvature in flight left to right and vice-versa , spin axis tilt and more. Great for the technically minded.

    Great video and explanation!

Brilliant explanation, simple and clear, congratulations! Another way to explain it is to make a force analysis and you can show that if the theoretical point of impact is not centred with the center of gravity from the ball you get two forces acting on the ball, one is perpendicular to the face of the club and this one is responsible for the direction of the after the impact and the other tangent to the face and creates a torque and the consequence is the spin of the ball.

Hi Clay, I live on the UK, so it's unlikely I'll have the pleasure of meeting you in person let alone have lessons with you. I too have been following you on 'You-Tube' for some time and always enjoy the content and more importantly your style of teaching/explaining. Making the complex uncomplicated takes knowledge and understanding of your subject, AND students.
So keep the videos coming and my best wishes for success, health and happiness to You and those you care about. John M. UK.

    Clay,
I have been watching your videos on youtube for some time now and I think your videos are great. Repetitions are key to learning anything in life and the way you always break down what you're teaching into parts and suggest that us viewers do sets of 100 reps is great. Maybe I just haven't picked up on this yet but where is it that you are an Instructor? Hopefully in Phoenix Arizona because thats where I live and I have come to the point that I want a coach/instructor. I just can't see paying a great deal of money to someone who Ive never seen before and I really like your style of instruction.

+nahshon cline Hi Nahshon, hope your playing well. I am out of Orlando Florida. My website, Top Speed Golf, has a very inexpensive system that you can follow to develop your swing. If you have any questions, just let me know. Play well! ~Clay

What’s happens if you could have zero angle of attack with zero loft? I assume ball wouldn’t rise. Then if you swing out to the right, but face down target line, ball would have side spin.

great video! does spin access impact my overall spin numbers? Or is that simply impacted by spin loft. Reason I ask is because it hit up on it 3-5 with left path at 115mph and bad shots spinning around 4500 with proper fitted club. going 270. My good ones go 330 with lower spin still hitting up 3-5 but with 2000 spin. Not sure what is causing the major variance in spin between shots.

was just wondering where did you get that spin axis visual of the ball on the stick or otherwise how did you go about making it.

Hi Jermaine, that my friend is homemade :-) It's just an alignment stick through a foam ball. You can pick up an alignment stick at any home improvement store for about $2. You can get the foam ball at about any hobby store or most any store with a hobby department. I hope that helps. Play well ~ Quentin | TSG Instructor

The pressure reduction is due to the increase of the air flow around the ball and explained by the Bernoulli law, higher air speed means lower pressure.

Very interesting. You have not taken Gyroscopic effect on spinning ball.

High Clay here is an idea for another video. But when you record it it face away from the camera to show the axis angle working as a draw, fade, straight shot, hook, slice. I really hope you watch this link it only goes of a minute and once you see it you will definitely make your own video which no other pro has done before.
