  • What a week it has been in Australia, especially for those affected by the floods in Queensland and New South Wales. It's been a bit hard to describe the range of emotions we have felt since arriving, but today that feeling is that of gratitude. After driving many hours to try to avoid the storms and flooding, we find ourselves feeling extremely grateful.
Unfortunately, thousands of others here have been devastated by the floods. If you are able to, please consider visiting the following links to learn more about ways you can help:

Just watching is exhausting. Amazing you are both staying positive and also noting it is much worse for others in the area. Stay safe! Thoughts go out to those that lost so much during the flooding.

That rain chased us south from Gladstone Qld to Wollongong NSW. You were heading north, we were heading south. We were also in a campervan.

Well done Guys for making it to Coffs Harbour! I honestly thought you'd get stuck before you reached northern NSW. I had a look at the weather forecast for the Queensland coast for next week and unfortunately it's going to rain but hopefully a lot less than what you have experienced so far. If you have the opportunity to end your camper rental early, consider taking a cheap flight from Coolangatta or Brisbane south to Melbourne or Hobart where the weather is nicer although cooler than up north. You might be able to salvage your trip. Keep FNQ for next time when the weather is better usually between May and October. Keep positive and drive safely.

    Hi Guys,
I am one of your Thai subscribers who has lived in Australia 12 years ,, we who watch you have been worried and praying for you in the last few days.
The news says this is a one in 1000 years event , we checked all the news feeds today and pretty much everywhere north of Coffs Harbours is much much worse than where you are now.
    1000s of homeless people
You can get a flight to cairns or anywhere else in Australia from Coffs Harbour ,
All of us agree you should cut your losses and fly out of that area it is miserable and dangerous.
Some Weather channels are predicting rain everyday until August 😳
Please consider our thoughts carefully , we all wish you to be safe.

You guys are awesome. Have you thought about temporarily going inland a little away from these coastal weather events and visit some inland country towns that are enjoying a run of sunny days. In a week or so hopefully you would get the opportunity to check out the popular coastal towns once it eventually clears. I guess that depends on whatever time constraints you have to complete this leg of your travels however your own safety needs to be paramount. Bless you both, keep smiling, be kind to each other and please take care :)))

I’ve been looking forward to your ‘drowned rats” video and it didn’t disappoint.
It’s a shame you have been caught in the kicking Mother Nature is giving Aussies over being such stubborn climate deniers.
At least look on the bright side, the water in your camp area wasn’t deep enough to attract crocodiles, it wasn’t cold and Mother Nature didn’t go with the rampaging bushfire scenario, so your lungs are free of smoke. The countryside is soon going to be ablaze of colour due to abundant water and the wildlife is going to be happy with the resulting lush grass. But that will most likely result in lots of wildlife baby making and thus a mouse plague later in the year (like what overran Western Oz last year).
It a shame the kangaroos are stressing Lisa out by deciding to make kamikaze runs near the campervan. She need to work on a better “don’t you dare” death stare.
Just remember that when the sun finally comes out, to wear a hat and put on plenty of sunblock as burn times are a lot quicker in Oz than in other countries.
