Chiefs are the gold standard in football
And now I think Andy Reid can be considered the best coach of the Super Bowl era, all due respect to Vince Lombardi, Bud Grant, John Madden, Chuck Noll, Don Shula, Tom Landry, Bill Walsh, Dan Reeves, and Bill Belichick, who I think can reasonably be considered 2-10 in whatever order you want to put them.
Here's why: Reid has already collected, between his Eagles and Chiefs tenures, more wins than any coach all time except Belichick, Shula, and George Halas and trails only Belichick in postseason victories. He's the only coach in NFL history to lead multiple franchises' all-time coaching wins list and the only one ever with 100 wins for each of multiple teams. He's one of only three coaches ever to coach 4 straight NFC championship games and the only coach ever to host 5 straight AFC championship games. Most of the guys I named except Madden and to a certain extent Shula are pretty synonymous with a single Hall-of-Fame quarterback: Lombardi Bart Starr, Grant Fran Tarkenton, Noll Terry Bradshaw, Landry Roger Staubach, Walsh Joe Montana, Reeves John Elway, and Belichick Tom Brady. Reid meanwhile has had success with three good quarterbacks (to say nothing of his time in Green Bay working with Brett Favre) and finally reached the ultimate pinnacle with the Hall of Famer he'd been looking for for 20 years. And his coaching tree stands out as well in terms of Super-Bowl-winning or other prominent head coaches: John Harbaugh, Doug Pederson, and Todd Bowles headline that list, with others like Sean McDermott and Ron Rivera making positive impacts for needy franchises just as Reid himself has done twice. The primary knocks on Bill Belichick, whom many considered a few years ago the best coach maybe of all time, are that his tenure without Brady as his quarterback is somewhat mediocre and that the coaches he has developed haven't had the level of success Reid's have.

I think I like the Chiefs in the underdog role, because an underdog is a hungry dog. Chiefs and Mahomes seem to thrive on doubters. Hopefully after they beat the Ravens, the 49ers win so it'll be underdogs again. Go Chiefs!

Mahomes has dismantled the top defense and line multiple times in both the Super Bowl and in Championship games multiple times. Lamar Jackson has...a 2-3 playoff record? We match up best against Baltimore in terms of scheme and personnel with our corners and pass rushers. It's going to be another Super Bowl and 1-4 Lamar against Mahomes head to head.

The chiefs were underdogs last year as well. Nobody had them beating the Eagles. It fuels the team, and sports writers gotta stop doing it because I guarantee they use the media hate as bulletin board material in the locker room and practice.

A lot of these ex chiefs I see at lifetime and it’s really cool to see how tight the community is here in KC, I played ball with Tamba and Will and some of the older cats from a decade ago. I love this city and the people who live in it, and this chiefs production team always makes me more proud when I watch how awesome their edits are.
