Everyone in this vid is a major cutie! Love your channel tons, really helpful for a prospective st andrews student :-)
I can’t wait for Uni overall but St. Andrews has my heart rn
Hi, thanks for this it's really useful! I hope to apply next year to study Italian, Spanish and Arabic/Russian. For Arabic, do you know if the whole course is Modern standard Arabic or if the students are exposed to dialects too? This would probably affect my decision, but I can't find this info anywhere. Thanks!
Gordon Gecko hi love it’s definitely in standard textbook Arabic - I believe only kids who go on study abroad trips are exposed to other dialects. I hope that helps! x
Hi, quick question: how many IB points should applicants have so as to actually have a chance of getting in? The website says 38 but most people have told that in reality it's much higher.
Hello! So neither of us did IB, but after speaking to some friends who did - 38 seems about right, honestly it depends on what subject you want to do, some are much more competitive than others. One of our friends for example got a 36 but very high on the subject she wanted to do as her degree so she got in. I assume subjects like IR are very competitive and possibly Maths and Physics but I am pretty sure there's no exact number. Also as someone who applied thinking they wouldn't get in due to grades I got before applying (I got AABC at Year 12), I found that things like your personal statement make a huge impact.
