Soft spoken Lennox Lewis at his best was the total package. The last undisputed Heavyweight champion emerged as cream of the crop against some of the biggest punchers in Heavyweight history. Lennox avenged his only two defeats by knockout. He didn't make excuses for his losses, he said, *"It's Heavyweights, you can get caught, but i won the rematches in style,"* and *"Show me a Heavyweight champion without a loss and i'll show you a fighter that fought a lot of nobodies."*
In my opinion Lennox Lewis is the GOAT. To hear 58 year old Lennox talk so clearly and eloquently after going up against 18 Heavyweight Champions is remarkable.
The 18 HW Champions Lewis faced: *Vitali Klitschko, Evander Holyfield, Mike Tyson, Shannon Briggs, Frank Bruno, Tony Tucker, Hasim Rahman, Oliver McCall, Mike Weaver, Henry Akinwande, Tommy Morrison and Ray Mercer were later recognized as WBO champions, British HW champion Gary Mason, European HW champion Jean Chanet, Commonwealth HW champion Derek Williams, Canada HW champion Razor Ruddock, IBF/WBF HW champion Michael Grant, and WBC International HW champion David Tua...[[ technically not all were 'World' champions but champions nonetheless ]]. Other notable mentions; Olympic HW Silver medalist Riddick Bowe, Olympic HW Gold medalist Tyrell Briggs, Andrew Golota, Zeljko Mavrovic, Frans Botha and Phil Jackson*
The difference in lucidity between Lennox and Holyfield is staggering.
Yeah it's a rarity that the best fighter of any era speaks clearly with no physical signs of ever having been a fighter
To me that's a rare type of greatness
Well said.....Lennox would've beaten any heavyweight from any era....GOAT
YOU MADE YOUR POINT WELL!
"It's annoying that we can't go back in time..." That's today's journalism for you.
But we can build a flux capacitor and give it our best try.
Absolutely love the way Lennox talks.
Lennox would smash Fury to pieces. No Mas!!!
Lewis would get bleaaached by FURY 💀
@@smackingnoobsonfriday134 A boxing channel is not a place for a 12yo, boy.
@@djo-dji6018 He's right. Lewis had no chin. I rate him as one of the GOATS, but he was fragile.
A bit old now...😅😅😅.
@@TheStraightestWhitesthave you seen any Lewis fights? who he fought? Fury would lose 9 times out of 10.
Lennox was a true Boss.👊
is that the guy who got knocked out twice? 🤣🤣🤣
@@lil-hawk3 He avenged both by ko and one in an immediate rematch which was very one sided.Have a nice day:)
@@lil-hawk3all heavyweights get knocked out, if they haven’t then they haven’t fought real competition.
Lennox is the heavyweight GOAT.....prime Lewis would've smashed any heavyweight from any era, all of them. For me toughest opponent for him would've been big George Foreman, but still see his jab and power as enough to beat him.
@@leighfletcher7675 lol he got knocked out cold 🤷♂️😬🫣
What people don’t think about is Fury has come into the heavy weight division at a time without Lennox, Ali , Forman , Marciano , Louis , Holmes , Mike Tyson ,Frazier,.. he never would have lived with any of these
He’s so underrated had everything to his game
Steady on Lennox, you’ll have big John after you !
Headbutt at the ready hahahahha
Still the ultimate talker Lennox’s knowledge of the fight game is second to none ❤
LEWIS WOULD OF DESTROYED FURY IMO.LUCKY ENO TO SAY I SAW LEWIS FIGHT AT THE OLD WEMBLEY ARENA AGAINST THE LATE GARY MASON .REST IN PEACE GARY 🙏
I don't think many would disagree with Lewis
My earliest memory of boxing was watching Lennox vs Tyson in the early 00s
What a fighter he was!
Get in there parsnip 😂
Parsnip 😂
Lewis vs Fury. I'd lean towards to Lewis. Great fighter in his prime.
I predict Fury fighting off the back foot and Usyk having to take risks and coming undone
It’s a 50/50 fight. I’m nervous for both guys. Tyson has the height, reach and weight advantage with great Ring IQ as well. but Usyk has fast feet and great angles and also great Ring IQ. Hard to see a clear winner. If Tyson Fury can control the range and box on the outside and mix it up with some brawling he wins. If Tyson can’t adapt to Usyk footwork and angles he will lose.
It’s easier said then done to beat fury
Would be amusing if he answered the questions back in 3rd person mode as in his fighting days... "Lennox Lewis believes Tyson Fury will win on points" etc.
The only unchecked box in the era Lewis dominated was never getting that fight with Bowen made. What real fight fan wouldn't have wanted to see that?
Bowe
Lennox "Myselffffffff" Lewis, one of the Greatest Heavyweight Champion, Top 4 for sure if not 2.
Who u got above him?
@@leighfletcher7675Ali
Lewis is probably no 1, but difficult to pick. Ali was so quick.
Real talk! Lennox ko Fury in 6 rounds
Tyson would of found it difficult to keep Lewis off i think, he was the total package
someone remind lewis a prime never rotted in jail tyson would have merked the boy
Lol,, lennox knew that already, that's why he never wanted Tyson in his early years.
@@mauriceosullivan6832 What early days?? Lewis turned pro in 1989 and Tyson was getting punched all over the ring and knocked by James Douglas in 1990. The earliest they coulda fought was 95-96 when Tyson famously ducked Lewis and paid him 4 million NOT TO FIGHT. Lewis has a far, FAR stronger record and resume then mike, he made way more title defences, beat more world champions and beat more hall of famers, the only numbers that tyson trumps lewis is number of losses, lewis lost twice while tyson lost 6 times, Lewis avenged 100% of his losses, Tyson avenged 0%, Lewis also beat 6 of their 7 common opponents easier/quicker than tyson did. The list goes on. Lewis is way above tyson.
Wtf u saying? When they were both with cus Lewis had his number after just one round.....on top of that a 'prime' Mike tyson paid step aside money to not fight Lennox.....Mike tyson, the biggest promotion in sports history.
@@leighfletcher7675 Yo i 2nd dat,,, as much of a phenomena M.Tyson was (&2sum xtent still is) people &xperts in the industry get WAY 2carried wid M.Tyson, wen u break dwn his resume it comes no way close 2 L.Lewis', E.Holyfield, L.Holmes 2name but a few. L.Lewis was a harder sell 2da casual audience dats y e aint looked upon wid da recognition as M.Tyson imo
Easy to speculate but guess we’re never know who would have won fury or Lennox
Lennox Lewis was the best Heavyweight champion IMO he was a pure boxer, controlled ranged great and adapted against his opponents. His prime was 29-34 years.
Also the best resume in heavyweight boxing 👌
Everything seems easy until you have to actually do it
Why would there be a third fight between Usyk and Aj because Usyk won the first 2 fights???
but Lennox himself said he didnt fight the real Mike Tyson
He would eat them both at the same time
The next flight is not about the belt😮
I firmly believe sportsmen only get better as time progress. Diets get better. Techniques get better. Training gets better.
You're forgetting the ultimate factor that ruins all of that... Time equals Age, the older you get, the harder it is to do all those things you said
@@jimreaper1337 I think they mean that over time the best fighters are better than previous generations.
This is True with almost every sport. Apart from this Eras Heavyweight division in boxing for some reason. Its clearly a level or 2 below the standards set in late 80s 90s and early 2000s
@@user-nv2en9gb9o I'm not so sure about that.
I believe USYK will be Victor by split decision, and I see Fury hitting the mat a couple of times and recovering...USYK has quicker hands and feet,,, and I can't see Fury knocking him out. 😊
I always said Lennox would beat fury 99 out of 100 times 🥊
I think fury publicly said he’s like 266pounds coming into this fight if he lies an he’s like 250 or Somin he’s running all night like fury wilder 1
Dream on mate
Yeah, and you didn't think you would lose to Rahman and McCall either. But I agree, boxers with perfect records built it fighting a lot of 2nd raters, and at least a few bums. You were one of the all time best, and beat many top fighters. Maybe you would beat Fury, maybe not.
Usyk doesn't beat Lewis. Lewis was too precise. He'd jab Usyk to death and wouldn't run out of steam by the 8th round. Usyk has no way of hurting Lewis.
Lewis is a funny case underrated when fighting way overrated after retirement
Wladimir Klitschko was equally confident before he got schooled and his brother who is widely regarded to be better went life and death with Lennox. Fury has proven he’ll fight to the death, so it would never be easy for Lennox as good as he was
Locked in LOL. He bottled it, he showed Usyk he's abit rattled. His body language was pensive but then leaky AF. All over the place. Can't wait for all these backing Fury to see the light.
Lewis would have cleaned out this weak era easily. Nobody actually fighting each other and they have it too easily.
Sure Lewis...you got KO'd by Oliver McCall and Hasim Rahman. You only barely beat Ray Mercer (MD), and went the distance with many other fighters....Mavrović, Tucker, Billups, and Ocasio. Bruno was no way near the skills of Fury, more like Joshua. We really do not know who would beat who because it is not a given that Lewis beat Fury.
Lennox IS the best heavyweight from GB, but Fury could change that tomorrow night!
To be fair Fury does say he’s Irish though and represents Ireland when he fights.
@@alexreid4131really? Wow I would think he represents Gypsy tradition when he fights! What do I know huh
@@alexreid4131Lennox is from Canada but represented 😂 least they like to fight for us .
Lennox is Canadian . Hate when people say he is britains best, he only came over here to capitalise on Bruno’s fans, he’s never even lived in the Uk as an adult
@@dwaynedibley997He was born in London,he lived in the UK until he was 12,that makes him English.
Fury would annihilate Lewis
Prime Lewis gets Tyson out of there round 5
Lewis would smash Fury and Wilder on the same night.
NO WAY hasemm rahman put lewis out cold so did olliver mccall
That's heavyweight boxing mush.....rahman getting merked was better tho bro 🔥.
Why keep asking about AJ, he's a wash-out last 4 fights totally awful been beaten by the only 2 decent fighters he's faced and ducked Wilder for 7 years.
Sorry but cannot compare any heavyweight boxer today to Lennox Lewis, far better class of fighters back then and Lennox beat them all, well 99%,any day of the week he would easily be at Fury, not knocking Fury but division is so weak nowadays,Fury is best now but would be in top 10 in Lewis,s day
No chance bruno gave hima scare fury would have too slick mr lewis got knocked out twice remember
As a proud Brit, I don’t know why more people don’t discount Lennox Lewis as the greatest British boxer. In my eyes he is a Canadian, always has been always will be, this man has never lived any of his adult life in the UK. He only came over here to box to capitalise on Bruno’s fans as no one in Canada cares about boxing
a fair point
West indian 1st Canadian 2nd British 3rd (he was born here) as iam a half cast, very proud of lennox, never felt that way about frank, living in the UK, if you know what i mean ! h a r r y
As a proud 🇨🇦 we are happy to claim Lennox as ours no doubt! And fyi, there’s a LOT of Canadians who love the sport of boxing but our national volume gets turned down as we lose many of our fighters to 🇺🇸.
Go fix your goofy teeth 🦷 you bozo lol 😂
If he was born in London he has every right to call himself British. Don't care where he lived or who he represented in the Olympics. Katie Taylor fought for Britain in the Olympics but she will always be Irish.
Lennox destroys Usyk
Agit kaybayel beats usyk
Tyson Fury Is Undefeated On Paper. He Lost To Francis Ngannou. Lennox, Mike Tyson....Much Better Fighters In The Heavyweight Div.
Cant really compare eachother when as they faught in diffrent times but lewis was and is one of the greatest but fury is also there aswell
not a hope lennox would beat fury. lennox was a late bloomer and only had a few years at the top fury has been at the top for ever and will retire champ.
Lennox takes Fury apart no doubt about it. He knocks Tyson out cold. Alongside Muhammad Ali, Lennox is the greatest heavyweight of all time
In your dreams 😂 lewis got knocked out by 14 loses oliver mccal and got knocked out again by another journeyman lmao lewis would get BLEAAACHED by TYSON 💀 Lewis simply doesn't have what it takes to beat tyson fury 💯
And for ali no impossible to even stand a chance vs fury ali got outboxed by journeyman Norton and schooled by 17 loses journeyman spinks FURY would be too much for ali 💯
@@smackingnoobsonfriday134 It seems the only way to beat Lewis was to land a lucky punch, it happened twice, Lewis came back both times and avenged his losses, Lewis beat vitaly klitscko, Ray Mercer, Mike Tyson, Evander Holyfeild, Tommy Morrison, Razor Rudduck, Shannon Briggs, David Tua, Frank Bruno just to name a few, giving him the second best resume in heavyweight history. Also - Hasim Rahman was no journeyman, he was a world ranked contender and retired with 50 wins 41 kos only 9 losses. Rahman kod Corey Sanders who slept prime Wlad Klitscko in 2 rounds, Fury tickled a 40 year old klitscko to a decision. lol.
don't be silly
Anthony Joshua would absolutely MURDER Lewis
Joshua wouldn't beat Bruno never mind Lewis.🥊
Lennox waited until Mike Tyson was out of his prime he a clown 🤡 he should box him now lol
You have that arse about face, Tyson paid $4 million dollars step aside money to fight Bruce Seldon it was Tyson's camp that didn't want the fight not Lewis
Lewis u got knocked out by 14 loses journeyman oliver lmao u have no business with fury 💯 tyson fury ain't no oliver mccal 💀
Fury lost to John Mcdermott 😂
And then beat him. Fury lost to john mcdermott, ngannou. Down against cunningham, neven pjanic and was asleep against wilder. Fury is nowhere near Lennox. The Fury hype ends Saturday night.

He would have!
Fury beats Lenix but would be good fight and prime mike KO Lennox
Facts
Never in a million years. Lennox fought everyone. Furys resume is weak. Lennox better than Fury in every single way.
Lennox got Mike's number in 84 sparring that's why he didn't want to fight him, said in front of cameras "I'm not ready for Lennox Lewis yet" (difficult to find but it is in some documentaries on YT you can find it), and paid 4M$ step aside money.
Tyson Fury is not in the discussion, his best win is an old Wlad, struggled against bums slayer Wilder who has no boxing skills, only punching power. Got chinned by people who hit half as hard as the ones who could knock down Lennox.
Lennox would knock him down again and again until the ref has to stop it like Grant, Briggs, Golota etc.
Don't be stupid. 😂
Prime mike
What years were they?
Didn't this bum get ko'ed by 2 lesser bums? Tf is he talking about?
Easy to say something that will never be proved. Lewis Fury would be a great fight though. If you think Lewis just destroys him, you're just a stupid casual, sorry.
Lewis all day. Dedication, luke is a fluke
Today's heavyweight in boxing of these days are bunch of clowns 🤡 compare to era of Lenox and Mike and Evander ,
Lewis would have destroyed Fury, Fury isn't even the best in this era and this era ain't shit
