i can just smell the bus thru the video. those green seats.
I remember that smell well.
Not to mention if some kid puked and the driver would put that gross stuff over it that looked like cat litter and the smell of that plus the puke made all the kids start gagging. 🤣
Bus is an early 80s Ward Ford B700 and green seats make this thing even cooler
The F O R D letters on the grill feels strange to me. I'm used to later models when Ford replaced the letters with their blue oval.
I'm jealous of that kid's Sega jacket.
If you're talking about the kid's jacket at 2:20 that's not Sega, it's SCCA, the Sports Car Club of America. It's a race car jacket. The patch on the bottom left is the logo of the Hallett Motor Racing Circuit.
My school district had outdated buses, so I grew up riding buses like these in the late 2000s.
The funny thing about the Ford school buses in this video is that grill design was still found on school buses that were built new even a decade after this. I remember during freshman year of high school (2002-2003), the driver would occasionally drive a Ford Thomas body school bus that served as a spare if the regular bus was out of service. That bus was a 1991, and it had a grill like that.
I was in 3rd grade when this came out, so I probably viewed this very film at school back then 😊
I loved rding these old 80s school buses and the green seats are so cool
Ms Crabtree: SIIIT DOOOWWWN AND SHUUUUUT UUUUP! DOOO YOU WANT AN OFFICE REFERRAAAAAAALLLLL?!
I never rode the school bus to school when I was growing up. I was lucky that my mom would take me to school and take me home. I only took the bus when we all went on field trips. I did occasionally take the bus to our local career academy that was affiliated with our local high schools in the area. I stopped taking the bus to the career academy once I learned the roads well enough to drive on my own. I haven't ridden a school bus since 2007.
Glad I grew up riding in 80s school buses... they were much better than busses from today
I rode a Ford AmTram handicap back in my day. That good 'ol Allison whine!
Oh my God she had an automatic transmission early 1980s Ward on a Ford chassis with that column shifter. NICE. Good school bus right there that was built to last.
True story... I rode the bus from 1976 to 1982. We had 2 buses in our small school. We had two bus routes north and south. 2 buses and 2 old men who were the drivers. The south Bus driver would smoke pall mall no filter and the north driver smoked a pipe. I rode Mr. Cardens north bus and LOVED that smell of his pipe. NO ONE CARED!
This was filmed in Kansas City Missouri
The narrator sounds more 60s than 80s.
I wonder where those buses are now
cash for clunkers got rid of all the old vehicles
they were all scraped under obama
Probably retired or even junked or something.
School buses are getting rare in our areas. Most parents opt to drive their kids to school nowadays and students can use city transport instead. The problem is that school bus service was never complimentary, and I think the districts raised their fees a lot.
I remember seeing this in 1983, I remember the kid in the garbage truck eating the banana lol
I went for a ride to school 🏫 on a school bus 🚌 as a kid from the late 1980s til the mid 2000s. I miss 😢 these times ⏲️.
Best bus ever! 😂
This came out before I was born
Kids in this video in year 23 are around age 58-59 or 60 years old . Just thought I add that. 😅
Most likely early 50s not later. Assuming they are 12/13 year old here. 😂🤣
@@beekarinsaan 😂
The School Buses today are nothing like these ones they made and operated back than.
This was a very informative video.
can u get the long version of THE STraNGER? 1965 or 1955/ filmed near us,,,,,
4:07 ROAR!
5:06 that looks very strange
Around the first part of this video, the little girl walking along the road all alone should have been pointed out by the narrator to never do that and to always walk with another child or a group of children, but never all alone.😕
1:00, lol, anyone can drive a school bus. They must be talking about Rick Bus Company in New Jersey.
Why there's no seat belts on these kind of buses, you would have to extend time to ensure everyone on board is buckled up.
Wow a year later The Terminator was released.
Anyone have any idea where this was filmed?
Arrive 5 minutes early
why do the kids not have backpacks why are they just carrying a book when I was in school everyone carried a backpack.
We didn't use backpacks in the 80s.
@@danlewis3605 why?
@@danlewis3605 Lol, I was a child in the 80s and I remember using a backpack. But maybe they didn't become popular until later on in the decade? I know there was one kid in the video using a backpack.
We had lockers and only brought home books for homework.
At 4:10 the kids are taking a shortcut through Thomas Jefferson's yard.
This is cool it brings back memory from my elementary years.
I think 🤔 that there should be seat belts in every school bus in Vermont and every other state
I know that some people think it's funny to talk nonsense such as about other people's backpack or something, but this is about school bus safety. I know I might be classified as a mean man for blocking people, but this is not funny.
