Here Be Barr love you bro
my favorite thing was the Cleopatras Needle.... i had no idea that was there! We hope to visit NYC next summer.... we have taken many many ideas from your videos John.... thanks very much for this!
I am a history buff❤❤
I visited Central Park in January this year on a beautiful -23 degree morning. There was a dusting of undisturbed snow covering the ground and I think i was the only person brave enough or crazy enough to be there......it was beautiful.
Here Be Barr You had testicular cancer?? 😮😮😮😮😮😮😮
Two years cancer free that’s such a beautiful thing to hear I’m happy for your victory ❤️
amen
For runners, the outer path around the entire park is great little 10k route.

I’m going to New York on Thursday for the first time in my life and your videos have been really helpful. Great job Jon 😃👏🏻
I hope your visit here was everything you expected and that most of us were friendly and helpful.

Im going today for the 1st time, with my 15 years old daughter. Im so exited, I live in NJ and never had the time. Im planing to go several times this year to enjoy every spot in abundance. My favorite was the museum, there is were we are going today, God willing. Thank you so much for the virtual tour.
I loved the Alice in Wonderland statue...this lady couldn't bear children, so her adoring husband built this
in her honour, for young children to enjoy and climb over 😍😍
That view from the Met rooftop is amazing! Great tip
Great video! But you missed the Central Park Zoo on 65th St and 5th Ave. Actual penguins and polar bears in Manhattan😍
It's one of the most depressing zoos ever. Beautiful, but depressing. They don't have polar bears anymore, haven't for around a decade. Lots of penguins tho. Sea lions, snow leopards, red pandas, grizzly bears, snakrs, monkeys, some other animals. He also missed the children's zoo, Victoria Gardens/Wolman Rink depending on the season, the castle, as well as a million other things. It's a huge park with a million things to do. Lived in NY my whole life and I haven't done it seem a lot of it.
When I worked at the Park Lane I remember hearing the seals barking from the 46th floor (Top floor)
One of my favorites is Belvedere Castle.
I am going to Central Park for a whole day long relaxing trip after Covid is gone.
I have spent so much time in Central Park and never knew about a few of these places. Putting it on my list! Thank you!
We are exploring the park together in June ! DEAL ?
True! Most people just wander around the park, with no special aim.
I just thought it was a park to walk around in. I had no idea there was so much to do at Central Park. I absolutely fell in love with NYC. It's like going to an entire another country.
I've never been to the roof at the Met. I've been to the boat pond, but haven't rented a boat. Instead, I took pictures of the boats. Most of the time when I visit Central Park, I just wandered aimlessly. It is how I have learned so much about it.
I'm a semi-regular tourist in the city about 5 times a year, and I've been dying to find things to do in Central Park outside of the traditional stuff. I appreciate this video, and also the content you put out!
Thanks !
If you say semi-regular going 5 times a year, I dont wanna know what it takes to be a regular
My aunt used to live on 90th and 3rd and we walked over to the reservoir alot. Some nice views from that area. East side. For those not in the know.
Hey, John! Just wanted to say thank you for all your videos. I'm a born and bred Long Islander, who after 35 years is coming back to visit in 2024 from my now native Latvia, northern Europe. Your tips are a great help and videos so interesting -- NYC has changed so much, but stayed the same. But mostly just wanted to say I'm also a cancer survivor (13 years) and wanted to say to you -- keep on going, man! God bless!
About the Alice in Wonderland statue. There was a time when wealthy people contributed public art like sculptures, fountains, and other creations for all to enjoy. I admire and appreciate that spirit. I love Central Park. All I do is roam, walking from one end to the other without buying a thing. It's the best activity of all.
Love from Indonesia ❤️❤️❤️
And congratz for your 2 years free cancer!!!
Class act production! I loved how you intertwined the history of the Park with the actual pictures of the park.Great job!
My favorite thing to do in Central Park is the row boats. Sometimes I’ll even go all by myself. I also used to enjoy riding my bike in Central Park, but the ride across the GWB started getting too crowded so I haven’t done that in a while. I also like spending time in the Central Park Zoo. It’s not the biggest or the fanciest zoo in the city, but I enjoy it. 😁
There must be a bus that takes bikes.
Now all we need is a best places to visit in Central Park in winter video.
Thanks for helping to raise awareness about testicular cancer - more common than ppl think
Jon, wonderful job with the video - many people miss out on the northern end of the park, which is amazing in its own way (as you explored). I wouldn't miss wandering in the North Woods (get that real forest feel in the big city), stopping by the Lasker Rink/Pool (depending on the time of year), the Mount (yes, CP/NYC's HUGE compost pile! I couldn't believe it), walking/running around the reservoir (which has its own incredible history), and of course, visiting the Balto statue near E 67th. Again, great work!
Totally enjoyed this video, so many fun things to see and do and all walkable .... glad you're feeling better 🙂❤️
As a western Canadian unable to travel I cannot tell you how much I appreciate this tour ❤
Seeing some these places remind me of when I worked in the city, this park was the quiet place to go when you need that relaxing moment. Yes the roof top is the place it used to close at 9 or 10 pm it’s beautiful to see the lights around the park. Thank you keep working there’s the whole island of Manhattan that I must say there’s beauty and peaceful places to be there any moment.
Yup. No. 1. Last week I 1-dered around Central Park at my first visit to NYC, and loved it. Thank you for all your videos and wishing you all the best in health and love.
The best part of Johns videos is that he highlights the price for everything. REAL NEW YORKERS DONT WANT TO SPEND MONKEY! Lol. Great video as usual.
Great video Jon and Team Adriana! This channel is the best NYC channel on CZcams without a doubt! I agree with a comment someone has already posted here, the outer path really is great for runners, my hubby and I run that route all the time and it's definitely one of the best in the city. I'm so happy that you mentioned the Conservatory gardens, being Italian myself, the Italian garden is one of my favourite spots in the park. Central Park is beautiful all year but I find it so gorgeous in the fall/winter when there are orange and red leaves everywhere 🍂🍁🗽
I enjoyed the Central Park. Best time ever. Especially The Balto statue.
Thankyou so much man, me and my wife are going to nyc this weekend i took notes and we will definetly do these stops . Thanks
Great video, was in Central Park a week ago on first visit, saw the tiled ceiling, beautiful, took a row boat on the lake, strawberry fields, boathouse cafe, and wandered most of the day. Love NYC,can’t wait to come back🗽🇺🇸🗽🇬🇧
Yess! We can hear you! Thank you so much for sharing!
Thank you for your video tour. Amazing job. God bless you
Beautiful list of things to do! Thank you so much for making it as I plan to visit New York very soon just to see this park and enjoy it to the fullest!
Me ha gustado mucho el vídeo, gracias! Estuvimos ayer en Central Park por primera vez y me ha encantado!!😍
We are going for the first time to NYC in early December and this info is wonderful! Like our own tour guide! Thank you!
Such great content about Central Park! I’m binge watching all your channel dude! 🙌🏻
So many cool hidden gems in the park! I really like that roof top view that was amazing!
You missed the iconic Belvedere Castle by 81 street and great lawn
Heard you on the whisper bench. There is another place like that in London’s St Paul’s cathedral. It’s called the whispering gallery and is situated up high in the church. The sound waves travel around the circumference of the structure - an interesting natural phenomenon.
🌲🌝☘️
Whispering gallery is often used as a great example of arcitectural precision that is absolutely genius.... in cut/carved STONE!!
Unbelievable,,, and Christopher Wrenn was one of a kind to build London after the fire
Heh,,,, I am actually pretty well informed for being a Norwegian
Thanks so much John. I've planning to use some of your guide videos for more than a year. Hope covid allows that my family abroad can come visit us soon and put your tips into play.
Really great video! Thanks very much for the suggestions.
Thanks Jon, I want to visit NY some day, I want to see the park, twin tower memorial, Times Square and the Statue of Liberty. Your reporting is fun to watch, can tell you love what you are doing
Thanks again.
Great video. Super informative and helpful for visitor! Thank you.
Love, love, love all your videos! Super informative and fun to watch. Coming to NY next week and you've been sooo helpful! Greetings from Costa Rica! :)
I love Central Park. We love to just go up there and explore the park for the entire day. Excellent video!
Yes, could hear you at the whispering bench portion of the video. That monument with the ancient hieroglyphics on it looks amazing! When it got to the sheep meadow part of the video, I realized what I originally had thought was Central Park is only one area of the park. I never knew how huge Central Park is.

Great energy, great tips! Thanks!
Hey, just wanted to say that I am really happy that you are putting your talents to use and I am so happy to hear that you are cancer-free! Be unstoppable man and Merry Christmas! 🎁
Went there with my family last year and we did things on a whim! We enjoyed it and especially my parents. Didn't get to see strawberry fields but just gives us a reason to back to NY!
Love this! Great video!
thank you for this great video! very good preparation👍🏻😊
I've watched so many of your videos today for a trip I'm planning. ty
I love all of your videos, I have been living in New York city all of my life and I didn't know all of the wonderful places and things that you can do here, thanks for sharing.
I would love to see a winter version of this vid! :)
These were really helpful! My other half and I are both moving to NYC and as a photographer, these tips were great for me to start making a list of places I’ll be frequent.
Thank you for the tour video been watching all your videos. can't wait for tomorrow I'll be in New York City
Great tips!! Thank you
Thanks, I enjoyed exploring with you. My favorite things...."If" I were a kid, (I still think like one) I'd be climbing whatever that big natural rock formation was. The rowboats look really appealing to me. Eating an ice cream and just sitting on a bench people watching.
Thank you very much, totally informative.
15 and counting! Great ideas in your video: a few more:
-- The beautiful bridges -- especially the Bow Bridge for the most beautiful views in the park over the lakes often filled with several couples rowing and the grand apartments of Central Park West, including the Dakota peering over the treetops.
-- The Rambles which feels like a true forest that you can even get lost in, with hilly trails and beautiful views at every twist and turn.
-- Seeing concerts of the NY Philharmonic on the Great Lawn, with 10s of thousands of people on the lawn with picnic baskets and bottles of wine soaking in the most beautiful music as the twilight sky becomes darker and darker and where you can actually see the stars right in the beating heart of NYC.
-- Having lunch or dinner at the Boathouse Cafe or at Tavern on the Green, with their sublime settings, and quite good food.
-- Taking in the breathtaking views from "The Pond", a smaller lake in the Southeast Corner of the park, framed by towering trees and the beautiful buildings of Central Park South gracefully rising above the tree tops and with the new soaring skyscrapers rising above those.
-- Watching genuinely spectacular roller skaters just south of the overlook of Bethesda Fountain.
-- The broad walkway along the east side of Sheep Meadow, with towering old trees lining the walkway.
- Without Central Park, NYC would .be a different city entirely. It serves as the "back yard" for millions of people. Its the beating heart of the city -- its lush green Center, its very heart and soul.
I love the Rambles. I think it's my favorite part of the park.
Thank you so much for this amazingly informative video! My bf and I are heading to NYC in October and Central Park is already on our list but thanks for making everything so easy to understand in terms of how to get there and the individual cost + prices of it all. Looking forward to a great time when we're there!! Keep up the awesome videos!
Keep up with the videos 🔥🔥🔥 love from one New Yorker to another 🙏🏽
Arriving in NYC early Saturday morning. My first visit. My trip is short so I can only do a short visit to the park so this is so helpful. Will definitely visit the park for a few hours.
I could hear you, definitely want to go here, we will be going there in late September.
Thank you for making this video!
great video John , a really good insight into the park .
Going to NYC in September so this is very helpful. Glad to hear you are now cancer free. Had my own brush with "the big c" about 5 years ago (thyroid cancer) but seemingly now clear of this curse thank God. Remain well my friend.
Great video. Thank you. We just came back from a winter trip to NY. My children really enjoyed ice skating at the wollman rink and I spent several hours in the chess house playing with locals. The running was great, too.
Love your videos John keep up the good work!
This a park that visit literally all the time!! So relaxing to walk around and just hang out!! So I guess the best is #1
Awesome....yes we heard you on the bench whispering! Lol.....

Hi John. Hope you're well. I'm just watching some of your NYC videos. I love New York. Bringing my son in April 2022 from UK. I've been a couple of times but now he's coming with me.
Very good video. One of my favorite places in the park is Belvedere Castle and it’s surrounding area. It also serves as a weather station. Very cool place. Also, there is the Central Park Zoo which is very nice.
I heard you on the whispering bench! That's so cool. I love your videos 🙂
Wonderful video. Thank you
Would love to see a video on other parks in the city, like Flushing Meadows (lots of stuff to do there, site of two Worlds Fairs)

I hope mid November is still an okay time to go out there :x Just found your videos and I’m really grateful. I live an hour north and have been to the city a thousand times, yet avoided big tourist places. You’ve convinced me to go.
Grew in North Jersey,& yet really underestimated this gorgeous park! Thanks for enlightening us.👍
Thank you for the ideas. We'll be spending a week in NYC in 2 weeks.
The path around the reservoir. Great for walking or jogging, great views of the surrounding towers, especially at night.. although don't do it alone at night.
Thank you very much 👍 I have been in NYC many times but never been here . I will definitely bring my kids here in Spring Break time.
We just returned from NYC and walked around Central Park only seeing one of the fifteen things you mentioned here. We do plan to return in October 2023 so we'll make sure to follow your awesome guide! Thank you!
