Liberace was one talented guy. He could sing, dance, played a mean piano and pulled of successfully a little bit of stand up comedy in his act. He was the definition of pure entertainment.
This was One of the best I’ve ever seen. Not only was Liberace the best pianist in the world he was a good singer- Dean Martin and Lee were wonderful in this clip
I've been told that Liberace was the kindest, most respectful and pleasant celebrity in the world. Never heard a bad thing about him, no diva antics or anything. He was the target of so many jokes too but never let it bother him. He once put it perfectly: When asked by a reporter how he felt to be the target of so much ridicule he answered: "Yes, I cry all the way to the bank!".
Liberace’s smile can still make you feel like dancing and singing. Love him. We need more people like him in our crazy world. Wonder what he would think of our present day politics and problems. God bless his memory.
He had such energy it’s so hard not to enjoy watching him perform. It’s a shame this quality of entertainer is consigned to the history books. Great to watch two of the big names together, here.
@@nancyterrywhittemore2015 I was just a kid when the Dean Martin Show was on but I believe the world was a better and friendlier place with our entertainers having a cocktail and a cigarette and a laugh or two instead of making pronouncements on social media

Without rehearsal, and singing right on-the-beat; great rhythm; impeccable enunciation; perfect pitch; hitting all the notes and sustaining each note the perfect length; blending voices seamlessly AND making it look so easy. Yes, true talent.
@4.0 - 4.05 "Nothing murky, nothing arty, we just have fun" Deans whole philosophy summed up in just 2 lines - and the perfect answer to those critics who always say he could have been an even bigger star if he had 'only taken his work more seriously' That just wasn't Deans style, he left that to Sinatra. Oh, he could be serious when he needed to be (in some of his more dramatic film roles for example) but Dean had a wonderful sense of humour about life, and many of us (including Frank) love him for that 😍
Can't help but notice that Dean kept his hand in his pocket while Lee was getting chummy and putting his arm on his shoulder from time to time. Loved Liberace as a kid, and still do, but there was a guy's code in effect here. No blame or judgment, just an observation.
When Martin & Lewis were a team, they couldn't keep their hands off each other. Their old stuff is still up right here on YT. Dean had no problem being near gay men like Charles Nelson Reilly, Nipsey Russell and Dom DeLuise. But Liberace was... well, a great entertainer, but not the kind Dean would get cuddly with.
Arnold Stollar Entertainers used to be able to do that... and keep in time, with a full orchestra behind them, all playing in harmony. And unlike today’s ‘stars’ they didn’t need a stage full of pyrotechnics to distract the audience from the fact that they can’t actually carry a tune in a wet paper bag. Truly talented performers like Dean, Frank, Tony Bennet, Peggy Lee, Ella, and a host of others had learned their craft slogging for many years round night clubs and 2nd rate theatres until they reached this sort of class that makes it look so effortless.
Elton John copied him brazenly, but nobody called him out for it. Not nearly as talented, as gifted or as kind, but he used Liberace's style and act, funneled it into pop music, and turned it into a hit style. With his lousy voice.
Good. I'm not the only one angered by this. Elton should have AT LEAST mentioned Liberace more in his career and not let his memory die out like it has.

Dean was the most class act ever, no one can touch his style and persona!
You can say that again.
Dean and Liberice sung medly of songs. No rehearsals. I still love Dean miss his face and voice. Love him.

Liberace used to have the most lovely and welcoming smile in the world! He gives me happiness when I watch him smile.
gay to say
MrEricStarr
Homophobe thing to say.
im gay dumb ass
Two great performers, no doubt about it, but I have the feeling that Mr.Martin was a little restrained, subdued in this performance.
Me too, he makes smile!
Two greats will always be missed sheer talents
deana, you had the greatest dad ever. And I mean the greatest..
I miss talent and shows like this.
You could tell they loved life and they wanted to share that love with the audience
U can understand the words. I love both of them.

The sad passings of Dean Martin and Liberaci left huge voids in the world of show business. They were sensational and are unforgettable.
KUDOS TO THE DUO & ALSO TO THE VERY CREATIVE WRITERS....A FUN TIME FOR ALL...INCLUDING US!!
Love these 2 Liberace is just so welcoming and sweet
Interestingly, commentary about Liberace was quite the opposite, Liberace rehearsed everything down to perfection. Great number regardless!
Liberace start the day with a smile

Love to hear Dean Liberice sing.
Dean Martin was the ultimate crooner. 😊
Lee singing to Dean. How cute!
Two Greats Dean so mellow, so smooth. Liberace Pianist First Class, simply Fantastic.
Pure art from them both!!
After the Ball is over. What a great year.who needs reshules.
Magnificent! Well deserved place in my favourites!
Phyllis Diller and Liberace together would have made one heckuva a sitcom/movie duo team. If I could go back in time, I'd make that happen.
Amazing personalities and talent.
just too sweet. love them
when i look at deans face , i imagine hes got lots of mischief in his mind....hes always so funny

Real entertainers how novel
Two completly different styles 🤔🤣
If I had the choice I would have preffered Dino. 🌹
Dean enjoyed everybody and had several gay characters over the years such as Paul Lynde..
Elvis once shot the television screen out when Robert Goulet was on, Lol... At least once that I've heard!
True talent 🎉😊
Just subscribed to you
Great clips!!!!
just seeing this ! puf puff puff
Deano looks off his face!, Liberace was holding him up.

Does anybody know to what melody they sang in the first part?
After "After the Ball" the tune was "The Band Played On".
Do those two look related to anyone else.

Did Liberace smoke cigarettes himself? I'm just wondering because Dean Martin is smoking right beside him.
He was also a chain smoker. Had emphysema when he died, though obviously not what killed him.
