Moat Mountain is pretty awesome. Unfortunately, I haven't been there in many years. Probably one of the best pieces I've seen from there was a large cabinet sized parallel growth smokey amethyst crystal cluster. It was AMAZING!!! So, some pretty special pieces can be found there. Keep it going, I love your videos

*HOME!* my favorite place on the planet. Wish I had the money to go home, tramping through the woods, hiking the mountains, reading and dozing in the sun by the rivers. Up in the highlands of the Northeast kingdom, north of the notches is the best place to be. Glad you had a good time and you're sharing your positive experience with everybody?😄

Hey, that's pretty much where I grew up. As soon as I saw the covered bridge and the river view I almost jumped out of my chair. Awesome!!! Obviously wasn't last week. If you ever get back out that way, at least poke your head into Ruggles Mine down in Grafton, great mica pieces and some occasional quartz crystals, at least there was many years ago. I actually found a cathedral piece there that I just found again packed away in a box that I had completely forgotten about and it's soaking in soapy water as I type. If you see an old guide book that talks about the staurolite at Perch Pond in Lisbon, don't bother. It got bought and someone built a house there, I think I was one of the last people to get something out of there, that was probably 2 decades ago, maybe a bit less. There's great stuff up in the whole Northern New England area, plus it's downright beautiful. Glad to see you got up there after Herkimer.

Moat is one of my favorite spots, and I usually get up there several times a year. Even though people have been digging there since at least the 1940's there is still amazing stuff to find. Back in 2020 I found a decomposed pocket with several huge, fist-sized smoky quarts crystals. If you plan to come back, I'd love to meet up and prospect with you!

Hi Bryan, another good location for those who can get there. A bit far for me so I’ll have to watch on from here. Those specimens may not be large but they appear to have great formation from what I can see. Keep Safe & Keep Rockin

Yes they are really cool, and I hear that the crystals and this location have been found up to a foot-long, I guess I need to go back and look for the big ones, 😂

Thanks brother! Fond memories of the first Topaz Mountain Dig in Oct 2020!! Definitely going to have to check this place out next time I am in the northeast! Working on our plans for spring/summer/fall digging. Let us know what your travel plans are and when the Crystal Clubhouse digs are going to be so Rose and I can plan them into our digging season! Hope you are well!

For sure we’ll be doing lots of clubhouse digs this year, we would do one at Moat Mountain as well, right now the next one is going to be in Missouri. I may do something while I’m out west near Tucson next week but will be on the spurt

People have been digging there since the 60s. But there are spots there that you can get into Virgin ground but its a lot of work. Just up the hill from where you are i got a smokey/topaz pocket. I have topaz growing on smokey crystals. I haven't been there in a few years but definitely going back next year. You did really good it can be tough there.

Not after the fact, I guess what I was trying to say is as you’re digging sometimes it can turn into more colorful blue types and different things, you can find different ones
