"Do you like it when he asks you?"
    "No."
Pedophiles often say "they wanted it" or "they liked it" when asked how they could sexually abused a child. You can see that in his facial expression when he asks her. He was expecting to be told how much she enjoys it. But when she says no and sees the look of pain in her face, he comes to the realization that he's been lying to himself to justify the things he's done to kids.

Walter is probably the only one she's told. And if not, then she thinks going to a trusted adult isn't going to help. Also it's probably not easy for kids to go to the police and tell them that someone they love is hurting them 😢

A very interesting take on this that I learned from a fbi agent teaching a sex abuse class was that most pedophiles are turned off when they find out a kid has been sexually abused by someone else!

Always thought it was interesting how much sympathy he shows for her when he realizes she’s being sexually abused by her father. I know it’s because he was also having an epiphany of how damaging sexual assault is but that moment seems to come later. I just think it’s odd how you can want to take advantage of someone but feel bad at the thought of them being taken advantage of by others. I was groomed as a child and often times encountered men who had this same thought process. Never understood that.

I think it is like many things in life. You don't see the error in your ways until you see other people commit those same errors. From the outside you see more clearly.

Hannah Pilkes only really does comedy skits these days. Maybe she found acting a bit tough emotionally after this scene.

There is nothing he can do for her. If he reported what she said to authorities, he’d just go back to prison since he’s violating his parole just by being at a park. It’s very sad but it’s a key turning point. He finally realizes the pain he’s caused his victims after seeing how broken this girl is.

@@jollyroger6135And victims of abuse don't usually willingly go to the police. And for Robin, even though he's abusing her to her he's still her dad. So it would be conflicting for her 😞

      So cringe? No, so "normal".
It might be "cringe" if Robin was a rare case, but she isn't. She is just like the majority of people (both male and female) that you'll meet in your life. Hurting, "damaged," trying to act "normal" while dealing with shit. Thinking they're alone when, in reality, they're just like everyone else.
