Hey guys! Today we are in Davenport, Florida and we're going to be talking about some of the Pros and Cons of Living here, things to avoid, and things I absolutely love about this rural city! People have been moving to Davenport in droves this past year and I wanted to explore some of the reasons why. Lives in Davenport over a year now and we love it. However I4 will give you time to examine all your life choices if you commute to Orlando.
The traffic in Davenport is horrible. The freeways are always packed and so many aggressive drivers. It may say 20 mins to Disney but it will take almost 45+ minutes to get there and home.
Love it!! Traffic is the worst part of living here. Besides that its great!
Greetings from a Davenport/Champions Gate resident of 8 years whose job is in Winter Springs.....big improvements are coming...traffic will eventually no longer be an issue as anyone that buys in the Champions Gate/West Haven/Davenport north of I4 will be in great financial shape...in other words...your investment as of 2021 will never leave you upside down if you get a fixed rate mortage....especially in Davenport where Poik county taxes are lower. Lastly, I4 exit 58 had its expansion expedited due to demand and there's an Advent health about to be built across the street...trust me....buy while you can
The Traffic just became worse with all the Building near Champions Gate Exit 58, the Diverging Diamond Interchange improvement doesn't work if you are unable to get onto the I-4 Entrance Ramp!

i live here. it sucks
one thing for sure, lots of the same houses and palm trees as well as lightening strikes. :) One if my favorite things. Reading a book to a good thunderstorm!! Then out for a beautiful sunset bike ride!! Also air bnb 5k a month. All I need is a decent house, and to live in one bedroom with a mini book shelf and desk for computer and start my own air bnb business so I can easily clean and maintain the home correct. And a mini above ground pool outback! :D
I just bought my first house in Davenport. Looking forward to moving in soon.
We moved out 3 1/2 years ago from Providence Development because of the Traffic Congestion which became Terrible 4 years before that.
Loving Family Friendly Community which has many local amenities and events for all ages. Home of the Roadrunners Beep Beep! Opportunities to explore while utilizing local venues and individuals to Excel in a learning enriched setting unique to the area and in the development of future. It has a lot to offer to the young and elderly with some of the best educational and innovative approach to interact and support intriguing minds and the loving hearts of all who are apart of this community. I thank God for all of my friends and family in this area and most of all for the friends who became my family. That is rare and a very big blessing. ---tj hunter

North davenport is better.
The closer to 27, the more crime.
Crime is much better than other counties.

Traffics is horrible and to get to Orlando during weekdays, you’re looking at 45 min to an hour

Lived here and all around central do all my life Davenport it’s starting to get to expensive with all the vacation homes☹️

Champion Gate Exit is Probably Worse.
IDK about affordable anymore 😂 but we just went under contract in Davenport at KB Homes so this was super helpful!

Moved out of the Orlando area three months ago. Traffic and cost is rough! Looking into Davenport area for rentals/eventually purchase home. It's beautiful out there. Would rather drive 40 minutes opposed to being stuck in traffic for 40 minutes
Trust me I totally get what you mean, it feels like traffic is just getting worse and worse no matter where you’re at in Orlando
It will take you 40 minutes to get on I-4 from 17-92 near Providence / Ronald Reagan Road area!

I'm moving back to Davenport next month. I lived there years ago and I loved it. I'm finally moving back. Location is great. Close to I-4.
Is it close to the beach? And or there city buses and jobs there?

I use to live in Davenport, on Ronald Reagan in a community called Loma Linda. When I bought my house in 1991 there was nothing there, Including Ronald Reagan. It was just called CR-54

The growth rate is insane in the Orlando metro area , anywhere within decent driving distance to Disney and Universal. It's become just an asphalt jungle with a million cars and people driving like maniacs.
I don't get how people can stand the traffic along with the high humidity and heat. One or the other, but both together would be insane.
I'm living in Kissemee,and the traffic is horrible.Davenport is beautiful.Reuion has the best golf courses in the area.But who can afford 7 thousand a year on top of HOA.But there is public.
Looking to move to this area in the next 6 months, looking for a rental for my family of 6, myself, wife, and 4 kiddos for at least a 4br 3 bath place. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated?

Davenport - There's certain stuff in my Geenes which makes me like Certain things. Don't know Why?
How are the schools? And jobs there ?
Jobs: A+ if you're in the medical field. Most people commute to Orlando/Tampa, hence the horrendous traffic merging from hwy-27 onto i4. In both directions. Schools: eh, hit or miss my kids did K thru 12. We moved from NYC years ago. It depends on how motivated the child is. The Charter School system is pretty ok. Not too hard to enroll during the open enrollment period.
Public transportation?
We are considering different communities in Florida to retire to. Traffic doesn’t really bother us, but we were curious about public transportation since we will probably have visitors from overseas who do not drive. Does Davenport have a bus system?
Not that I’ve seen, it is a very car dependent city.

Davenport like most of Central Florida has all of that in abundance, I wouldn’t worry about not having the appropriate access to those things!

I was just there on vacation at the Windsor resorts, I fuckin love Davenport, fl. Me and my wife are planning to move there next year. I heard they do not get hurricanes that’s a plus
It’s a great place to live! I still say though they definitely get hurricanes occasionally because it is in Central Florida, especially July-September (From a life-long central Florida native 😉)

Nearest Sams Club is in Kissimmee about 10 miles away from Champion’s Gate area on Highway 192. I’ve heard they are building a BJ’s at Posner Park which will be much closer and easier to get to.
