      He is the most clear example of an artist who took the wrong career choices. When he put his wife as his manager and decided he would not get a proper producer and in later years not even a real singer.

      @nc3836 Před 5 měsíci +4

      @juancarlos-dx1or And musically he wanted to do it all himself. Well they music production is horrible songs the same and his voice not good. I have zero idea what he's trying to prove. Mind you I'm a lifelong fan alway a 1st day buyer of all his albums but the last 10+ yrs not one. He needs some who can write better songs and real producer.

      @@kevinstreet220 Agreed! _Alchemy_ had some good songs, but it didn't get played nearly as much as the _Facing the Animal_ album. Cozy Powell definitely had something to say when it came to mixing the album, because that is his drum sound. And Mats Leven is one hell of a vocalist!

    Well, in all fairness, the reason why Ronnie James Dio left Rainbow in late-1978 was because Ritchie came up to him after they finished the tour for _Long Live Rock and Roll_ and told Ronnie point-blank that he wanted to change the direction of the band to sound a lot more like Foreigner. And, let's face facts, with Joe Lynn Turner, that's exactly what they got (although they still remained harder/heavier than Foreigner). Now don't get me wrong here: This is not a knock on either Joe Lynn Turner or Foreigner. Both are great. It's just that that style is extremely different from how Rainbow started with RJD. But I've always loved Lou Gramm and Joe Lynn Turner's vocals: Rich, soulful and bluesy but also commercial as well. And both are good ol' Italian boys: Lou from Rochester NY and Joe from Philadelphia. Both are Hall of Fame singers, figuratively speaking.

    In my opinion, one of the best live numbers of the Rainbow days is "Spotlight Kid" - I'm thinking of a performance recorded in Japan, if my memory serves me correctly - it's true Rainbow - in the lineup that included JLT - was quite obviously seeking greater commercial appeal and that turned off some fans - yet a number like "Spotlight Kid" performed live (at least on a Japanese tour - I think) reminded me of DP Mk.2 in terms of explosive spontaneity and cohesiveness and that was due in no small part to JLT's vocals !

    A lot of people think Yngwie is difficult, but it is strange that a lot of musicians do not find Ritchie Blackmore that difficult to get along with who were in bands with him: Joe Lynn Turner, Ronnie james Dio, Bob Daisley, Don Airey...suggest Ritchie not that difficult.
    Joe Lynn Turner and Ritchie Blackmore also factor into the Andrew Aycock situation, the guy who ultimately led to Randy Rhoads' death as Ritchie fired Aycock because his aura was bad

    You can easily see that Joe admires Ritchie and doesn't think much of Yngwie . Ritchie didn't think of himself as a superstar of Rock , or as the best . Even if he was a superstar of rock . Yngwie lives in a fantasy world where he see's himself as one of the best players of all time . He does the same boring routine musically for 30 years , he can't adapt to anything and you can see this when he covers Deep Purple , or Jimi Hendrix . Can't do it justice how "they" played it . Has to be about him and speed ... Another difference between him and Blackmore , is Blackmore had real hits with Rainbow . Yngwie even with Joe couldn't have the same kind as his playing was over the top . It would never appeal to a wide audience . Just a small group of people who like fast shredding .

    "I tell Polygram, I can't spend another minute with this guy!"
    Polygram: "Here's more money."

    Polygram: "OK, here's even more money."
    (another month later): "That's it! I'm done!"
    Polygram: "We ain't given you anymore money."
