hi you can vault + steal 100% of the time easy, you just do it wrong. To do it right you aim the vault at your own position and steal at the aftercast of the fault dodge shortly before you hit the ground. edit after balance patch: Well looks like the damage just got removed rip

Hi Noody! Starting to play a thief and want to learn from the start, so that's quite a great guide. Is "Tip 1" = "anti evade roll back" still available in Oct 2020? I can use your help how or when to press jump to cancel staff 3 evade. I'm trying this for a while at a dummy, and never managed to stand at the spot without rolling back. Can you advice me on the timing or correct delay of key 3 and SPACE bar?
use your vault on self cast (use it on your hp circle) and steal just when you are about to reach the ground. That way they get hit by steal and vault the same time and pretty much instakill. If you cast the steal too early, or not cast vault under yourself it wont work properly.
#1S looks pretty fancy but on #7 I get same problem when i dagger/pistol 3 and do dodge with bounding dodger, you get the dodge then shadowstep or shadowstep then dodge orjust steal or dodge while flying or shadowstep dodge and port back to place you started to cast it (that happened only once in 80 tryes). I like that mechanic but its really hard to do in combat if you have lot of different ways that combo poop out :/(.
Hey for the vault trick just cast vault at your feet and press steal as soon as the cast bar goes past half the charging time. This way you will land both steals and vault at the same time on the target
@@Noody czcams.com/video/L1sHFkNCoew/video.html i made a video of it a long time ago basically the way it works. hit box is generated by location of your weapon means when you cast backstab an travel threw a player you able to hit back of them without turning around. way backstab works is it pushes your weapon 10 range forward so when you just pass threw them you hitting boundary of - hitbox created by player. or you just watch video first one is forward back stab second one is normal backstab. hope it helps ^^
vault + steal combo got removed , now ppl have to use staff 2 + steal for oneshots .. such a huge nerf xD .. tricky part is just landing entire chain of staff 2
I might since ele gets boring sometimes but i might duo main if that makes sense. I’ve alr have a thief alt I use. Also, ele will always be my class no matter what lol
oh i can do with a sub rn, maybe a footlong spicy beef supreme... Also, ty so much for these thief tricks! pretty awesome! and they also translate well into tricks for several other classes!

ANet clearly watch my videos. After my deadeye video they made it so you couldn't perma stealth in marked areas, they nerf s/d after I make an S/D video and now this pointless change to vault+steal after it wasn't even being abused. ANet will be hearing some shit from me very soon, trust me.

Sadly the staff 3 jump has been nerfed

I'll have to try it on my ping and see if it works, but I believe it was only really working precast for me :(
