Honestly that guy who gives claw machine plushies to random kids just gave me hope in humanity. This is a genuine and wonderful human being who warmed my heart so much. It’s so sad someone so pure got treated so poorly for their kindness.

8-9 is definitely a little old to still be using women's bathrooms. I only let my nephews use single bathrooms when they're available and if not, as a victim of child abuse, we've made it very clear that their and other people's private areas are completely off limits to look, touch, or even talk about by anyone other than they're mom or my mom who basically raised them.

for me it would depend on the kid himself.
if the kid has some form of mental or physical disability, then i dont care, the kid is probably better in the ladies' room than trying to use the mens room alone.
ideally, family restrooms would be available for people in these situations, but that may not always be an option.

fun fact: tap water has higher standards than bottled water in places with good tap water. and tap water needs to be insanely cleaner than bottled water needs to.
this doesn't apply to the USA for those of you in the US our tap water standards are based on property value and even then still get a filter or use a zero water pitcher because our water can't be trusted.

I mean it won't give you the runs or anything but depending on where you live and the history of your city's infrastructure and if the pipes were or are still lead (this is a big one to check) and if the pipes are ever cleaned (hint: that's hardly ever) you could be slowly poisoning yourself they add the chlorine (which the dose they put in isn't harmful) is supposed to kill whatever toxins are left but i would rather filter my water than trust even local politicians who can be bought off. In certain cities or towns the water is actually undrinkable flint, Michigan is just the most well known and all these years later the water there is not drinkable at least since the last time i checked. That's if you can get water, there is a small town in California that has no running water and depends on a well.

Reminds me of something I overheard years ago. Was waiting for my order in JackintheBox. This girl, an employee working behind the counter, could not believe that she lost her second job. She was fuming. She went in yesterday, and they told her to leave. Why? She hadn't shown up for 2 months. Technically, she quit but they had the nerve to remove her from the schedule. I still can't believe it.

the kid with the seafood allergy is having an anaphylactic reaction based on the fact that they break out in hives. It's just not severe enough, the not-being-able-to-breathe severity level of reaction could happen literally any time they're in contact with seafood, it can be totally random and is more likely the more frequently you come in contact with the allergen
I'm Australian (Brisbane/Moreton Bay region) and my mother only drinks bottled water. I can understand my grandmother who lives at Kingaroy to drink bottled water since their town water is basically mud... but my mother?? Our tap water is perfectly fine, delicious even, turns the frogs gay
it might be habit, if she grew up in Kingaroy she might be used to drinking bottled water, and may just default to it out of habit and subconsciously remembering that the water where she grew up wasn't that safe.

Honestly I’m the same tap water just tastes like fluoride for me I hate it. I usually get the massive bottles in an attempt to not waste too much plastic and recycle them, it’s also cheaper that way.

The one about the OP with allergies is hella relatable. My fkn step mother and her husband are the same way. I'm allergic to lentils, tree nuts, and somewhat recently (post-adulthood) developed an allergy to shrimp and fish. They have never believed me, even though the first time I claimed I was having a reaction, I was 5 YEARS OLD and didn't even know what allergies were. The most f'd up thing about it is that my step mom's husband is deathly allergic to all kinds of seafood, but instead of being empathetic, he claims that I'm lying because he's "never seen me have an allergic reaction". Yeah...he's never seen me eat anything I'm allergic to because I refuse. And when I DO accidentally eat something I have a reaction to, I start spitting constantly because my saliva gets really thick, my throat gets tight and itchy, and I get very hot, like feverishly so. Not sure wtf you'd call that except "allergies". Guess he idiotically thinks that the only type of allergy is the one that kills you, just like he thinks the only seizures (which I also have) are the ones where you start foaming at the mouth and violently convulsing.
