Hmm, no earthquakes have ever occured in Bisbee in modern times. Not saying it can't happen some day. Just saying I would never buy earthquake insurance if I lived in the area.. nor would I ever worry about an earthquake.

I live in a small cave in Spain. One metre thick walls and a 2 metre thick roof keep me warm in winter and cool in summer. This whole area is full of caves and cave houses - even cave pubs, hotels and restaurants! Some are hundreds of years old.

The location appears to be Bisbee, Az., a very charming, old copper mining town built on the mountain side with wonderful history and colourful town folk. It is today an artist colony about 12 miles from Mexico. Very isolated desert living, though I would love to live in this cave home!
OMGosh.....This is by far the most beautiful, interesting, happy home that I have ever seen !! It's my dream, to live in a cave of sorts. I've seen others, but yours is perfect. There's nothing I would change. I so LOVE the water!! What a prize to come across. And I bet it tastes SO good too. Well, I can tell that you deserve it. Blessings.... and Live Long!!
You people do realize anybody can die or be injured in a stick built home just as easily as this home. They are in a home made of Granite that had to be blasted to open it up. It was done by an engineer and had to be inspected and approved for "occupancy" just like a stick-built home. Also think about all the millions of people who live in thinly made Manufactured homes that are approved for home occupancy. People die everyday in what we call "regular homes".
Your not selling this beautiful home surely ??? Congratulations on your beautiful home - it is truly beautiful ! Good luck to you and your husband X Alison
Indoor freshwater spring too. I would be sold ! Imagine if war broke out. You are already in a safe cosy bunker style home with it's own endless spring water..
It is amazing! The only negative is I need windows! To let in the Fall breeze, and to air out when I Spring clean. But that being said, this house is spectacular. Sort of like when I was a little girl and would dream of living in a hollowed out tree like the "fairies". Yes, I believed in them and sometimes still do! Let us know if you encounter any little fairies!
WoW your very fortunate to have a house like that. I would love to have a house inside of a mountain and to have my very own art studio to paint my abstract art
awesome idea! I would luv to live in a cave. First I would ditch the lights and have them replace by torches. I would then have just a few bats to hang out on the ceiling during the day, let them loose at night(if they return) which they should. Also, dinning room table would be made out of slate to compliment the cave and your fountain(k idea). also, its sound-proof. Loud music, sex etc....and u-r "in the outdoors." duality is always inventive and intoxicating....of course u would get more incentives/ideas by living inside it....I would imagine.
That's the one thing I *wouldn't* be worried about. I live in a house from the 1920s in San Francisco that's built on bedrock, about 200 feet above sea level. Even the worst 'quake we've had since the house was built (the '89 Loma Prieta, magnitude 6.9) didn't do a thing; not even a superficial crack. On, or in, stone is the safest place to be in an earthquake.
@@joenathan8059 Exactly that. Depending on the rock, an earthquake is nothing to worry about, especially when the cave is rather small like this one. Excessive rainfall on the other hand can really fuck you up. I live in Austria, people used to dig out cave shelters in the woods during the war in order to escape bombing runs and the Russians. In the last few decades, some of those caves were turned into holiday apartments and the owners always complain about wet walls, mold infestations and warped wooden floors. There are also ongoing invasions of all kinds of insects and mites, which seem to find their way in there and cause a lot of trouble. But the real problem is an economical one. The heating costs are astronomical and the whole maintenance is a nightmare. Everytime a cable or a pipe in your house breaks, you need a specialized company to fix that. It takes days till they are done and the costs are immense to say the least. Due to the fact that the heating costs are so absurdly high, the owners won't live in those caves during the winter and/or fall, cause, honestly one might as well start a fire and use his own money as fuel in this case. Now if a house stays uninhabitated for a few months, this again causes all kinds of trouble, especially if said house is very susceptible to dereliction anyways, which means even more work to do and bills to pay. Also, internet connection is shit and you have to go outside in order to being able to recieve phone calls, which is an absolute no-go in most jobs today. I'm a cave lover as well, but there's no chance in hell I would buy something like that, at least not in this centuary and not before I'm a billionaire.
What a great experience that would. I always thought I'd like to have a home in one of those old military ICBM silos. It would do away with the door to door sales people.
The whole home looks pretty incredible, but the indoor fresh water spring blew me away.
yeah me too buddy it is awesome
took the words right out my mouth :) 😍😍😍
"Where have you been living? ln a cave somewhere?"
"Yes. That's right, bitch. As a matter of fact l have!"

Ultimate bunker....the fact of getting 20 Gallons of water per day in your own stream alone makes this a special find
Until theres an earthquake
Hmm, no earthquakes have ever occured in Bisbee in modern times. Not saying it can't happen some day. Just saying I would never buy earthquake insurance if I lived in the area.. nor would I ever worry about an earthquake.
@Leon Wilcox that doesn't mean things can't change in the future and theres plenty of things that could cause a cave in
