- Its time to take a look at one of my favorite Godzilla enemies and Kaiju, Space Godzilla from Toho's Godzilla series! Lets look at his profile and try to explain his power set and abilities!
SpaceGodzilla is personally my favorite Godzilla villain of all time. And he is my third favorite Godzilla monster overall. I love his overall design and his abilities. I do want to see him make a huge come back to the Godzilla series.
It would be cool to see an updated look!

A lot of people like saying king ghidorah is The joker to godzillas batman, well I kinda see spacegodzilla as The doc ock to godzillas spiderman. Absurdly powerful but also uncannily intelligent, even forming factions and armies of monsters in the comics and games against the forces of earth, but still not quite feeling like he’s Godzilla’s arch nemesis. I really enjoy his uncertain origins and his power set is just rad!
He is actually considered as the arch nemesis of Godzilla in comics but in movies Ghidorah is the arch nemesis of Godzilla.
He got like 22 comics and being the greatest villain of Godzilla all of them.

I remember as a kid, watching Godzilla movies by way of VHS, I was hyped to see Space Godzilla.
My impression was that he was one monster *not* to be underestimated. And I was right.
He made for the ideal Kaiju villain. And perhaps, yes he does need a comeback.

Spacegodzilla is one of my all time favorite Godzilla villians! He is so cool to me and works great as a main Nemesis for Godzilla. He would be my third favorite next to Ghidorah and Gigan.

Spacegodzilla and Darkseid share the parallels of their intelligence, power, and cruel, tyrannical personalities that effectively make each of them the proper evil equivalents to their respective arch enemies.
I just remember as a kid seeing this and being mesmerized because it was such a new and cool unique idea. Not to mention he was an actual threat to Godzilla.

Space Godzilla was a very interesting Kaiju and is up there with one of my favorites such as Destoroyah as well as Monster X. I’d love to see him come back in one of the American Godzilla films and we’ll see how Space Goji might fair against Legendary Gojira. I actually am fine with this creeper appearing in one film and returning in the comics and games later on. Godzilla is the best in the world, may the Kaiju genre continue on for centuries to come!
t's too bad we never saw Mechagodzilla against Space Godzilla. I understand the reasoning they came up with that kept him from ever being rebuilt basically. (That the combined power of Godzilla and Mechagodzilla probably would have been seen by audiences as too much of a mismatch for Space Godzilla.) But I would have liked to have seen it anyways. They could have reworked the script/plot around and made it work I'm sure. Kinda like this...
At the beginning of the movie you could start by showing that Japan has Mechagodzilla rebuilt for fighting against Godzilla again. But not long after Japan has Mechagodzilla (and Garuda) working again, they discover Space Godzilla. Though hesitant to use Mechagodzilla for any fight other than one against Godzilla, Japan decides to send Mechagodzilla and Garuda to intercept Space Godzilla as he lands on Birth Island. (In this version of the movie Godzilla wouldn't show up at Birth Island right away.) Space Godzilla torments and imprisons Little Godzilla just before Mechagodzilla and Garuda arrive, with Garuda arriving first. Garuda harasses Space Godzilla for a moment or two until Mechagodzilla lands and the real battle begins. They trade beam attacks like crazy but soon it is discovered that the Diamond Armor and Plasma Grenade are not working as effectively against Space Godzilla's Corona Beam; since it isn't a straight up heat beam like Godzilla's, so they decide to combine with Garuda to form Super Mechagodzilla, to help buy more time for the Plasma Grenade to charge. Unfortunately Space Godzilla decides he's had enough and uses his Telekinesis on Super Mechagodzilla, throwing him into the side of a cliff. Which massively damages Garuda, which is attached Mechagodzilla's back. The pilots are forced to detach from Garuda. Space Godzilla manages to fully destroy Garuda as Mechagodzilla barely gets out of the way of the explosion. Finally, Mechagodzilla seems to have charged it's Plasma Grenade and they fire it at Space Godzilla. Only to watch in disbelief as Space Godzilla erects his Shield and the Plasma Grenade is unable to do damage. Space Godzilla then uses Telekinesis to again toss Mechagodzilla into the side of the same cliff and blasts Mechagodzilla with his Corona Beam to seemingly finish it off. (This is all condensed down as the two opponents blast each other over and over again inbetween the main events I'm writing in. With Mechagodzilla taking more and more damage throughout the fight.) Space Godzilla then roars in triumph and flies away. Not knowing that Mechagodzilla was still "mostly" intact. Not long after this; while the humans are trying to get Mechagodzilla patched up enough to fly back home, Godzilla shows up on the island to figure out what he had sensed going on. He frees Little Godzilla and heads off in slow pursuit of Space Godzilla. Shortly afterwards Mechagodzilla is returned to base for repairs....
I think this would have been an excellent replacement fight for the beginning of the movie and would have accomplished two main things...
One: Establish the power of Space Godzilla. Making him seem pretty dang invincible as he is able dispatch Super Mechagodzilla.
Two: Get rid of the threat of Super Mechagodzilla early and by cause and effect the tag team power that Super Mechagodzilla would have had alongside Godzilla. Reducing Mechagodzilla to his regular form for the rest of the movie would have made it seem absolutely necessary for the humans to team up with Godzilla to even stand a chance.
Then a chunk of the movie would have showed Space Godzilla flying over and landing in a few different areas to cause chaos and damage. Even more places than the original movie. All of this happening while the humans repair Mechagodzilla and Godzilla is making his way to Japan. Eventually Space Godzilla would land and start building his fortress the same way as he did in the original movie and eventually Godzilla would begin to fight Space Godzilla. With slight reluctance the humans would send in Mechagodzilla to help Godzilla; instead of destroy him, and they would eventually defeat the evil space clone. Though Mechagodzilla would probably be destroyed for good this time around, similar to the way M.O.G.E.R.A. was destroyed.
I personally think this would have been awesome. Even if their might have been too many "Godzilla" named creatures running around in this movie. What do you think?

love space godzilla being the most sadistic of the heisei villains imprisoning junior just to mess with godzilla showing the big g at his most heroic doing that to save his son,wacky origin being crystals from space caught in a black hole(completely go with it being biollantes cells corrupted by the black hole with how they go up to space after he's destroyed as it feels like a stretch for it being mothra/with how the shobujin appear yet could've easily explained it being from her if it was.) & having the longest fight in heisei with his crystals awesome design making a tower fortress of the city.(for some reason got frozen vibes if space godzilla nefariously trapped elsa siphoning her power to become all powerful.:3)
love to see space big g return as he would've been a great antagonist for the anime trilogy(he should've been i mechagodzilla's spot as him being killed by godzilla only for his crystals to survive threatening to absorb the earth would've been better than wasting mechagodzilla's awesome design to just the city.).
I can see spacegodzilla being part biollante, his mouth is large and the hinge for his mouth is far back.
Hope they bring him back in another movie so we can get to know him better!

I'm so up in the air about SpaceGodzilla. Part of me thinks, an evil version of the hero... oldest cliché in the book. At the same time, SpaceGodzilla is different enough, and is VERY cool. I just don't know how I feel about this one.

Space Godzilla is like Ra's al Ghul of the Godzilla Universe, the way I describe him, he knows Little Godzilla is Godzilla's son and his views Godzilla as his close relative since he's an evil clone of the Big-G.

I wouldn't call Spacegodzilla's first fight with him a victory. Godzilla only fired a couple atomic beams before chasing junior around most of the fight. After that he was knocked and space G imprisoned junior and flew off before Godzilla's could engage him in an actual fight.

I know this video is old and now that I saw his concept art of SpaceG, I think it’s possible for his return. Have you seen the Godzilla with wings? What if they used that concept art instead of using space Godzilla’s og look? That’s crazy.

Space-Godzilla has always been one of my favorites, as well as Nuclear-Meltdown-Godzilla, the one in Godzilla Vs. Destoroyah. I also really love King Ghidorah, a.k.a. Monster Zero.

I think Godzilla vs Spacegodzilla is the best out of the heisei series. It also seems the most like the showa movies, with Godzilla being turned into a hero instead of a villian. I wish they had kept with that direction instead of ending the series one movie later the way they did. And we could of had a much longer heisei series similar to the showa series but heiseified with more alien monsters like gigan and alien king Ghidorah. So many more monsters could have appeared and had multiple appearances

Do you what will be cool if space Godzilla came down to earth with all the other space kaijus like gigan and Godzilla and the earth kaiju battled.
Imagine if Gigan was boeing down SpaceGodzilla somewhere in space in the next movie, I really expected something like this in the end credits of GvK but ye sad it didn't happen.
If they bring in SpaceGodzilla, it might have to take more than just Godzilla & Kong to take him down. Him, or Destroyah are my top picks.
