No not a bad thing. I like flex heads to be very firm. I have other gearwrench tools and ratchets. I just ordered this set comfort grip. These are some badass ratchets!

Agreed with you in the handle length, wish they made the 120xp slim head locking flex in a 8" standard length handle & stubby. If you need a 13" handle move up to a breaker bar or 1/2" drive ratchet. I got the 120xp stubby teardrop head ratchet. The flex spring is right but don't lock. Due to packaging, hanging on a card not in a box with foam my New ratchet looked like it had a year of use on the finish.

Tool manufacturers don't necessarily "upgrade" when they make a change to a tool, they are making it "different" (maybe better, maybe not) so that you purchase the tool again... that's the point..selling you things you already have while making you feel okay about it...🤔

I really like that you tried other springs

Can almost guarantee gearwrench will come out with a shorter handle flex 120XP ratchet. I did have the newwe Milwaukee locking flex ratchets. They were too heavy in the hand and i got sick of the too many switches in the way. Gearwrench did good on this design! 👍

I have the same husky in 1/2 drive I find myself hitting the lock on the flex head to switch from taking off and putting on a bolt in stead of the actual directional lever quite annoying but my own fault

True, sometimes I accidentally unlock the older style too. But it's a lot faster to operate than the newer push button.

How's the anvil play? I saw from Project Farm channel that the 120xp gearsets have a good amount of wiggle and slop but I read elsewhere that this new series is a lot better with play and looseness

Loosen the pin little...that should make moving between the flex positions easier.

That's a good idea that works on most flex head ratchets. I thought that'd help with this one too, but surprisingly it didn't, so I decided to take things apart, haha.

My one complaint is that it won’t go to 90° and stay there.
