My goodness! This story actually made me tear-up. Not the usual relationship story at all and very nicely narrated.
This one makes me sad
I manifest that the ex that cheated on me will get this.
Thats true punishment. OP was way too nice
Cancer is no joke
She loved him with all her heart and just accidentally fell onto another man's pen!s for a few months and accidentally left him for another man. Boy with love like that there is no need for enemies 😂
I would not have made the trip to Japan. I'm not such a forgiving person. She made her decision to cheat and basically shit backwards on our vows and me . I am a firm believer in the adage Screw me once , shame on you. Screw me twice , shame on me. To put it another way , the first time I couldn't help. The second time would have been my own fault.
He's a good man for taking her feelings into consideration when she was sick but he owed her nothing. She didn't deserve his kindness at the end of her life and it's nice that he found it in her heart to be kind to her at the end. I'm not sure that I would have been if I'd been in that circumstance so this story shows how good a person the betrayed husband is.
Romantic.
Beautiful that's called karma lol hahaha 😂😂😂live it
If they are still married in Japan, can he get death benefits and life insurance???
Plus.....
Karma isn't quite done yet. Karma and the OP still have one more thing to deal with.
Some night when the AP is coming out of a bar and has had one too many and he gets to his car, he is suddenly "mugged" and they take his wallet, beat him to within an inch of his life, oddly his genitalia seem to take the most injuries, and his car is lit on fire.
Man, that's some bad luck.
It's too bad she couldn't find that love before having her affair, and causing him so much hurt.
He was the greater person, allowing her one last showing of his love.
"We're still married in Japan"
No, we're not. I didn't sign up for that, and I don't give a fuck if she's on life support in a hospital: she made her choice, now deal with the consequences. F "taking the high road"
OP is a good man with a good heart. I'm not sure I could have done the things that he did.
What a bunch of melodramatic crap. This is a glorified weak man story. He plans to leave the house. He gave her the ring back, he doesn't file on the grounds of adultery, he gives her half the liquid assets, he goes to see her in Japan. Just weakness wrapped up in noble sounding language.
Hard disagree. The woman showed profound regret, remorse. She expressed a desire for forgiveness from him that is as deep as one can glean from a short story. He, himself, showed a rare humanity, forgiving heart, and decency. He's a genuinely good man.
@@servenet299 That wasn't remorse, it was regret! They are not the same thing. If she stayed healthy and her monkey branch held up, there would have been zero changes in her attitude or ability or introspection. The impending dirt nap inducing existential crisis was the only thing that impacted her outlook. Good riddance for bad rubbish!
@@elderberry63 Merriam Webster - Some common synonyms of regret are anguish, grief, sorrow, and woe. Some common synonyms of remorse are compunction, contrition, penitence, and repentance. I mentioned both - _remember_ ? If you had told me you had the divine gift of looking into someone's _soul_ to know EXACTLY what lie there, I wouldn't have contradicted you. As it is I thought you were an especially hard-bitten, stone-hearted individual. But if, in fact, you know, somehow, what _was_ in the heart of that woman, well then....
@@servenet299she cheated and that's all what counts. He is a weak man to fly to Japan to see her. She is a total evil.
@@servenet299 The unredeemed human heart seeks only evil all the time. Regret and or remorse are of no value or consequence outside of that circumstance. Good works, or compassionate behaviors, many times are tools to assuage guilt and feed self aggrandizement to let one feel better about themselves, and their poor behavior. These often are the outworkings of those who betray others and need closure from their victims. True evil is often clothed in the sheepskin of compassion and reconciliation. The problem is, people like you take the bait every time, without learning or understanding.
A very touching story, heart-breaking actually. The author is a genuinely good man.
He turned out to be a genuine human being who put empathy and compassion alongside love and forgiveness as priorities. This kind of soul will have positive effects into eternity. Good man, crappy situation.
If you take personal 'ego" out of it, I am thinking he was on the ideal plain Plato talked about. Unfortunately, evil (the 7 deadly sins) always try to pull you off of the plain.
Life.
This man is a nice person. He forgave his wife for her betrayal. After seeing her dying, he agreed to forgive her, driven by her pity but above all by the love he still felt for her despite everything.
