- Nestled in the White Mountains, Conway Scenic Railroad, renowned for their excellent excursion services and historical preservation, also renowned for their Railfan's Weekend, puts on an amazing show for 2018's Railfan Weekend! For the first day, the Valley Trains and Notch Trains ran as normal, however, the first Valley Train was ran by Boston and Maine F7 4266. Later on, what everyone was waiting for, the photo Freight Extra!
The Freight was the majority of my coverage for Saturday's schedule, along with some early encounters of the Notch Train and Valley Train going towards Bartlett before meeting up with the Freight. After chasing the Freight to Bartlett with some switching there, a three train meet would commence! With the Freight on the siding going towards the Bartlett Roundhouse, the Notch Train would pass it then await the Valley Train as it pulled into the Freight House siding to allow the Notch Train to pass.
Later on, a photoshoot was hosted while the final Dinner Train made it's rounds. Unfortunately, since this was my first time attending a night photoshoot (and just Railfan's Weekend in general), I wasn't aware of the fact that my camera (a Panasonic Camcorder) just wasn't suited for the job and was practically useless for the shoot. Well I guess a new camera is in order for next year!

For my first Railfan's Weekend, it was absolutely incredible and very well the best of Railroad events in the area as well as the best I've attended, definitely looking forward to next years!

Jonathan P very much so, it was pretty difficult to get a spot last minute at the Freight Extra arrival, surprisingly quite a few people didn’t stay for the switching and 3 train meet.
