I never did like those bony pike. My dad would pickle a couple each winter that was ok. I’m gonna try filleting one this fall👍

Solid video. Exactly how I do my pike. Gotta be 100% boneless for the kids. All that leftover meat my chickens love and it saves on my feed bill! Also, you have a pickle pike recipe to share? I've never actually done it but want to try.

Aren't the ends of the Y bones also present in the backstraps? Also where is the V portion of the Y in the side straps?

@@calebwistad hi, I know that video as well. That's why I wonder why there are no tops in the backstrap or parts of the V in the side straps. It looks like you are cutting straight through them. I have done the methode shown in the video with the 5 pieces methode but I always had more bones in the backstrap than just the middle part

Tough fish to eat really. It’s always reported there is no bones , until you eat this fish and obviously have bones as fine as hair wedged in between your teeth. Really it’s a scary fish to eat. Yes it cooks well and holds up well cooking, except it’s just a matter of time finding these bones as the people who clean them all say they are boneless, but yet mysterious bones still find a way into your mouth.

Not mine. My wife won’t eat fish if she finds bones in it. She eats pike all the time.
