being from Louisville, of course I am gonna support Bryson, but he just didn't bring it as much as he could've on this tape. TrapSoul without the Soul is really accurate. I know he's capable of so much more and I'll always be grateful someone put 502 on the map, but I want more. I want songs like Don't and Sorry Not Sorry, where he paved his own little lane on the rap street. idk prolly just rambling but that's just my thought process.

I think the album is good if you entertain a lady and don't want nothing too serious. It is definitely generic, the lyrics are generic. Not much you can do with samples so I understand his sound is difficult to evolve.

Looking back i wonder what people have to say about Bryson now. Don’t get me wrong when the album first dropped i didn’t like it either but i took another listen picked out the songs i love and they’re great songs. It’s funny how everyone saying it sounds like trapsoul but now everyone wants him to make more songs like trapsoul. Also knowing the story of this album comments sections and videos like this is what made True to Self seem like it’s not his best work, he was depressed, insecure, and rushed and it showed clearly. Nonetheless Bryson is NOT a trash artist you just really have to understand him to understand his art❤

100% right looking bad. trapsoul a classic to me by now. had his own lane. not too drake, not too weekend, not too party. hardly a standout song on the album at all.
Joe I love you and respect your opinion but Bryson tells a story so you have to listen to the album from beginning to end. It's a story album like artist use to do. I like him. He's different and he sings. Next album though he has the bring the fire. But he's a mellow dude and he's cool being in the shadows. He just wants to be able to feed his daughter and give her the world. He really don't want the fame and attention.

Yooo i was listening to the album and said "didnt i hear this song already" almost all the beats sound the same except for those rap tracks. Even the rap tracks had him rhyming "nigga" with "nigga" for damn near the whole song!

It would kinda make some sense though as to why he didn't want some songs that make him too much popular: he doesn't want the fame. Bryson has talent, but he is limiting because the album isn't meant for us. Its for that someone, that he usually flashbacks on. So, he probably doesn't want to make something too damn huge, just something that would pass on to his fans. P.S. If you hate him, why listen to him? He made it for fans. FOR FANS. Am I the only person who's not impressed with Bryson Tiller & his music? Maybe it's just me because I like good quality music but I don't get the hype nor do I get his whole sound. That Trapsoul album to me was trash except for Exchange which was a cool & catchy song but the rest of that album was wack; it had no standout tracks & every song sounded the same. And in my opinion, dude can't sing or rap. With the exception of Weeknd, PND, Ro James, BJ, & a few others, I'm not really impressed with this wave of R&B artists. No direction or originality whatsoever.
