    I own this saw. This is the Saw you use to limb the tree that you cut down with a BIGGER CHAINSAW.
    It's good for cutting 4" limbs

      I use this for a lot of the smaller stuff, but I have always been surprised and pleased to see just how big of a tree it can handle, especially when you have a good sharp chain on the saw. Thanks for watching! BG

    Do you have any views on the new 212 c-be stihl? Can’t find much info on it yet - as it is newer I believe

      I have no experience with the 212, but it appears to be a tweak of the 211’s design. I read that some of the 211s had issues leaking oil and some were poorly adjusted in terms of carbonation, but I haven’t experienced any trouble with mine. I was cutting a downed hickory with mine a few days ago and did a fair bit of work above shoulder height, and I was reminded just how handy these lighter weight saws are! Thanks for watching.

    Hey Bald guy.
    Your video has a lot of good info for someone looking to buy a saw, however I have to call “bullshit” that Stijl saws do not have a purge(primer) bulb.
    I have a ms211c and it does have a purge bulb. I also have a Stihl BG55 leaf blower with a purge bulb. My favorite saw is an Echo cs3000t. This is a top handle 35cc saw I bought in 1986. It came with a 12” bar and starts with 1 pull!!
    Great for tree trimming.

      In light of your comments, I am happy to clarify: the three Stihl saws I have do not have primer bulbs. I had an Echo back in the early 90's, and I liked it a lot. I traded it in when it started loosing compression. A guy at the local hardware shop rebuilt the jug and took it home for himself!

    I am having an issue with my stihl 16 " ms211 chain saw. The master throttle lever slides pass another lever on the carburettor. I have taken it back 5 times to rectify the issue. I asked the stihl dealers to do a report on it and notify the Stihl head office that they have a faulty engineering issue, I was told, that would require to much paper work. Warranty has just expired, the chain saw is back in the work shop to fix the problem, but now they tell me that there is some other issue with the fuel supply, without even looking at it. I was told to leave it in the workshop for a service, which I have done. I am going back there today to inspect the saw myself because I believe that the master throttle lever has broken off, because on one occasion when I took the saw in to be repaired they told me that they had fixed the problem by bending the lever.

      Wow, that certainly doesn't speak very highly for that particular dealer. I hope that you are able to get this addressed promptly and properly!

    I'm wondering if some day you might give your opinion of the premix gas sold at the hardware stores, Lowe's etc..

    • @baldguybasics7584
      @baldguybasics7584  Před 8 měsíci +1

      The main draw, in my opinion, for the premix fuels is they offer an ethanol free fuel option. If there is another advantage, I am not aware of it. In my area, there are gas stations that still offer non ethanol gas, usually at something like $5 a gallon. I checked the Lowe's website and found a 110 ounce can for $23, meaning they are charging about $12/gallon. I mix my own gas and oil, so the premix is way over priced. Now, I spoke to my local small engine mechanic, and he stopped using non ethanol gas about 7 years ago. I was surprised by this. He said that he runs a fuel stabilizer in the regular ethanol gas and hasn’t had any problems. I took his advice and do the same thing now, and that saves another $1.50 a gallon. I haven’t had any problems with this approach. There may be advantages to the premix fuel that I am not aware of, but my personal opinion is that it is just another way for the corporate stores to make a pretty steep profit. Let me know if there are other advantages I haven’t considered. Thanks for watching!
