Best comment of discussion: Tim Keller on the Lutheren vs. Calvin ideas of calling. For Calvin its find what you're good and use it to fulfill a need. For Luther it's see a need and go fulfill the need. Probably the truth is somewhere in the middle.

We are weak too! Integrity and honesty and humility when you're crap at your job is sooooo important. (first year secondary teacher- very crap at job).

Start with the need and get to the ability or start with ability and get to the need. Those approaches are complimentary.

FAQ: Should I publicly proclaim my Faith if I'm NOT good at what I do?
I'm a rookie graduate clerk, and I'm NOT good at my job yet: I'm not competitive, I make mistakes, I try people's patience. I worry that I cannot glorify God yet, and this has discouraged me from sharing my Faith at work. Am I right?

I don't think there is ever a reason to not share your faith. Besides, people seeing your weakness can show them Christians are just people and be less intimidated. The Bible even says that God chose the base things of this world to shame the wise.

Regarding sharing your faith at work:
"Let your light shine before men"
      - JESUS
& "be ready to give an answer to every man that ASKS YOU a reason for the hope that lies within you"
      - Apostle Pete
"that they, without a word, may be won"
      - also Apostle Pete
Never forget, his yoke is easy and his burden is light.

I don't know this is just my own opinion...
In the end it's not about how smart you are...
I am working at a engineering company... I have some juniors...
I also felt like I don't really belong to the job actually but I think in the end..what people see is how dilligent and responsible you are *its now about how late how long you work..
but your attitude... the way you handle the problem and stress.. its really the things that matter...
and by seeing God as our boss..I think that could help us become better, more resilient, being drop on the ground yet always can look up with hope...
that won't make us the best or high salary or something...but with that great attitude...I think personally God can be glorified :) amen.. hope you me and a lot of people also learn the relationship between faith and work... because I too not a good person...I don't even stay in 1 church nowadays... rarely go to seminars or fellowship... but I hope that I one day could glorified God in my job... become proud of it... and have a good relationship with a good church :) Godbless
