Dan also sings opera. He has a cover of one of the most difficult tenor opera songs. It’s called Nessun Dorma from Giacomo Puccini’s Torandot. He sings it in Italian in the genre of Opera.
Dan Vasc has over 200 covers on his channel from opera, musicals, show tunes, pop, rock, hard rock, and metal.
He speaks/sings in 4 languages, is classically trained, arranges/produces each song, plays many instruments, has a 3 or 4 octave range, and hails from Brazil.

When this video thumbnail popped up on my feed from the YT algorithm, I was not really interested. I had never heard of this guy. And the idea of a metal version of Amazing Grace was not appealing to me, but I thought what the heck and clicked it anyway. What I expected and what I got were two completely different things. I was expecting a Metallica version of this song (and don't get me wrong, I love Metallica, and I love good metal songs it is just that some songs don't need metal treatment so I was skeptical).... however, what this arrangement and performance,
It simply, and completely, blew me away, tears streaming down my face I was utterly speechless. This is the way this song should be sung!!! He did a great job of slow build into the amazing vocals at the end, yes, it had the metal feel but it was not head banging, as you say guttural scream ... it was so well balanced, it brought a sense of majestic reverence that the song deserves. And the harmonica -- what a great transition pivot into the second half, it was 'bag pipe-like', I mean what a brilliant idea, just brilliant. This guy is really something special.

Dan's the real deal, beautiful voice, Im not into heavy metal, but I do listen to his other songs because of his voice. I'm 71, brought up in the church and worked as a church secretary, hands down the vest version yet. Another favorite, "Angels We Have Heard on High". Dan sings it in different languages..

I have played it so much over the 5 days of first hearing it, that its in my head, 24/7 now..❤....I sincerely hope Dan realises just how wonderful his voice and how much it has strengthened over these past 3 years. Daniel Vasconcelos, better known as Dan Vasc, is a Brazilian heavy metal singer and songwriter. He was born on October 13, 1989, in Sao Paulo, Brazil. His passion for music began very early in his childhood, but it was only in 2007 that he started to work seriously on his singing¹. Some of his favorite bands and early influences were Petra, Avantasia, and Dragonforce. Dan Vasc is well-known on CZcams for performing metal covers of songs by non-metal bands and/or artists, such as Sabaton and Beast in Black, as well as songs from popular television shows. His contributions also include motion pictures and video games. He is a member of the heavy metal group Fearless, with which he has so far recorded one studio album, Chronicles of Ancient Wisdom (2019), and one EP, Ancient Wisdom². This is my favorite rendition of “Amazing Grace”. He has such a powerful voice yet he controls it down to a whisper. Absolutely “amazing”! His subscribers went from 699k to 719k since last Friday when I first heard this song…seems many people loved it. I shared it with a lot of my friends.

For those who are musically trained, you will hear opening isn't his normal range but he masters it. Speaks to much, much, incredible practice. Lower key of Bb. The FIRST octave jump is into tenor, his standard range (if you can allow for that as he shows up later...). The harmonica introduces a step and turn to sharps which leads to ANOTHER key change, then he comes in on E major! By the end of song he has transitioned us across 3 full octive plus a1/2 step short of the 4th as he hold PURE scream note of f#. (Start was lower Bb). Follow me in this.. one half step short of 4 oxtive change. Only one other in the world openly performs a 4 octive range (male). This IS SPECIAL.
You hear operatic training in his voice. He is legit the best male vocalist of THIS generation. ♥️ incredible performance. 45 SECONDS EFFORTLESSLY on last vocalists including a raspy scream. Unheard of. Masterful. I'm in love!
He is a phenomenal, powerful performer and his fans (like me) can't get enough. For other genres he has a cover of Music of the Night - Phantom of the Opera which is beautiful to hear. He had also covered Nessun Dorma.

So pleasing to hear a singer who can hold and sustain a note. For quite a while now, there has been a sad inclination to perform vocal gymnastics when singing. To me, that generally shows the singer is covering up their weaknesses.
The first song I heard Dan sing was this one, Amazing Grace,. I love everything he sings. He has an amazing voice. Unbelieveable.

Sweet reaction! Dan has been my favourite singer since CZcams suggested The Sound of Silence on 9/15/20. This one has become my favourite one on his channel, but I truly love all 200+ songs he's done here and however many more that are on other channels. He has original songs with his band Fearless; their Chronicles of Ancient Wisdom is phenomenal, especially Tale With No End. He's done opera, 80s rock, lots of metal bands, Elvis, Queen. He even got to do Beyond Belief by Petra with John Schlitt and John Lawry. He's from Brazil, and his dad gave him that harmonica when he was seven. Go down the rabbit hole known as Dan Vasc music - you won't be sorry at all.

Vocal coaches, musicians, husband/wife duos, opera singers, you name it, I've heard them all. One thing remains: I never get tired of Dan performing this. I found Dan Vasc a few years ago and really like his work. His 'Hallelujah Chorus' is amazing; he sings all the parts. Also, he has a few videos talking about the struggles of getting his work out to an audience. He works with a few other musicians (If your boys like Pokemon, check out his cover of the theme song).
absolutely loved the explanation. and hey I don't know if you would have shown on mine if not for that change. so props :) I have researched metal singers, the best ones really go through a lot of training to pull off all those sounds, without shredding their vocal cords. So a lot of them would be perfect for this power song. and wow, the passion just came through like a tornado. Fantastic, but then again, how can you sing this song and not be affected. thumbs up :)

Hi there. Thank you for the reaction. I am one of those people that enjoyed metal music when I was younger, But there is still so much to learn about it. Dan has the whole package, his voice, skill and abilities, the emotions he puts into his performances, and I like watching how he totally puts himself into the music when he sings.
I have just started following him since April/May; just new to his websites, Twitter and etc. I am one of those people that has Dan all over in my Twitter but I am discovering new people all the time, and expanding my knowledge of metal.
The words to describe him and his abilities haven’t yet been invented. His vocal range and smooth transfers from one range to another are phenomenal. I appreciate that he has goals that he works toward and is dedicated to his craft. To have goals, you then create challenges, and your challenges will create your goals.

I've just watched this video again, for probably the umpteenth time, and watching your facial expressions is part of what makes this so enjoyable. I had a quiet little giggle when you were talking about musical genres, knowing that Dan does indeed sing opera, and has at least one full on opera piece, "Nessun Dorma" on the channel, as well as others that could quite easily slot into that genre. He has one of the most glorious and magnificent vocal instruments I've heard in a very long time, and appears to effortlessly slip between the genres. The dedication and discipline he has is evident in what he produces...he is a joy to the senses,,,all of the senses...😋🥰

Dan is Brazilian and is Classically trained. He’s done arias as well as rock/metal. (Death Metal is where they devil growl all through the song. He has far too good of voice for that.)
