I'm betting that once that 5.0L get's broken in it'll get over 20mpg. I have a 2011 F-150 FX4 Supercab 5.0L that I bought new, I've meticulously maintained it in the nearly 13 years and 104K miles I've driven it and it's done better than 18. I took it to Denver which is about an 8 hour drive for me back in September and even with factory sized but heavier BFG KO2's on it I still averaged between 19.7 and 21.2 on that whole trip, and this is in a first gen 6-Speed steel bodied 5.0L with more aggressive 3.73 gearing.

It would probably help if the parking brake wasn't on.

Playing this at 1.75 speed is a game changer

2x is the way to go. You'll get there one day.

I went with the 5.0 in my 23 F150 STX because I wasn't comfortable with having the added complexity of turbos.
Also, I get about 19-20 mpg average. For me, this is acceptable, especially because I was coming from a lifted Wrangler. 😂

I noticed the brake light on. If you did have it on by accident I bet the 5.0 would give better then the 18.3mpg. Curious if the parking brake was not fully released or the light on for some other reason

Thanks for watching...this truck had a battery that was dead in it. Dealer told me that the brake lights come on for a while once battery charges or replaced some times. It was my thought too at one point.
