NASCAR Pit Stop in Times Square w/ Red Bull Racing

- Red Bull Racing NASCAR driver Brian Vickers and his pit crew perform a full pit stop in the middle of Times Square, New York.
20.6 seconds might not be the fastest pit stop ever, but it will never be beaten in Times Square.

The amount of effort to get the permits needed to allow this...truly breathtaking.
Things like this is why Redbulls cost so much. It is badass though
Yeah, to think that it would be for like, less than 30 seconds.
Yeah if only they spent that money on their actual NASCAR team and not the marketing, maybe they’d still be in the sport lmao
its ok Red bull been profiting off of people diabetes and heart attacks for years, they can afford it..

with the cars being (kinda) cheaper, and with the increase of Road courses...i'd love to see Red Bull Racing come back
Something so odd seeing Red Bull dominate F1 but then having struggled to even win in NASCAR

Supreme Beam I can’t believe they hearted a comment on a 10 year old video for a division of racing that they are not actively involved in. Bravo Red Bull, you have my respect.
0:36 clearly still not enough traction :-)
More like a quick service
@@RennieAsh I don't think that that can be used as proof. That car has immense power and no traction control. Plus I think it's also to heat up the tires and also aslo plus it's maybe for show. They are in the middle of time square after all
@@damnfk063 Also, I doubt they would have used new tires. Probably just training tires or fair condition used ones.

Race cars don’t need headlights because the track is always 👌😂🔥LIT🔥😂👌
Arnieee V then why does Jackson storm have headlights 🤔
McQueen also has headlights
Well so is my brother but he still needs headlights
In cars 2 he got headlights and in cars 3 he still has them
MrSpiffykai Mate thats a fictional character. Real Nascar cars dont have headlights they just have stickers/wraps
Imagine missing the tire catch and ruining someone's day with a busted fender.
This is the most redbull thing I’ve seen since f1 on ice 😅
This is one of the coolest things I've seen in a while. I was just in NY/Times Square less than a week ago and to picture this taking place there is amazing. I bet it was loud as hell since the sound was bouncing off all the buildings!
It was loud. And it will never be done again.
A person that bashes one or another motorsport is not a true car enthusiast.
I wish all race fans shared your sentiment.
+azynkron You're welcome
azynkron That is one of the most ignorant comments I have ever read. In no way am I defending NASCAR in this following statement, because I do not have a taste for the SPORT. Fact: NASCARS take more engineering than rally and F1 cars because of the limited slip differential they are required to use. In addition, they produce a range of 800 - 1200 WHP in which must last upwards to 6 hours at a constant. If you cannot realize how fucking amazing that is, then you are completely clueless and are truly not a car enthusiast.
Not an expert in Nascar but I read quite a few articles on this subject before but seemed to me that none of the engineers or even the team owners would said Nascars is more engineered than a F1 car. In terms of technology in the car as a whole, I don't think anything can be close to F1.
if we talk about endurance race, Le men 24 should be included in the conversation as well. They have to use one car to finish a 24 hours competitive race.
just found one that i read before, an interview from Gene Haas, he owned or still owning both nascar and F1 teams.
“Formula 1 is on a much higher level in terms of technology as NASCAR limits the technology. We have just got fuel injection in Cup, we have steering boxes from cars out of the 1940’s things like that. NASCAR is trying to keep the cars simple but the problem with that is some of that stuff like those steering boxes do not even exist anymore in production cars.” It seems that he is one of a growing number in NASCAR who would like to see the next generation of Sprint Cup car feature more modern technology
a toast for you my man :)
For a traditional pit stop for a stock car that was a bit slow. Hat said they aren’t using the same equipment and they are on a public road.
So all accounted for. Nice job guys!
Finally, a smart person.

They are probably just relaxing a bit and they are probably just doing it for show.
@@redkritter1225 for sure, our senses heighten when it's game time. Same thing with anything we do when it gets competitive.
Wish you guys could come back to NASCAR. We miss you!
What an epic stunt, love it. Something different you dont see everyday, bound to air on world news
Penalty, equipment out of the parking spot. Tail end of the longest line.
Finally. Someone who marks mistakes by the NASCAR rule book and not F1 👍

Pit stop
Nascar has a pit crew of 6 people, using a standard jack, tires has 5 lug nuts. F1 has like what, 12 + pit crew? Comparing f1 and Nascar pitstops is like comparing a hybrid camry to a Camaro
Or Comparing this race car to an actual Camry.
did anyone ask
Soon to have only one lug nut 😝
Or comparing a f1 car to a 10 y.old nascar
If you are counting every person with a job at a pit stop its 21 crew for f1. pretty insane.
For Nascar its 8 if you count everyone with a job at pit stop.
Of course its also depending on what is needed at the moment (for example the cleaning guy at nascar or secondary jack lifters at f1 in case the first over engineered jack lift breaks). so its 4 people for changing tires at Nascar and 14 for changing tires at f1.
They are of course not comparable, but I find the competition and hunt for pit stops under 2 sec. more exiting.
I'm an European and i don't like NASCAR. I prefer F1 and MotoGP. But i'm amazed by the amount of stupid people comparing the pitstops between NASCAR and F1. I mean there were like 5 bolts on each tyre and not so many people.
By your logic F1 has nothing on MotoGP. They have the best pitstops... Coming in and hoping on another bike.
Why does "I'm an European" sound so wrong to me
Never seen bolts on a tyre before maybe you mean wheel.

anyone else think its crazy how good the video quality was 11 years ago
Honestly really good camera quality
Not really. Obviously you are quite young to think that this is good quality for 2009. Really just standard quality.
Most of the close-ups were grainy digital shots. There were already higher quality action cameras during that time.
If the intro long shots were done in actual film, it's gonna age well because up until about 5 or so years ago, digital cameras were still trying to reach film quality standards
can't imagine if driver lose control it's public road
He wasn’t flooring it
don't worry he is not in a mustang
I think all things considered he'd have to REALLY mess up to loose control. He's not an idiot, this is literally his job. That's like worrying about a Semi-Truck driver just swerving off the road unexpectedly while fully conscious and ready for work.
That was friggin SICK !!

You recommended me a great one this time
Now I wonder why all the f1 fanboys are looking at nascar related video and then comment about how bad it is. Now I happen to like both and I know that these people commenting about how nascar is so easy don’t know what goes into each race and how everything must be precise because one slip up, you can be in last place with them running a tenth of a second behind another. So don’t hate on something you don’t even know about or understand.
FORZAKINGADAM24, EXACTLY! I only watch F1, but at least I'm open minded unlike all these other guys, I mean, NASCAR is impressive too, the pitstops may be slower, but the guy managing the drill has to concentrate more as he has to get each wheel nut accurately so he doesn't mess up. And also it's not just turning left of course, going speeds more than 200mph for hours, you have to be extremely careful! I don't even watch NASCAR but I have a lot of respect for the sport.

a pit stop that slow would've got them fired
Love RedBull! Good products, no wake bullshit and pure racing!
I love this sound 😍
World slowest pit stop
Yeah, but these guys didn't go as fast as an actual NASCAR pit crew, a good NASCAR pit stop is around 11-12 seconds, and a NASCAR tire has 5 lugs per wheel, an F1 tire has 1 large nut, and over double the people, working on the car.
FIA Wec is longer
This was a slow stop by nascar standards
Guys it was made in 2009 also NASCAR pitstops aren't always fast also my dad is a NASCAR fan and my pop pop so they've been watching for awhile and my dad has seen this before and he says it's real.
Red Bull F1 team can do it in 1.15 seconds, this is shit compared to that
Content failed to load also *1.92 is their fastest
Lol
Lance they banned refueling while race and still had almost the same time
They still have one person doing only one thing. In NASCAR, crewmembers, specifically the tire changers, have to unscrew 5 lug nuts, have someone take the tire off, have that same guy put on a new tire, screw in 5 lug nuts, run around to the other side of the car and repeat the process. They also only have 1 jackman who has to run around with a 30 pound jack, and stick it under the car in exactly the right spot.
What a good video this is
nice work
