My go too, does it have good support? can I fix my self if I can buy the parts with out mailing it in. Will last alot longer when i take it on the road when their is not outlet or no time to have it plug it in. The last part can I put any game to sleep with out little and no problem so I can pick it up later.
Keep it up bro, nice editing. Love my LE steamdeck oled
Thanks so much Jon, your encouragement means a lot! 🙌
What's the difference between 512gb oled and le oled they said glossy on oled and anti glare on oled 1t and le
@@evilcrashbandicootthetouho2753 that's the only difference. the 1tb models have eched glass.
I have an Asus gaming laptop, so the Steam Deck is perfect for playing most of my games (just played on PS5, so my Steam library was basically started from scratch) and I can just stream the games through my laptop for better power. The Oled screen with HDR is so much nicer and the Deck with touch pads is amazing (especiallys since I can easily change the controls per game and the pads open up more control over the games).
I think one important thing everyone is forgetting to mention is that the steam deck oled isn't as accessible to get as the other handhelds where you can purchase from a lot of stores and online stores.
Definitely, not many CZcamsrs mention this important fact which is why I have it as one of my key factors at 0:25 in this vid! 👍
I started with the Steam deck at launch. Then moved to the Ally, and the Legion Go after that. I just bought an OLED Steam Deck and I'm blown away at how awesome it is. The longer battery life, quiet fan, pick up and play ability, and of course the beautiful screen make it the all around best handheld imo. I got tired of dealing with Windows and how long it took to actually get in the game that I'd rather just fire up my desktop. If Valve releases Steam OS for everyone else, I may change my opinion. But for now it's Steam Deck OLED all the way!
Hello sir,
Steamdeck oled so good?
How about the performance? Is it decent?
Ally x about to come out in my country, but the price about 1,5 more expensive than sd oled
(Steam deck not official, but ally yes)
Can you share your insight for me?
Deck oled hands down. I’ve had the ally and while the performance is nice, the deck and its operating system is way more user friendly. The oled screen and performance truly is worth it over the ally.
What pixel games would you recommend for the Deck Oled? Loving this thing and want something outside of my normal games like Spider-Man, AC, Shadow of War and so on.
nice video mate, well put together and very clear the ups and downs of each device. i tend to lean towards the oled over the ally these days but do have an Ally X on order. Ill stick by what i said before, i would buy a steam deck 2 in a heartbeat but i would need to wait for reviews of an Ally 2 such is the nature of Asus as a company... with the Ally X though we all pretty much know what we are getting which is an Ally with the improvements it really needed so its easy to know even before reviews if its for you or not and i always wanted an Ally with a battery that can handle it and better sticks and d-pad so im looking forward to it. Lets hope this time around its built to the standards we expect.
Appreciate your encouragement as always Jinx! Yes will be fascinating to see if the Ally X will be everything we wanted this OG Ally to be… 👀
Ally x is ally 2
@@evilcrashbandicootthetouho2753 so steam deck oled must be steam deck 2. We all know that’s not correct. It would be like saying the 4080 super is the next generation of GPU’s and it’s actually the 5080. Nope.
This is good because once the ally x releases the ally will decrease in price on second hand markets
Very true!
Hi Pete - Great video, and loved the Pancake interlude 😸 Quick question, and hopefully not a silly one - I have zero experience with PC gaming as always favoured consoles, but I am very interested in getting a Steam Deck OLED, as really like the idea of playing games available via Steam on-the-go/portably. Is this something I can basically just pick up and play, or will I need to do a lot of tinkering around in settings etc (where I don’t think I’d know what I’m doing) to get the best out of it? Thanks in advance 👍
Thanks for the kind words James! Hey no question is a silly question - we’re all learning together! 😊
Yes I’d say the OLED is very pick up and play, especially games bought straight from the Steam Store which is almost like a Switch Pro buying games off Nintendo Store 🤩
Check out my review below and I’ve also done super easy tutorials on EmuDeck for emulation, Chiaki4deck for PS5 remote play right here on the channel too!
Steam Deck OLED: 3 Month HONEST Review
czcams.com/video/PoSAKzuOwh8/video.html
@@PeteTalksTech I’ve taken the plunge, Pete, and ordered the Steam Deck OLED (512 GB) this evening 😁 I did momentarily think ‘should I go for the Asus ROG Ally X’, but couldn’t justify the price and figured a Steam Deck would be better for a complete PC gaming novice like me. Can’t wait for it to arrive 😃
Having a roag ally v1 now. Not upgrading to ally X. But if Rog release another upgrade with OLED then that's a definite buy!
Using a pluged in device in a hot tub seems like a risky decision 😂
Fantastic video thanks, Subbed 👍
Yeah it’s erm not ideal 🙈😬😂 appreciate the sub Lenny, welcome aboard! 🙌
@@PeteTalksTech😂
Il rate them bcz i have them all
Steam deck oled 9/10
Rog ally 7/10
Msi claw 2/10 massive disappointment
Legion go 5/10 heavy
Switch 6/10 no real power
It’s a shame MSI Claw didn’t live up to our expectations… 😪
Massive respect for taking care of the rescue car
Thanks yes Pancake is gorgeous 😍🐈
I gotta 256gb steamdeck 2 years ago and bought a legion go 6 months ago and haven't really used it
Just bought a preowned rog ally for £500 2tb
@malant2719 ooof.. rog ally is a nightmare... don't put an sd card in it unless you don't mind it cooking to death.. LLG Is the best out of the three but takes a lot of setup to get it there
Which one are you comfortable with using now?
I'm still deciding which one is worth buying for a few years (best value)
@@rafailjosef7693 probably the deck tbh
The deck and rog ally
Deck is best for older games and ally for gamepass/new games
Actually sd running new games some videos show sd did better than ally you can check out
@@evilcrashbandicootthetouho2753 low tdp I assume ?ally crash sd in every tests above +15 tdp
@zomg346 no sd can lagging but ally crashed in more times and it's bettery getting shorter than steam because the the HD screen and the gpu used
See the videos of steam deck 720r vs ally 720r it was supposed to be ally winner but after all steam wins In test because the costume gpu similar to snapdragon had more optimized and they said there's unused npu in sd oled
@@evilcrashbandicootthetouho2753 i seen sd only win in low tdp and battery life I had both and for low tdp sd is unbeatable but if you want highest fps ally is the way to go
@@zomg346 and don't forget steam had good updates and warranty, ally x and lenovo they will never care about you after buying their devices same the day with android gaming phones with one or two android OS steam deck is samsung or iPhone now
Ally: a handheld mini pc with a screen and gamepad, Can play steam and other launchers with access to 99% of games that run on windows. you can switch to linux if you dont feel like windows is for you. Very good for tinkerers and tech savy windows users
Steamdeck: a handheld pc console with a screen and gamepad for steam with limitations to anticheat and demanding games, less power and feels like you have to have a general knowledge in coding to use. And not so great if you decide you want to switch to windows
Steam OS is unrivaled
I have both and the ally beats it. Steam fans are just as bad as apple fan boys
Really? Which one is more comfortable to use for gaming?
I'm still deciding which one to buy
@@rafailjosef7693 steam deck oled for me
Don't buy Eva buy the legion go :) that's the king daddy in this game
Yep that is the right answer. The Legion Go is by far the best
It's freaking heavy. I'll return it or sell it, not only, because of this.
King with 45 mins of battery life?
😂😂😂
Steam deck OLED is the overall hero
If u want to play aaa games at high fps Rog ally
If u wanna waste money then legion go
If ur Japanese school girl then switch
Ally could be cool but the battery is just so terrible.
this rog ally z1 or z1 extreme ??
Z1 extreme 👍
This comparison is a little ill timed. The comparison should really be the Steam deck oled vs the rog ally X
Great point - the timing was intentional: I wanted to give my honest, in depth thoughts after using my Ally almost every day since launch over 1 year ago, and my SD OLED almost every day these past 6 months since Christmas to fully flesh out my opinions...
There will be gamers who will wonder whether to pick up a cheap second hand/open box Ally or get the SD OLED so hopefully this will help, and don't worry when I get my Ally X in a few weeks they'll be TONS of comparisons and content so stay tuned! 👀
Quite simple: If wanna play newer games: ROG ALLY
If emulation and Indie: Steam deck!
Steam deck can not handle new AAA games. So battery is not in question here.
The ally in handheld mode is only 15% faster on average, it’s not a huge difference
@@MartinAdrianoFloresyes it is.
@@MartinAdrianoFlores you need to bump the TDP to 17w instead of 15w. Then it is 60% more. You can go to 30w or unlock to 54w in bios even. PLaying CS2 at 144fps locked is quite impressive. with Steam deck you cant even hit 60 fps lol.
@@MartinAdrianoFloreslol
Last of us part 2 isn’t even out on PC lmao
Is the last of us 2 playable on OLED
It is mentioned in the video that you can stream it from PS5, you have Chiaki4deck, remote play, psplay.

I can tell Pete! This was a great one! 🎉
For me it would have to be the Steam Deck OLED. Great job BTW.
@@MichaelEMaulthanks so much Michael!
Anyone who buys anything made by ASUS deserve to have to deal with their RMA process and customer services... I've got a truck full of laughs this year seeing posts about people's 1TB sd cards being roasted to death in their Ally and being charged obscene prices for cosmetic scratches or refusing to fix warranty covered issues 😂😂😂😂
Sorry to disappoint I never had problem with mine. I have ally for 7 months and never had problems or issues same with my brother in law who also bought ally. A lot of people said they have ally even tho they don't because their riding the hate ally is getting.
Copy and paste from other videos. You sound like a clown 😂 be a bit more original
Don’t buy rog ally my sd card stop working I got it fixed once I now waiting for Xbox handheld or the steam deck 2 to come out
Mate it's been a problem with the ROG ally since day one they have said that everybody has said that. Sold mine as I never used a SD card anyway sold my legion go getting the Ally X already pre ordered
Or psvita 2!
Steam deck 2 isn’t coming out till 2 years lol
I never had an issue with my ROG Ally’s SD card slot.
