Best rewiring video I've seen. Really helpful, thank you.
Really helpful, especially the tips about the harp and knotting the wire.
thankyou! the only video that goes into detail about wiring!!
THanks, Sheila!
Thank you for making this video. I just found the coolest Hollywood Regency lamp that needs to be rewired, and you have helped me get an idea of what I need to do. Appreicate you taking the time.
Good luck!
Thank you so, so much! I will be trying this out on a beautiful blue Delft lamp, very similar to yours, I just bought on EBay😊👍
I watched your video and then fixed my lamp! Great!!
Great video! I like the trick of how to put the wire on the screw from the left so it tightens as you screw it.
The neutral wire is always identified by some means. In some cases, there will be small writing on the wiring case. In others, there are small ridges or indentations on the insulation.
yes! Thanks for the clarification!
Thanks! I have many old lamps that need fixed 🎉😊
Thanks for sharing
Thank you so much 😅
Awesome Job!
Blue shade !!!!!
Before starting practice electrical safety (unplug) then put something down to protect your lamp from damage.
Thanks for this. But please consider a remake sans the circus music.
Yes easy, but what about connecting the plug.
Would be so much better without the music. I don’t understand why so many folks on CZcams play music while they’re talking 🤔
This works great if your lamp is not put together by manufacture glue. Making it hard to take apart and replacing without glue. They prefer you buy a new one. The bots at the bottom will not stay tight without glue. The socket just falls over.Directions were good lamp not so much.
Should of polished wood base
Should have, not should of.
I had the same thought of either refinishing/oiling the base or paint it black.
I've been trying to rewire a lamp that uses a three way socket that also connects a small decorative bulb that goes inside it to illuminate the base. How would I connect the decorative bulb to the socket?
I've never worked with a light like that so I couldn't venture a guess. Sorry!
The lamp I'm trying to rewire is crystal and the tightening nut is about 9 inches deep, right up by the light socket. How am I supposed to remove that?
I would probably bring it to a lighting center and have it done professionally if it’s a valuable lamp.
What is the watts for the lamp?
Can't you just buy new guts and slide them out and slide new ones in??
Hi! Typically not. There aren't really 'guts' to a lamp... it's all these disparate pieces that need to be assembled.
Yh m8, just pull the small intestine out first and the large one follows😂😂😂
I have a lamp that has a white plastic round thing that holds the cord in place, I can't get it off and I can not continue to finish the rewire presses. What should I do??? I really want to do this myself.
Have you ever come across this problem? HELP!
Hmmm... If you're going to rewire the lamp, can you just cut the cord and pull it through the white thing? I've never seen something like that. Perhaps bring it to your local hardware store?
My adventure with the tree began with projects from Woodprix.
Turn down that awful music.
The music is too much.
