He upgraded the lift a lot he just didn't use it. Except for the speed boost that won him the game.
@@Doomclown Speed Boost is crazy good. You also can haul a lot of unhooked items, because you ca hook a few and then their formation will naturally carry some of the loose ones with you without speed penalty. Great stuff.

I actually think the issue was that he dug all the way down immediately, instead of just going more horizontal and letting the lift do its thing. It just took too long for all the stuff to go all the way up

Funny thing about me is that when I live with other people I'm usually on top of the dishes and trash, but when I'm by myself there's dishes and trash piled up for no good reason.

lift is good even if you use it for just the speed boost

The reason you hate the lift is because you have a tendency to dig straight down. The deeper down your tunnels go the longer the orbs have to travel to make a full cycle to bring things up. The lift is intended for efficient resource gathering and when you leave about half of each color region unexplored it has pretty reduced efficiency
He also barely used it and wasted resources on useless lift upgrades. The speed upgrades turn the lift into a highway back to the surface, while costing barely any resources.
He knows. Doesn't care.

Dude, you have the condenser which can be upgraded to give free overcharges every round, leading to incredible combos with the overcharge abilities. That's the main reason to get the condenser in the first place.

i love how drillbert is so comically broken that you can skip all drill upgrades if you have him but NL is too much of a pathological psychominer to ever get good use out of him so dome meister will continue to think its trash tier until morale improves
Drillbert is trash tier.
You want to save your 2 gadget slots for teleporter and probe. Condenser, converter, drillbert treats, and bomb are all not worth getting imo. Stun Lazer is a nice to have.
Lift is only useful at the start and before you get teleporter because you can hit bedrock below it and it becomes useless.
@@daleanddale I always dig a wide mine so for early and middle game it's incredible. You're right though in that it falls off compared to teleporter
@@daleanddale I've had a few nice runs with Drillbert tbh and if you manage him to constantly be mining a new layer he's goated af especially if you get a lift so you don't have to haul resources.

@@daleanddale drillbert is the best gadget in the game without contest since only one of the rest does anything significiant, probe genuinely does nothing, condenser is good free overcharge each cycle, bomb mines 3 tiles per drop if you waste your time with it, stops doing anything at bottom of map. teleporter is just a slow lift. stunner is marginal.
lift is only useful at the end when you can afford to buffer 6 resources for the lifting constantly, and the bottom is getting fairly far away.

The reason the lift is good is one, it is a free slot that only the lift can take in the dome, two, when you get deep you can avoid taking carrying capacity and just yeet mattirials into the gravity well,
The one time I've seen him use it, he just dug so deep immediately that he needed to upgrade it for it to be useful.
3. Speed lift upgrades are pogging. You zoom back to the surface
4. If you carry resources upwards through the shaft, they will tow all floating resources without slowing you down.
I think your problem with the lift is that you dig down to the center of the earth so the orbs have to travel all the way up and down to bring up your orbs.
Yeah he dug super deep then went wide still, just to make the lift take longer for no reason. Needs to go wide and shallow with the lift and get good early economy.

Lift is really good and better efficiency than a teleported + cheaper if you only go for the +1 orb and one speed upgrade that equals the amount of 6 orbs as the speed doubles it , making it give you like 18 resources every 30 seconds which is way better than teleporter and to match it teleporter you have to spend way more resources to make you go in and out and fast teleport of resources + lift upgrade for you own speed of (2 water 2 gold) makes you go up faster than ever also helps you bring the gadgedts up while teleporter cant also teleporter is annoying to carry around to resources
He's just too ADD to use the lift correctly. If he sees resources he needs them NOW! Teleporter is probably still better but the lift is still such good value when you consider that you never have to buy another carry capacity upgrade and you get a super discounted speed buff through the main channel in your base.
IMO max tele > max lift, BUT lift is better for a lot longer than tele, and in YAFT difficulty you won't be max upgrading either so lift is just better

It's funny being a youtube only viewer and hearing him telling chat about things which are in the past for him, but will be out in the future for them, but having already seen some of those things.
About Kung Fu Fighting, language is socially constructed and evolves. It's not that they didn't know it was offensive in the 70's, it literally wasn't offensive then. It has been made to be offensive now. You can retroactively judge harmful behaviors like violence (a punch in the nose feels the same everywhere), but you can't retroactively judge harmful language because it is subjective and will mean completely different things in different times and places.

@@Nowolf I can absolutely tell you it's not offensive according to people in the Chinese Kung Fu community. I've been doing martial arts for over 17 years, I've travelled to Hong Kong and trained with traditional Kung Fu masters.
And all of the people I've spoken to love that song - they find it funny and endearing.

I watched someone that was efficient. Drillbert is actually REALLY good upgraded when you don't psycho mine. Also got to see upgraded sword and it's awesome!

Watching the egg speak ILL about the lift hurt my brain, tossing loose stuff into it while you carry the rest up is the best efficiency you can get, and then when you go back you can drag the rest up halfway

I appreciate the take on messy vs untidy. A pile of clean clothes on a couch is not messy or unclean, it's just not up to communal living standards. I live temporarily estranged due to work, and sure, the clothes just get dumped on the couch. I pick what I want to wear and the dirty ones go in a laundry bag; Repeat cycle. Clothes in a drawer are still clothes laying somewhere, you just can't see it.
Neglecting the stab speed for so long was driving me nuts.

You can now unlock the HUGE map by winning on a large map
The lift is actually better than he gives it credit for. If you buff your carry capacity you can bring a lot back extremely quickly since the lift makes you a hella lot faster

I also think that auto heal is bugged, once I saw it was working, it auto healed after the battle, tho I'm almost sure that i lost less than 40% and it didn't work when I have lost more then 50.

There are a lot of advantages being bald. I'm not but was pretty bald in the army. Shower after cutting all the hair feels amazing.
Everything is viable, and in fact, very strong when you change your play to utilize it properly. For example, Drillbert is ass if you're playing normally and just drop him off somewhere. The lift is ass if you aren't strip mining and/or aren't chucking resources into it as you uncover them.
NL talking shit about the lift even though it's one of the best gadgets.

@@joecrool7510 I mean no offense, but is this sarcasm? I'm always paranoid of some sort of PC/steam gatekeeping haha. I don't play mobile games bc I don't have a ton of circumstances where I have free time away from home, but I could see it crushing the mobile gaming scene.
