Dear friends, today's project is a rather precise mechanical protractor. In the video I will show you all the steps that allowed me to achieve the results shown. I had originally thought about using the low coefficient of friction between steel and aluminum as a bearing, however I could not achieve the accuracy I was looking for, so I used one of the ball bearings I have advanced from the Oneida bow design. The polycarbonate box comes from a rosary, it was kindly given to me. For the rest I only used bolts, nuts and washers. For the protractor I used a photographic paper and the cap of an exhausted can. Several tests have allowed me to perfectly center the same on axis. The protractor has a hole so that it can be adjusted. The holes that hold the two sprockets are on the same axis so as to have a good measurement accuracy. To balance the needle formed by a nail I used two weights, a technique usually used to record shooting bows. Initially I had also provided two nuts on each balance to adjust the needle, but after several attempts I got such a precision on the holes of the same so as not to have the need to use adjustment nuts. Ciao Damiano e grazie per avere visto con attenzione. Si la molla funziona piuttosto bene anche su legno, usata qualche anno fa per costruire dei cerchi di legno poi tagliati a metà e usati come blocchi con un bullone passante. È un piacere
