Having some experience with articulated tractors, I can say with certainty thzt the reason the K700 can do that is because of the fact that it has an oscillating joint between the front8nt and rear halves. The 538 doesn't have this benefit due to having no suspension and being rigid framed.
I think the 538 is under powered checking the game files it has less engine power than the k700 and a lot of times it stops and doesn't even turn it's wheels especially if you are pulling the medium log trailer you are better off playing some of the c class trucks like the 375 and the 4320 with these you have a crane and you can haul medium logs a lot better and for 3 stars only so now there is no reason to play the 538 as it is worse than some of the 3 star vehicles hopefully they will increase the engine power to make it useful anyway thank you for another great video

And I tried K700 and C6317(carriage with crane,loaded), they all can make it easily with loaded medium trailer! So it is not only less power than K700, but also less than C-class trucks!
I wouldn't go with the B-131. The B-255 is best. It has a crane setup that allows you to carry a small log load on the truck, then you hook on a trailer and haul even more logs again.
That is not the point. If your is tilted sideways at a 45 degree angle and water touches the corner of your windshield you will take damage. On seashore the ocean gently slopes down showing it has nothing to do with water intake. One more example, if you flip a truck on its side in a river and manage to keep the engine running you will see it’s takes damage even though half of the grill above water.
I think the D-538 is better, because you can do some more with it, and it has not an dumb electric sounding engine haha. Also even though the k-700 has other different features I still like the D-538 more!
I realize the video shows the K-700 is superior over the D-538 in almost every category addressed in the video (I'd argue the mud test since they both got through the mud only a few seconds apart from each other) but The D-538 does what I need it to do. Get through bad sections of terrain with what I will argue the best crane on a non modded vehicle in Mudrunner to the log kiosks and load trucks. Pair it with the new fuel tank (btw can anyone confirm whether some of the vehicles lost the semi fuel trailer or not, unlocked the D-537 I think it was, it was the other D not available in the truck picker menu and I swear it used to have the semi fuel trailer) and it's pretty much self sufficient since there's almost no way you can damage it unless you purposely drown or roll it.
Just tried the DLC. Yeah, the K is became fucking awesome, but the new D is pretty weak. Even in low gear, sometimes it cannot move on a slighty steep hill, even tough it's have such a big engine.

I prefer the K-700. Shift it into 1st and the 700 has more power up over hills. The D-538 has insane traction but lacks power, it doesn't have the torque needed to be able to spin those massive tires and it can kinda stall so to say if it happens to get stuck.
I had a thought. While the k-700 is great, don't you kinda wish you could do a little more with it. For example lets say you remove the loader attachment, wouldn't it be cool if we had a scoop or plow option? You could use the scoop or plow to example scrap the mud off your garage parking lots, or maybe smooth out the trails and make life easier for all the 2WD vehicles, stuff like that. Of course the trails you fix would degrade over time just like normal trails, so you'd have to use the K-700 to keep fixing the trails up. I mean hell, the K-700 is a front end loader, not a forklift. Why can't we use it to do other loader things besides just logs?
I like the D538 but i think its underpowered ... i tried to tow that yellow truck with the large logs and i wasnt moving at all on the sand while the K700 towed that thing easily out of the area ... but its a free dlc so i cant complain
That was quick, nice work. Seems like the 538 might be better suited for the bog map cause she really struggles up Hills. Half the time it just stops dead no wheel spin no forward motion, just sits there burning diesel.
Also don't forget, most of the times it's not the vehicle that matters but it's also dependent on the driver. The better the driver the better the vehicle acts...
I was avoiding playing the ridge because I didn’t want to drive the 538. But, that map really allows you to use these two side by side. I ended up becoming a little more attached to the 538, mostly because it was very quiet. Remember that these vehicles are in different classes than each other, so I’d be a little upset if the 700 DIDN’T outperform it.

The K700 is my go to for everything. With some stratigicaly placed fuel trailers it makes beating deluge stupid easy. I have never managed to get the K700 stuck, anywhere, that ive had to winch, it pulls anything, drags anything, and is super awesome for sabatoge in multiplayer mode :) That other thing...well....it sucks. I drove it a few times and got so sick of it after about 3 minutes i was back in a K700.
The D-538 is kinda good but it has another weakness that you didnt mention. Its SOOOOOOOO heavy, and it HATES hills because of that. But another strength is that it has a crane and not a loader. So you can play hardcore mode with this one only.

Another serious drawback of the D-538 is the huge turning radius. But he is very stable and confidently keeps the road. In my opinion, this is the best truck for achieving the achievement "My Only Love."
An interesting move! I used a similar tactic to get 4 achievements at a time: no map, no watchpoints, an old horse (ZiL-130), a forester (collect overturned logs). I used the map of The Valley and E-7429 for towing ZiL-130 :)
I used the K-700 on "crossing" i put a small log trailer behind it which made it hard to steer and almost impossible to reverse beacuse of the "mid-steering" but I still like it, an awesome viehcle
Great job! Maybe D-538 is worse and less useful than K-700, but I don't regret reinstalling game to check this DLC. I'd like to see something based on ZIL 135 and 167 in next DLC :P
I was expecting more out of the D-538. Its got to have the worst turning of any of the vehicles anx its underpowered in some circumstances. Even the new little tractor, while cool, just doesn't feel fun when it gets stuck in the garage. But, they are free. And the map is kinda neat. I did discover that in some situations, the D-538 is pretty capable. Id be happier if it turned a bit faster.
I find bot hard to control, but while with the K you can steer gently to manouver at high speed, and is very agile at slow speed... The D has a huge turning radius, and the rigid chassis makes it useless in hills and ditches

I never really liked the K in this game. In Spintires it was really unstoppable, but it couldonly carry logs, wich was a good balance. But now it feels weak. Sometimes there's no point to put in high gear, even in low gear you have to put it in low range. I don't really use it nowadays
tumate45 might be worth giving the 700 another go. They changed some tire settings with the latest update, and that seems to have improved things quite a bit.

I think the k700 is still beter for a few reasons. It has so much more water clearence making it a beast for river rescues. After the update they gave it more power and new gears making it op at pulling. The new d class has no ground clearence no water clearence and has no power it cant climb most dirt hill without some help it wont even apin the tires thats why i the k700 is better
the D-538 is horrendously underpowered, making it a poor choice for pulling heavy loads. it works well for fetching logs and bringing them to the road though if you don't have the K-700. and the crane attachment allows for easy lumber loading.
Since the Ridge update, I have not been able to get the Ural 4320 on ANY map. I can get 3 or 4 375s but no 4320. Did they remove the 4320 from the game????? If so, is there a way to remove the ridge dlc on PS4? Totally not worth the loss of the 4320 in my opinion. Thanks.
Also they removed my favorite part of the down hill map. The river crossing in the middle were you unlock trucks no longer has the big hump. It was great for testing trucks and watching the suspension articulate...... All gone, along with the 4320. This dlc is a waste of space, on my opinion. Took less then an hour to beat with 1 star on hardcore (C256 starter) and there are virtually no hidden trails to explore like other maps. I've been to the top of the "ridge" and I've forded out to the small island in the north.... Now it's a boring. The only thing I like about this dlc is what they did with the crossing map. They can do so much yet they can't fix the camera going under a bridge problem.

It does actually have independent suspension, but only on the front wheels, and it has very little suspension travel.

Smaller truck, B-131 would be the best
I wouldn't go with the B-131. The B-255 is best. It has a crane setup that allows you to carry a small log load on the truck, then you hook on a trailer and haul even more logs again.

Please include how much fuel was burned. A helpful tip: vehicles start to take water damage when water touches its windshield.

Also, the 538 is technically not a tractor. Its a specialized logging truck that has a similar appearence to a tractor, but it is definitely a truck.

JK BMX B-130 hands down
Yeah I used the b130 for the extra star on the ridge map and it killed the b6 in the slop and up hills. Plus all the add ons.

JK BMX Its not terrible. Just slow as hell without the dif. But yeah the B-130 smokes it every which way imaginable. Well. Except the B-130 can't carry a spare fuel tank basically.
