    I just changed the same high presser line on a 2008 Nissan Quest van and it was the most difficult job I have ever done on a vehicle just because access is so limited. Took me 8+ hours and ALOT of swearing.
    14mm crows foot for the hard line on the rack and 24mm socket on the banjo bolt on the pump and 10mm flex head gear wrench for the mounting bolts at the top and bottom.

    Just got this issue fixed, had to replace both the hose and sensor as the hose was ripped and the sensor cracked, took 3 hours and 340 in parts and labor with a local mechanic

    Just had this replaced by a Nissan Dealer on my 2012. My pressure hose and pressure switch was leaking. From what I'm told this isn't an easy replacement. Costly too

    • @hurstysgarage
      @hurstysgarage  Před 2 lety

      Hey R Wms...yeah, it's a pain because of where it is located! And unfortunately, this is a common problem with this generation Nissan. Glad you got it fixed, but I feel your pain with the cost! Thanks for sharing:-)

      Had a leak 2 yrs ago in the exact same spot as the one in the video, it was a pita to replace and very tight in that area. This by far was the hardest pressure hose I've replaced thus far and I've done quite a few in other makes and models. What makes this pressure hose replacement a bear is the very, very tight spot it's located in. Lining up and trying to tightening up the banjo nut was the biggest pita...then the flarenut at the pinion box wasn't easy either. Lots of cursing I tell ya, lol

    Just did this job, had to pull intake manifold, air box and to make it easier Heater hoses. This seemed to be the easiest way for me. Hope this can help someone. 14mm banjo bolt at the rack.

    You can fix the water fall on my wifes Altima. It pours a trail of power steering fluid. I’m just tired of constantly fixing it. Time she dumped it. The body is in good shape though 😅

    Would you just be able to change high pressure sensor instead of the whole line

    • @hurstysgarage
      @hurstysgarage  Před 2 lety +1

      Absolutely Josue... But mine was actually a crack in the line above which is more common than the dang sensor which would be a lot easier that's for sure! Hopefully yours is the sensor, and sure, that would only take unscrewing it from the line there, which would save you a whole bunch of time! Let me know how yours goes if that is the case:-)

    Hello the dealership is chargig $900 for this replacement the power steering high pressure hose and switch. This sounds exorbantantly high. What do you say i watch your videos?

    • @hurstysgarage
      @hurstysgarage  Před 2 lety

      Hey Ms MC...first off, thanks for watching...secondly, it might be a little high, but I know from experience that most of it will be Labor because of where that dang thing is located. I would suggest trying at least one more place to put your mind at ease. Last time I bought those parts, they were almost $300 for a good set too. Let me know how it turns out though...I will cross my fingers for you:-)

      @@terrancepinkney777 bad news. He didn’t do it. Look at the vid. Go to Home Depot or Lowe’s and get some o rings and these one that look like them but cone shape. Take off sensor change oring and cone goes on bottom inside line. If you can picture that. But it’s less then ten bucks

    Don’t put a lot of miles on these or you’ll be replacing all the suspension, axles, alternator, valve cover, rad, shocks, and more I can’t recall just now. 😮

  • @WoundedSpiritHealing
    @WoundedSpiritHealing Před 2 lety +1

    Same problem.. I changed my sensor out today and I think it's still leaking :( ... Must be the hose ,.... But yea my sensor was old and leaking at 125k miles

    • @hurstysgarage
      @hurstysgarage  Před 2 lety +1

      I was going to be glad to hear that it was only the sensor Bruce...but of course, such as life, it can't be that easy;-) Usually I have found out, the leak in these vehicles is the hose (of course), and yes it is not a fun job, but can be tackled with a little no how...just takes some time because of where the stupid thing is located;-) Let me know how it works out for ya!
