- In this episode of Coin Quest Nickels, we are coin roll hunting a box of nickels in search of interesting and valuable coins that we can use to fill in our Jefferson nickel, buffalo nickel, and Canadian nickel collection books. This box is incredible- I had to turn the camera back on to film every other roll because there were so many amazing finds! I decided to cut this one off at 25 rolls because of the volume and quality of the finds, so enjoy the first half of this box. The second half will be making it's debut in the next video!

I found a 1948 silver dime by accident while rolling up some dimes lol. I’m not a big collector but I still like to watch videos like these. It’s kind of ironic that I found it while rolling up spare change. I notice the back was worn, not the discolored edge which makes it a pretty lucky find since I wasn’t looking for any silver.
That's awesome! Finding silver dimes like that is a rush for sure. Searching them isn't great for making videos but it's still a lot of fun to do. Good luck and happy hunting!

Just finished my first coin roll hunt. Ended up with 39 customer rolled and 1 Loomis rolled pennies. Your videos are what inspired me to get into this type of hunting. I have been collecting coins since I was a kid but never thought of this as a way to expand this hobby until I came across your channel. I will be getting both of your mats cause I love how you can score each box with the point values. This hunt which was 10 rolls shy of a full box scored around 77. I would say not bad at all and now I am addicted. Thank you.

Great video I'm new to your channel. I like your place mats will have to order one. I've been collecting since the 70's off an on, but making it a true hobby it is so relaxing going to coin shows. Would like to go to more but I'm on a fixed income I'm on Disability but life goes on. Your doing a great job with your videos. My favorite coins are Silver liberty billion and all half dollars. But all coins are great. Sorry so long.

That's cool. I think I found the 55-P before in a box if I remember correctly. I love the odd strike on those, and many of them get a cool toning/coloration. Great find!

I’ve only done 3 boxes of nickels and found 1 war nickel in customer wrapped. The customer wrapped box was actually better than the machine wrapped rolls

I scored this week with a "10 Rappen 1895" in my Swiss coin rolls, but sadly it isn't silver. I wish I had the possibility to find silver in my rolls too!
At least I managed to catch the moment on video.
What's the best way can clean a coin not a serious cleaning but just a lite cleaning to remove any loose dirt dust, finger print film

I was looking through a bucket of $50 worth of coins that my grandparents gave me and I found the following:1966 half dollar, 2000 dollar coin, 1934 quarter, 1970 and 74 quarters, 1948 Mexican 1 cent, 1978 and 97 Canadians, 2006 2 cent Euro, a 1945 weat penny, 1960 1 Franc, two 1964 pennys, and 1960 62 68 pennys.
I forgot to say a japanese 10 yen with an unknown date.

I've got a few Canadian nickels from the 50s in my toolbox.
I have loads of 1942's. Three 43. Six 44's. Five 45's and Six 46's. A couple of 47's thru 49's. About four 40's and five 41's. Three 39's. All of them came out of the same vending machine in the course of years.
In the last few weeks I have managed to get (in change from various stores/gas stations):
1953-S in ms-62/63 (really beautiful coin w/mint luster, may grade higher)
1943-P in ms-64 with a rotated die and an awesome (sectional) delamination w/100% retention and killer mint luster..
1949-D in vf-35 with a D over S (over mint mark)
1973-S in ms-61/62 with 6 full steps (oddly enough, I cant find any info on this one in regards to amount minted, value, etc)....but still a really nice coin.
1912-D "V" nickel (I really can't determine the grade on this one, I need to have a professional look at it.)
The really weird thing?.....I'm not really a nickel collector. I am into Lincoln cents variety and errors..
Anyway...that's a quick list of some of the nickels I have gotten back as change in the last few weeks.

The canadian nickels you found can have interesting errors on them. Check if the 2011 has a doubled stem on the right leaf and for the 2012, the K in KG can have a triple leg. It's called "special K"
I have a small baggy of fifties. I never really checked the mint marks on them. I have been saving them for over twenty two years now and counting.

You really should put the mintage numbers on your place mats. Under 25 million is seriously vague when it comes to the difference in values of those coins.

We just went through a box last night and found a 1906 V nickel, our fourth since we started hunting in December.

Hey Jhonny, I definitely will! I keep all of my 1939s in a separate container so it should be pretty easy to look through them all at once.

Well one reason why you are not finding many war nickles anymore is because I have been saving them for about 35 years of my life. So basically I have about 100 of them on my own.

I have a 1942 but the Mint Mark is on the side of the Monticello does that mean this Nickel is still Silver?
I meant to say the Mint Mark is a S on the side of the building and I think i seen one on your Chart, gonna have to get me a Chart to see if it is . low Mintage.
