the challenger doubled dribbled the first game you can see it in the replay.
No he lost control of the ball. You can tell when goes up to shoot, but then looks down at his hands. You can regain the ball when you lose control. Only a player in control of the ball can perform a dribble. It's legal.

@@liamr6672 The ball slipped when he pivoted and went up for the jump shot. He didn't dribble. It slipped out of his left hand with his right hand on top. and then he just let it fall. By my parsing of NBA rules that doesn't count as a dribble.
This is simple stuff. This happens all the time to me when I play granted normally I don't fully lose control (but in this case the professor touched it), but it prevents me from shooting a lot. He definitely wasn't trying to do it and he lost control. Slipper hands + inertia of the ball when pivoting and going up for a shot. The shot was open if he didn't lose control regardless so there was no reason for him to do it.
@@ItsPooly It's cheating, he had the ball snugly in both hands. Anyone could get their dribble back at any time if they "fumble" the ball, so that's not an actual rule.

@@IIRaffo bro go watch a 1v1 when he is pissed and actually tries on defense. Blocks 6'4'' guys and pokes the ball out of their possession every third trip to the basket. For a guy who specializes in moves on offense, I'd say he is an above average defender. He lacks length, strength and speed on the defensive end like most white players and he avoids using tricks and dirty plays like stockton to get advantage.
