Those pre recorded safe calls to sound like you are engaging a conversation in real time originated at the dawn of the internet and even before that for physical voixemail machines. It didn't start because of some dumb pandemic thing like she'd have you belive. You'd think she'd know too she's like a dinosaur at this point she had to have heard a few voicemails like that. Where it sounds like the person picked up the call. And you talk to the voidemail for 20 seconds before it ends and you realize it was a voicemail.
