That's a really nice motor mount you could seriously make them and sell them for a lot of people would want them , also overall you know your stuff that's very good
I build stuff. I like the kits but nothing replaces steel parts and welding your own stuff. I know you do that kinda stuff. I was really surprised that you didn't answer me.
Except that all bikes arent the same so you would need to know the frame angles or it would have to be made to move in all directions
People always are ragging on the rag joints when some rear hubs cost about as much as the whole kit's. I've put engines on 6 bikes so far and the only issue I have had with the rag joint is when I installed an engine on a racing bike with the tall and razor thin wheels. These bikes are not ideal to install kits on in the first place and I pulled a few spokes. L put a smaller tire much wider than the racing wheel and have had no more issues pulling or breaking spokes. Engines on bikes are anything but maintenance free it is necessary to give the bikes the once over to address issues before they turn to disaster. I have been told if you don't have a tork wrench to use the German method goodentight.
You are super intelligent, thank you so much Ben
Great series
nice work!!
I'm wanting to do a setup like this but I don't want to use a torque converter just a centrifical clutch right off the shaft would I be able to do that without using that metal plate
can i use a back wheel if it has the built in brakes
How did you fixed the strocket
Hello and thank you ! I installed a motor kit on my bike since i live in an area that is hilly . tbh I suffered from 2 major things one was the worst which is how tough was the handle to engage or disengage the motor to the point that I used both hands on one side😂.
the 2nd issue was how high the sound of this damn motor mine was 70 cc. I am not a specialist, i had to ship all the kit at once from china sine I live in the Jordan middle east and there were no local sites to order piece by piece . I asked a handy man to put things together after showing him a video.
I stored it in the garage since my forearm was begging me to stop :) what a waste. idk if there are solutions for my issues since so far its been more than 5 years rusting in the garage! speaking about maintenance lol , back then no one had them in my city so i was clueless . plus since its air cooled I understood my 2 stroke should just be driven for 30 minutes or less? idk
I tried recently to apply for a motor license but got denied since Im not a citizen of the country I live in ( local law). so far 5 rejections and counting
Well, in theory you should be okay, since the engine power is so low, but I don’t know Jordan’s laws. As for the engine cooling, I‘ve ride my bike for up to a couple hours and it wouldn’t overheat, and would cool off pretty quickly, so I don’t think you have to worry about riding it for a while.
I really need some brakes where can I find some I have a 212cc Predator motor on a same style bike as you
Brakes can be found everywhere and there are lots of different brands for good hydrophilic brakes. These are decent, rotors not included ( www.amazon.com/JGbike-Compatible-Hydraulic-Shimano-1450mm/dp/B07JKQLHF1/ref=sr_1_1?dchild=1&keywords=mtb+brakes&qid=1621827586&s=outdoor-recreation&sr=1-1-catcorr ) or if you wanted to look for just front or just rear if you found them sold singly that would work too.
would that engine fit an all terrain phatmoto bike?
The engine probably would, but you would have to make or buy a mount for it that would too
Awesome build brother , my name is also Benjamin lol anyways I have a question where did you find your frame clamps for your motor mount that looks awesome BTW and great job on the bike I have a 1500w ebike and want to get a gas bike for another riding experience so i am embarking on the bike build. Did you upgrade your rims or spokes? Thanks brother good luck out there.
Glad you like the build! I got the clamps from an off road supply store, they are roll bar cage clamps or tie rod clamps! As for the wheels, the front one is just a mavic wheel and the rear one I had custom done to hold 400lbs since I used to have an extra seat on the back
Thanks for the quick reply I will be getting the supplies to make motor mount but trying to decide frame did you use a felt faker frame ? I'm unsure of the reliability of aluminum for this application I just don't want it to Crack I may put it solid seat post in to help or just go woth a sportsman flyer steel worksman frame I'm unsure I really like the look of the gas tank in frame but I can't find steel. What are your thoughts ?
As for the mounts did you use the exact diameter of bike frame or do you have anything between the steel and aluminum ?
Funny I have a motorized bike
You can use cable brakes, just use Ebike pads. And Never use fenders! A quick way to die!! And of course you wont use cable brakes with a Predator!! 🤣 You real concern should be bearings! If you use ball bearings...you will eventually crash! Use sealed cycle bearings!
I asked questions about this and gave likes. You never answered me. I build shit all the time. Basically GO carts but I asked and you never answered. I'll still give likes . You are just like me.
Unfortunately I have never seen a comment from you, not sure why they weren't getting though. Happy to answer any questions, just reply to this thread or message me on instagram
@@BenCaranoI love your content and I'm in to the same things. I built a Man Size Buggy , just had to do it efficiently. It turned out so fast that it kinda floated on top of the Gravel. All I wanted to do is give you a shout out. I love what you do. And I don't know if you have seen it but you can put pieces of bicycle chain on a weedeater and never have to replace it again. Just saying I love the content
@@BenCarano sorry bro it was probably my fault. I just work on crazy stuff. Like you
I noticed a lot of people are missing one of your good tips that is important. The piece of thin rubber between the engine and the mount. I've always done that on my carts and it makes a difference, so people it's an easy thing that stops a lot of vibration.
For sure! Very important to mitigating vibration and wear on the bike
