"Kak na harie" is a traditional Russian song from Podserednieje village, originally found and recorded by members of Warszawa Wschodnia group.
Monika Walenko: "It is a story about the Russian borderland in 17th century, troubled by wars. Russian women were taken slaved by the enemies. There, one of the women has to look after a baby and she realises that it is her grandchild.
But you need a truly skilled academic to get to the bottom of the story. and a talented interpreter to translate it. It has got many layers and, because transmitted orally, some of the segments were changed or lost."
