The famous Dwarka Temple is located in the Devabhoomi Dwarka district in the Indian state of Gujarat.
The site is located on the banks of the Gomti River, on the shores of Saurashtra. Dwarka is one of the seven holy cities of salvation.
Dwarakatheesar Temple
It is revered as the 101st Divya Desam out of the 108 Divya Desams who received the Mangalasasana of Thirumal. Of the 12 Alvars, the Dwarakadish Temple is a special shrine dedicated to Periyarvar, Nammazhvar, Thirumangaiyalvar, Thirumalisaiyalvar and Andal. Dwarkadesh Temple is an important pilgrimage site for Vaishnavism and devotees of Lord Krishna all over the world.The Dwarka Monastery is one of the four pedestals established by Adi Shankara. Ithalat Theertham is the river Gomati.
Located in Dwarka, also known as the Jagat Mandir, the Kannan Temple is like a huge palace. The temple is located on a small hill. There are many small temples around the temple premises. The mythical characters on the walls are very intricately carved with artwork.
In the sanctum sanctorum, Lord Krishna is displayed in royal attire with conch, chakra, story and padma, with a mundas on his head. The idol of Chaturbhujan is 2.25 feet high. Here the Lord is depicted on a twisted pillar facing west. He is blessed with the names of Dwaraka Nathan, Dwarakatheesan and Kalyana Narayanan.
Meera, a devotee of Lord Krishna, walks through the desert from Mewar and is also a special pilgrimage site with Krishna.
At the top of the tower of the temple, a huge 82 meter long flag with the triangular shape of the red silk cloth sun and moon is hoisted three times daily.
Ancient Vedic scriptures state that this holy place was the kingdom of Lord Krishna.
புகழ்மிக்க துவாரகாதீசர் திருக்கோவிலானது, நமது பாரத தேசத்தின் குஜராத் மாநிலத்திலுள்ள தேவபூமி துவாரகை மாவட்டத்தில் அமைந்துள்ளது.
இந்தத்தலமானது சௌராஷ்டிராக் கடற்கரைஓரம், கோமதி நதிக்கரையில் அமைந்துள்ளது. முக்தி தரும் ஏழு புண்ணிய நகரங்களில் துவாரகை நகரமும் ஒன்றாக திகழ்வது சிறப்பம்சமாகும்.
துவாரகாதீசர் திருக்கோவிலானது
திருமாளின் மங்களாசாசனம் செய்யப் பெற்ற 108 திவ்ய தேசங்களில், 101 வது திவ்ய தேசமாக போற்றப்படுகிறது.
12 ஆழ்வார்களில் பெரியாழ்வார், நம்மாழ்வார், திருமங்கையாழ்வார், திருமழிசையாழ்வார், ஆண்டாள் ஆகிய 5 ஆழ்வார்களால்( 13 பாக்களால் )பாடல் பெற்ற சிறப்புக்குறிய திருத் தலமாக துவாரகாதீஷ் ஆலயம் திகழ்கிறது.
துவாரகாதீஷ் திருக்கோயிலானது வைஷ்ணவர்களுக்கும், உலகம் முழுவதும் உள்ள பகவான் ஸ்ரீ கிருஷ்ணரின் பக்தர்களுக்கும் ஒரு முக்கியமான புனிதத் யாத்திரை தலமாக திகழ்கிறது.
ஆதிசங்கரர் நிறுவிய நான்கு பீடங்களில் ஒன்றான துவாரகை மடம் இங்கு அமைந்துள்ளதும் குறிப்பிடத்தக்கது.
இத்தலத் தீர்த்தமாக கோமதி நதி திகழ்கிறது.
ஜகத் மந்திர் என்று அழைக்கப்படும் துவாரகையில் அமைந்துள்ள, கண்ணனது ஆலயமானது மிகப்பெரிய அரண்மனை போன்று அமைந்துள்ளது.
இந்த கோவிலானது ஒரு சிறிய மலையின் மீது உள்ளது. கோவிலின் வளாகத்தைச் சுற்றி பல சிறிய கோவில்கள் உள்ளன. சுவர்களில் புராண கதாபாத்திரங்கள் மிகவும் நுணுக்கமாக கலை வேளைபாடுகளுடன் செதுக்கப்பட்டுள்ளன.
கருவறையில் ஸ்ரீ கிருஷ்ணர் சங்கு, சக்ர, கதாபாணியாக, பத்மத்துடன் ராஜ அலங்காரத்தில், தலையில் முண்டாசுடன் பிரகாசமாக காட்சிவழங்குகிறார். சதுர்புஜனின் விக்ரகம் 2.25 அடி உயரம் கொண்டதாக திகழ்கிறது.
இத்தலத்தின் இறைவன் மேற்கு நோக்கி நின்ற திருக்கோலத்தில் காட்சியளிக்கிறார். துவாரகா நாதன், துவாராகாதீசன், கல்யாண நாராயணன் என்ற பெயர்களுடன் இவர் அருள்புரிகிறார்.
