You are a great cook! Find me chicken fried steak at home too I usually use whole milk or half-and-half for the gravy but I will try the evaporated milk

If you don't like his videos, move along. His kids are in most of his videos. You can here him fine. Keep doing what your doing. I've actually seen comments where people like hearing your kids in the background. I'm making this right now but with cube steaks cause that's all I have right now. The rest I'm following to the tee. Will try good steaks next time.

Nice video, it's also scarily enough one of the few country fried steak recipes where someone ACTUALLY SEASONS THE DAMN STEAK as well as the flour. I've tried a lot of recipes that just say "oh a little salt and pepper will do" and the steak tastes like absolutely nothing along with the coating. Excellent work man.

I never thought to use evaporated milk, that's a great idea! I always start with adding heavy cream and then milk. I love hearing your kids in the background, its always a blessing to have a home full of life! Can't wait to make this for my husband, its his favorite.

I can remember my mother standing Forever at the kitchen counter with a wooden meat mallet like that with points. Pounding flour and salt and pepper into steak to make Swiss steak. One day the head of the mallet flew across the kitchen so she went and picked it up and stuff the paper towel in the opening and then put the handle back in she used it that way for years! :-)

Thanks for posting this video. I had just made country fried steak 3 nights prior to watching this. I use basically the same ingredients and technic as you, (including using the meat pounder) and you are so right it is the best CFS hands down. The breading comes out perfect, and the meat stays so tender.
I am very excited to make this meal again, but next time with your gravy. Gravy has always been hit or miss with me, but think those days will be behind me now. Thanks again.

You can't see it but when you beat meat with a mallet, meat juices shoot everywhere, trust me. My GF got on my case when I did this at her place without covering the meat with cellophane. So to prove her wrong I took a box and leaving the bottom open, I surrounded the chopping block with cardboard and it looked like a war zone when I was done - proving me wrong. So cover it with cellophane. But otherwise I used your recipe and it was perfect. Thanks!
Also, to note: my mom showed me a trick. Since most of the solids float to the bottom after the cook, she would spoon up the oil she wanted to keep. Then she would pour out the rest. Next, since paper towels are lousy at removing the crud, she would toss in a little expired flour and let it absorb it. Then with her spatula she would toss it in the trash. Then add the saved oil and fresh flour.
