You are on the right track! Lightly and very carefully sanding. Doming is about the only way to take care of the dip. I usually use polymer clay or blur tack it, to support the piece and make it level before doming. And oh my if you are getting into jewelry making, jump rings and bent nose pliers are a must! Love what you did with your molds. May I suggest you getting a small set of silicone brushes. They were originally designed for polymer clay, but I use them in my resin molds so I don't accidentally scratch my molds.
Thank you so much for the support but this detail feedback and tips will help me so much and the others. Glad you have confirmed the doming is the right way to go and the blue tac tip. I might do another video of this and give you a shout out for the knowledge. This is why I love creative in this place, always willing to support and share. I will research jump rings and bent nose pliers and small silicone brushes. Are these for jewellery making so I can get the right ones? You are a legend, thanks heaps.
@@SharonLindleyVividDaysArt I just ordered 3 sets in different sizes called "Clay Shaping Modeling Wipe Out Tools Rubber Tip Paint Brushes, Shape Pottery Clay Sculpture Carving Tools for Modeling,Carving". I use them for glass painting, polymer clay and resin. Since they are rubber, they wipe off easily. I think they were originally made for polymer clay, but they can be used for all kinds of mixed media. Sizes vary, so you can buy really large ones and teeny ones for detail work. You are so kind. I love you bunches!
Your so gentle when you sand. I usually start with a nail file and switch to a finer grit to polish. I personally like doing it that way because it saves me time.
Really nice, especially for you first time out. You have the patience for resin that not everyone does, and an eye for beauty. You may want to get a Dremmel if you plan to work more with jewelry. They're great for sanding/polishing and drilling holes. As for fixing the air bubble, I would drill it out a bit larger and then add in a touch more resin to fill it. For the sides that came out a bit rough, I would sand, as you did, and then paint on a thin layer of resin to shine them back up. Those are the only tips I have for the moment. Now, Myriam is certainly the expert when it comes to jewelry. I learned tons from her when I was starting out and continue to do so. You're my go to for learning how to do oceans and much more!

I will look into Dremmel and get me some as believe it or not this was my original reason for getting into Resins Ocean and Jewellery. I love my bling. Great idea!!and I would fully agree with you very little needed but provide a very elegant shop. I need me some syringe to get in the little slits better, and not over commit to how many I work on at a time lol

Check out Steve McDonald he has LOTS of video on it, I don't tend to create jewellery atm.
I seen a lady get the bubbles out using a lighter. She said that you have to keep the lighter moving and not let it stay in 1 spot. I have not tried making things yet. Just watching videos at this point.

Love watching this...Can you use a small torch on these...like the creme brulee torch...just to get rid of the bubbles?...I use resin in the USA Art Resin.....it's a different type but for the same thing...VERY lite torching ...btw...how did you make the jump ring holes in the dried resin pieces?

With these moulds i would use a flame or your mould will damage and stick to the resin. I would heat up your resin in a bowl of warm water ( as in your silicone cup) heat gun would be best. Thanks for watching and the questions, I am going to show you in a up and coming video for the jump rings. I basically twisted them in
I did just that.. ruined 2 of the molds... So I now use a med high heat blow-dryer...
@@breannbubolz6583 I use a bbq lighter (long metal tubed regular lighter) quickly running it across and have no problems so far. Used them several times already waiting for about 10 minutes and popping off the bubbles then about every 10 minutes for 2 or 3 times. These are really fiddly to squeeze the bubbles out of the tips and using a toothpick to pull bubbles out from the bottom etc.. best to fill a little over half way & work the bubbles ..and then continue on filling up. I found if I dome the openings a bit it doesn’t leave the indents that happen from the resin shrinking. Only pouring a few, 5 or 6 at time helps a lot because the Resin starts to setup before giving proper attention to each mold. They do require quite a bit of time each to get them right. Good luck! 🍀

Please wear a mask when using resin and always work in a well ventilated area!!!
Good advise which i always tell others about, if you watch my videos you will see me wearing PPE and recommending it
When I took them out the mold I have a gap where the hole was how do I fill it
I sand the edge and then add some clear to create a dome
How did you get the hoop on the quartz to put the necklace chain through
The was a gap in the mould
