- My modded Yamaha Phazer build is done, so we went and tested it out on the lake. We loaded up snowmobiles and headed to ERX motor park for their swap meet to promote Mud Dog TV while also messing around on the vintage sleds and watching races.

My modded Yamaha Phazer Build!
Mud Dog TV - Zábava
Best way to fire these after having no fuel.
Dump mix right into the cylinders. Pulls faster to fill the bowls.
it can be bad for the engine tho, if you do that there is a chance of missfire, and the engine will shootflames. and when the piston is firing wrong it can destroy the crankshaft
Someone is selling one of those same track mods. I remember them being super light must be a blast
love to see it man
One of the best sleds to modify I 159 swapped mine absolutely love it.
That’s sweet! Do any motor mods or different gears?
@@muddogtv stock gears different clutching 7 tooth drivers to fit the bigger paddle track bored and ported 20 hp race pipe and oil pump delete.
👍
BROTHER!
Sounds like it’s running on one cylinder.
Yea it was😂
I saw it at ERX 🔥🔥🔥
Sweet!
send it!
Running on 1 cylinder brother
Yea I cleaned the carbs now both cylinders are running but now I only have 90 psi of compression
@Mud dog tv try to replace crank seals before tearing in to the engine. They always go bad after years. You'll end up taking out the motor anyway to rebuild or replace so no loss there. Positive vibes brother
Might do somthing like that to my attic cat 440 prowler
You absolutely should!
@@muddogtv thanks
It sounds like its running with only 1 cylinder
Yea I found out it was😂
Needs carb tuning bad also.
Idle is also to low.
After the video I cleaned the carbs which helped and also realized only one cylinder was getting fuel
After cleaning the carbs it’s running on two cylinders but only has 90 psi of compression. So I ordered some new piston rings to see if that would help
@@muddogtv make sure the bottom pilot plugs are both there and not rotten.
They will plug the middle hole, and right side hole. Right by the main jet.
Ya I was gonna say you were running on one also.
I just finished building two mountain lites.
Pipe and cold air intake are great up grades. Bolt on 14hp with jetting and clutching they are little rockets.
Yours being older and lighter also.
Idle specs should be on belt guard.
If your not sure. I can give you numbers off my later ones, but the 480 didn't change much.
ATF in the chaincase helps also free what what little HP these make.
@@muddogtv 90 PSI is good to run the season out.
Get a full gasket kit and do those crank seals come summer.
Good time to check cylinders if you got a bunch of miles on it.
Doesn't sound as good as my 95 440
While I'm sure the sled will work fine overall with the longer track and bigger lugs the engine is going to struggle to make the power needed to properly pull the track, I think at minimum you need a 600 for powder riding, but with an engine swap could absolutely be a beast.
One day when I get the money I for sure want to throw a 600 motor in one of these and see how it does. In the video it was only running on one cylinder too😂
Not even an engine swap just bore tf out of it lol
