It's permissable. It's not just for adults because there's no Hadith to say so. Leave PERSONAL IDEALS and criticism as a sickness in your heart and don't infect others. For instance, I use dolls as therapy as well as weight therapy and physical therapy for others who struggle with dementia, mental health issues, and grief etc. There are MANY reasons people cuddle things or interact with dolls or stuffed animals. Be careful you don't give your good deeds judging what Allah has not allowed to be judged. 🙏🏻May Allah help us all to be kind yet stand in Qur'an and Sunnah and straighten our affairs as an Ummah INSHA'ALLAH AMEEN!!🙏🏻

It's not for us to make a judgement and say it is NOT for adults because there's NO Hadith that says Adults can't have a stuffed animal or play with one. Especially if someone has children. Buy one. They're great therapy and a good hobby. Just make sure at prayer times and at night to cover the faces with a sheet or soft white or pale yellow(colors are so the paint or silicone does not stain no weird reasons). The angels won't come and bless a place with images that look like real things. So anything with eyes. Even our stuffed animals we lay down or cover. P.S. I'm a PROUD MUSLIMAH, Silicone Doll Artist, and have a ministry where I share my dolls to help people with Grief, loss, Memory, issues, and depression. Allah made this beautiful religion so easy. I believe the doll of aisha (R.A) may be different than the doll of today. Prophet wife she may be exempt only Allah knows. The doll of today look like us , whether male or female. Imagine if a draw a male doll or a make the doll. Which one is forbidden?
