I save up one pint yoghurt and cream pots all year. I use these as free root trainers. Perfect for beans and sweetcorn and free! Recycled year after year and when too sad to use they go into the recycling wheelie bin.
Finally a video that actually shows the trays properly in something other than 480p or has grease smeared over the lens. Watched/shipped through about six-seven videos before finding this one. I have trouble seeing how big something is through text even though I use a tape measure. Seeing someone with chunky hands helps visualise the sizing of each cell.

Just had a look at their website but it's hard to match what I'm seeing you handling with their photos. Any chance you could tell us which of the trays each of your beauties are?
Like you I'd prefer the bigger ones and I'm with you on the root trainers. I use them a lot on my channel and they are fantastic but flimsy as all hell... so these could be awesome. :D

I just came across Charles Dowding trays here in the US. Like you said exactly what I need. Sturdy enough to use year after year and you can get larger cells and deeper cells. Just perfect! Buying several different sizes.
These look perfect. It's particularly good to see they remain firm even when full off compost. I agree about the root trainers as I've spent a lot on them over the years. They're terribly flimsy and don't last too long but you seem to have found a great alternative. Let's see how they go. 👍

I do agree about the CD60 ones, I love them, but you do have to be on the ball with getting the seedlings out. Really chuffed with seeing the larger trays in your vid, they are just what I need as im sick of rubbish quality potting on pots.
I use a spear an Jackson bulb planter to make perfect planting holes for the 15 deep trays . For the downing trays to make life even easier make up a plug lifter by Attaching doweling the same size as the drainage holes to a piece of plywood use an empty seed tray to mark out and place.
I’ve been wanting these for a while now , it’s quite a big investment for me , pensioner 😅 however they always seem to be out of stock. Could you say what sizes they are as that’s how they are described on the website and I don’t want to get the wrong ones, the medium and root trainer ones look perfect. Spot on Tone. I've been using the 28L & 40L (my favourite) for the last couple of years, I love it that you can carry a full tray with one hand and they don't bend. I've struggled with the Charlie Dowding trays a bit but I think that was down to the Jacks Magic compost which this year I think is garbage. It's a good as Durstons!!!

I found out the hard way the flimsy deep root trainers are made of thermo plastic, so if they are left out in the sun they can 'melt' and deform

Hi Tony, have you gone back to the CD60s to give them another go? Charles Dowding did a good video recently going over how he uses them, it gave me a few ideas I hadn't thought of.
I bought some of the Charles Dowding ones off their website and they've been great....Will be buying loads more next year 😁
They are never in stock when I check. I've dropped them an email to see what's what
I phoned them and they gave an approximate date when would be in stock- they go fast.
Place a plastic tablecloth on top, staple it on and it should do good. I do this with mine….
Great seed containers I agree..got some awhile ago..still looking for the taller tomato pots you had used in a previous video..have you or anyone else on here got a link for them.Only looking for about 6 of them..🤗
I like these. I still prefer soil blocks, but these work better for things that need to be planted in pure compost.
I reckon I could drive our van over these trays, and still NOT break them, they are that tough!...Steve...😃
These look excellent, pity we don't have them in New Zealand yet, I'll just have to modify some of what I do have and hopefully they'll do until I can get the real thing.
I got some of the. Harlow Dowding cell trays earlier this year and have to agree about the size.
Great quality from Containerwise though and deffo tempted to get some of the bigger ones

Hi tony , im new to gardening this year , started out just something for me and my toddler to do . We have really got into it and although we have a tiny little plot at the bottom of the garden we are really enjoying ourselves but having the same problem with the crappy seed trays especially as Noa likes to stamp on them 🙄. Anyway sorry for waffling on could you please put up the sizes of the trays , thx and really enjoying your channel , helpful , informative and entertaining 👍👍
