If the total of the debit side is more it means Shyam is standing as our debtor and we have to receive the money from him. On the contrary if the total of the credit side is more it means that Shyam is our creditor so we have to pay him back.
Else if balance b/d comes on the debit side he is our debtor but balance b/d comes on the credit side, it means he is our creditor.
