  • 2008 Chevrolet Tahoe with rear A/C.
    The rear A/C was not blowing so we diagnose and repair the issue, which in this case was a bad blower motor.

    Glad I watched this video. 2013 Ltz… rear controls/lights on and working properly. Rear blower not turning on. Unplugged the power to blower motor. Put 12 volts from external battery source to blower motor and it kicked on (vehicle off at this point). Disconnected external battery since blower worked. Reattached vehicle pigtail connection to blower motor and turned vehicle back on and the blower worked with vehicle power and controls again. Not saying it’s a fix for everyone, also can’t say it wouldn’t have done the same thing without external battery hook up because I never just unplugged and plugged the harness back in before testing with battery. Not sure what would’ve caused it to malfunction and then work like it after all that. Voltage issue? Thanks for posting the video. Wouldn’t have even known where to look beyond checking the fuses.

      Could be a bad spot in the blower motor. And then by messing around with it, it started working. If you wouldve beat on it, it probably wouldve started working. Dying blowing motors sometimes stop and go. Im betting it will stop again soon. Id plan on replacing it.

    If NOTHING works. And you changed everything and checked all the fuses ETC . The big orange wire is broken left drivers side under the floor board near the hood release! Trust me.

    I gave the cover a good kick 🦶 and the damn thing worked. Ordering new blower now, but gives me enough time.

    THANK YOU FOR THAT!!! I heard my rear AC start making some screeching noises and then just straight up stopped working. Imma check my blower motor rn, this tutorial taught me how to actually get that biga** panel out lol

  • @YUFlysofast
    @YUFlysofast Před 5 měsíci +1

    I was hoping to just see how the panel pops off. Haven’t messed with it too much myself. Does that HVAC case have to come apart to get to the sheet metal? Or can it drop down as a unit and easier to put back that way

    how you know if its blower motor or the resistor

    • @ballsoutperformance
      @ballsoutperformance  Před rokem +3

      If you're getting power to the motor, then it's the motor. Generally when resistors go bad, the fan will work but only on certain speeds, like wide open for example

    I have air blowing out of one rear ac vent and the remaing three rear ac vents are hardly blowing any air out. Any idea as to what the issue can be? At first I thought maybe the actuator that controls direction of ventilation but if I am getting air from one vent then maybe that's not the issue but something else. I'd appreciate any thoughts, tips, etc. Thanks!

    Is there a specific fuse for the rear fan to check before I tear into the rear motor housing? 2013 Tahoe.

    07 Tahoe here . What if just one vent is not blowing ? (Rear passenger) all other vents are circulating full blast upset just that one .

    • @ballsoutperformance
      @ballsoutperformance  Před 2 lety +2

      I havent dealt with that issue on a Tahoe but generally speaking there is what is called a "mode door actuator" that controls what vents open and close. Sounds like you have a problem there. You need to take it to a reputable ac mechanic to have it properly diagnosed

      Thank you for replying about to try at this myself 🤞🏼. I have another question my air vents at the roof in the rear are not blowing air but the air vent at the floor back is blowing air. Could it be the blower?

    • @ballsoutperformance
      @ballsoutperformance  Před rokem

      Yes possibly. Im thinkning that the rear blower just handles the roof air. But I may be mistaken. I cant recall exactly how it was laid out.
