- The cast-iron railings surrounding a tomb in Beauparc Graveyard, County Meath feature an unusual detail around the top: a skull and crossbones. There is no information on who was responsible for this work, and the tombstone is unfortunately too worn to be able to read whose resting place it marks.

It may have been a smaller graveyard than some but WOW what a lot of interesting stuff . Loved the one that looked like a little house and the skull and crossbones. You and Serenity Sue really do find the best stuff . Thank you x
Hi Caron thanks ❤️ this was a nice find
Yes the crossbones and skulls on rhat gate was very interesting. Thanks for sharing and hi to Sue.
Wow!! Loved the skull & crossbones on the railing around the grave.
Yes very nice find. Thank you for watching
This is the first time I’ve seen such bricked up coffins in a mausoleum
Same! I have never seen it either.
Skull and crossbones ☠️ were cool! But on that back corner looked like someone took one. Awesome place❤️
Just woke up here in sydney Australia. I always find what you do very interesting. Keep it up. Thanks
Awesome! Thank you!
The brick coffin enclosures in that first crypt were really holding up good. The 4 corners of the sculls and crossbones was eerie.
Beautiful graveyard and a very interesting grave with the skulls and crossbones.❤❤
Beautifully kept ceremony. I love these places so much history ❤
I love that you put their pictures and a brief bio. On these people, thank you!
Love these old graveyards ❤
Lovely little graveyard. Really interesting finds. One day I really want to go to Ireland and look up possible family. I'm from Chicago Illinois in the US, and have always been interested in learning about our family past and where we came from.
That would be great if you visited Ireland 🇮🇪
Loved this..didn't want it to end ❤
Hi gv very detailed interesting grave's especially the skull railings I haven't seen it before thank you for sharing this with all of us safe travels and stay safe

Another amazing place guys...especially the first mosoleum...
Thanks shellie
Small graveyard, but some interesting finds! Thanks!
Hi liz thank you
Thank you for sharing the tour. 😊 It's fascinating looking inside the Mausoleums
The old Celtic Cross did it for me, the carvings were amazing. That first mausoleum looked like a little church, and I'm really surprised that those skulls with crossbones haven't all been pinched. Thanks for the walkabout GV. Deb of Oz. P.S. Perhaps wearing a mask will help Sue with the hayfever! Take care. XX
Hi Guys, nice to see you both again. I was feeling quite depressed until I saw your video, now I feel a lot better. Thank you for bringing this to us.
Hi Barry hope you are well
@@GraveVisitations I'm not feeling all that good at the moment. I hate my depression.
@@barry_uk please god things will get better
That first mausoleum was very well built! Doesn't seem to hav any water damage. Never seen bricked up coffins before. And the glass windows at the back were a beautiful idea. So impressive!!
Ty GV for sharing this cemetery. It is very unique. Bless you Sue. Kathy
Hi guys it's so nice to see you both working together sue looks more chilled out when she is with you GV take care 👍
Another great visit and video. LOVED the Celtic cross especially as I'm a Kelly and it was for the Kelly family ❤❤ Gave me goose bumps hearing you say the name Mary Kelly as that was my aunties name . Keep up the fabulous work and walks please 🙏
Thanks clare I had a neighbour years ago called theresa kelly lovely old lady
From Pennsylvania USA. My Grandmother was from County Mayo where the Quiet Man movie home was located. Mary Ellen Joyce was her name. My Grandfather John O'Holleran, County Cork. The cemetery you showed was interesting. The tombs were different.
Thank you.
What a nice cemetery. Thank you both for driving so far to show it to us. The wheel symbolizes hope of eternal life, the cycle of life, or enlightenment.
I love looking at old cemeteries when traveling. Good to know that I am not alone. This one os really interesting. Many thanks for sharing. Liked and SUBSCRIBED!
Hi thank you for watching and subscribing 👍 glad you enjoyed it
@@GraveVisitations You are very welcome. Great channel. Consider joining the club!
The crypt with the brick tombs is a good idea considering all the ones we’ve seen with bones strewn about. Thanks GV for the tour. Found you through Serenity Sue . From Nanaimo BC Canada 🇨🇦 ❤❤❤❤❤
Hi Rosie welcome to the channel 👍🇮🇪
Interesting cemetery, and like you said, very well cared for. The mausoleums are in very good condition, except for the one without a roof. I have never seen coffins ⚰️ enclosed in brick before myself, perhaps it is to help preserve the coffins a little longer, and help discourage vandalism.
Thank you very much GV and Sue, for another great walking tour. Have a great day. 😊
I loved the one grave with the Celtic Cross. Brian Kelly. Possibly one of many ancestors of mine. So interesting, to follow you around the many beautiful grave yards over there. Thank you again.
That looked like a flower in a circle rather then a wheel when you stepped back. The skull and crossbones was very unusual
Thank you for taking me on your journey's, I have a great love for old cemetery's.The history of people and day's gone by.
Glad you enjoyed Janice thanks for watching

I love what you guys do. You bring peoples lives back to the forefront. Now I know everything about the 6th earl and I had never even heard of him before. I learn so much thanks to you and Sue. You bring people back to life
Thank you glad you enjoyed it
Great video. Loved the skull and crossbones on the railings!
Glad you enjoyed
You know that 1960 's movie,The tomb of Ligeia, with Vincent Price, was filmed around Irish tombs and cemeteries on location...
Didn't know that Tom that's interesting Vincent price is great love his voice
Looks like it was filmed in England
I love your channel, the places you visit have a sense of mortality which in todays world we all need. To look back into history and to the days people were not as lucky as us. Even the great and the good end up like everyone else. Bones and dust. Please continue and thank you GV.
Thanks Ann appreciate it ❤️
The tombs in th mauseleum were in great shape...that is always good to see and cleared grounds good for that being done. Seems so peaceful😊. Thanx for the walk and reading the stones. Take care.❤😊
The skull and crossbones were amazing!
Really good video thanks guys
Our pleasure! Edward
Oh my goodness. Wow, I have never seen this before!😮 A beautiful cemetery by the way.
Very interesting grave yard, thank you . Adam McClintock... Oakham, Massachusetts
Glad you enjoyed it Adam
Cast iron skull and crossbones is a pretty cool find! Maybe Edmond was a pirate! Lol. Great video. 👍 😊
The skull with crossed femurs generally symbolized the minimum of remains required for resurrection. When there was limited space for graves in churchyards, older graves were dug up and the skull and femurs were removed and placed in communal ossuaries. Ossuaries are large vaults for bone storage with the skull and cross bone symbol usually placed outside above the iron doors. On many Scottish and some New England grave markers, skull symbols and other symbols of death including an hourglass or angel child's head with wings or even crossed shovels were portrayed to remind the viewer of their own mortality.
@@stenlundquist7518. Very interesting
No gold tho ha
So nice the video today from Australia 🇦🇺
Glad you enjoyed it Kylie 👍
Beautiful old cemetery!
A very nice Cemetery but very sad that at least I could have put a little historical sign to let people know what was the name of the church and maybe what it look like. But some interesting finds and thank you so much for sharing cemetery and viewing this mausoleums. Have a great day thank you so much.
thanks for the video ,,, very interesting
Great finds! I am following you from Coventry, west midlands

Thanks kitty, I love recording some unique graves also. Welcome to the channel
Approximately 4 generations back we had a Leeson family and the grandfather from then was Mayor of Leeson Street Dublin
very interesting thank you. I'm Gill from Warwick in England. Love your videos.
Hi Gill thank you for watching 👍
Helping out those pesky algorithms 💚
Great video as per usual! Loved Loved the skull & Crossbones 🏴☠️ you found on the fence as well as your comment about being surprised to see something like that here, usually you’d see that in Scotland 🏴 lol 😂 Speaking of which would you and Serenity Sue ever take a trip to Scotland and explore some cemeteries there? God Bless! ♥️🇨🇦🇮🇪♥️
We are definitely going to go to Scotland and explore 👍😁
It does look strange😮
The wheel on the headstone means he was a wheel wright and built wheels and wagons, buggies, etc.
Interesting thanks William
back in the day people who died of tuberculosis had those skull and cross bones but also those that were hanged as pirates also had them and some who were doctors or i guess you called them herbalists also had the skull and cross bones.
Really cool ràilings😊😊
I live in the United States and my aunt Evelyn Grenier is buried somewhere in Ireland, I believe Dublin but I'm not sure. I would love nothing more than to find out where she is buried and see what her plot looks like. She died on January 22nd 1999 after moving to Ireland several years prior.
Have you tried find a grave on the Internet?
Lovely cemetery
I find interesting old graveyards in Pennsylvania and I always wish I could show you and serenity sue 😂😂😂😂.
Take a video of them
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Hello from New Zealand
Hi Sandra
Wow
Good evening everyone
Hellooooo
What was the meaning with the cross bones and skull?
It means momento mori death comes to us all
Do you come across Graves from 1600s? During the 1600s did they 16:46 not bury their dead in Graves as was done in the 1700s.😮😮
Yes I have found a few from 1600'S
Hi GV & Sue
Hi Joan 👋
Hi guys.. Love your vids.. Beauparc is in Navan Co. Meath.. I live in Dunshaughlin just a few minutes away.. We have some really old graveyards around here as well as a crannog site and workhouse and famine graveyard beside it.
You forgot U2.❤
😂
At 3:22 hear a hen clucking but not sure if she laughing at or cheering on as both of you sneak a peek? Could have been asking if any good bugs about? Heard sheep a few times but this is first chicken.
I listened to this at slowest speed. Not sure it is a chicken. Maybe... Hey what you doing here or in here? 🤔
At 21:23 look up at clouds on right. Does it look a bit like a graveyard in the sky?
Hi there 😊😊
Hello 😊
I just don’t understand vandalism, senseless filth that have nothing better to do I guess.
The stone & iron works are just beautiful.
Was he a pirate 🏴☠️
Definitely not a pirate
Not a roof man it's a wig.

That was the channel and guy, and my ears fume with smoke thinking about this " aura " of arrogance.
Nice place.
No spray can vandals !
The different symbols are supposed to have meanings .
What symbols are you referring to?
You too Grave Visitations bye for now
Doesn't skull mean he died from a virus
Momento mori it means
